Late night the close the street to traffic so you can make the stumble to your next bar. A number of the food places are open late (I would seriously suggest Nick's Tomato Pie) and in the summer, the Night's in Syracuse are perfect for out door drinking. If you want a good beer, Blue Tusk is your place. A ton of beer on tap plus outdoor seating. Awful Al's is a cigar bar and one of the few places in Upstate New York that allows indoor smoking. Empire Brewery brews their own and generally has some pretty good music. Syracuse Suds Factory also brews their own, though not quite as good as Empire, however the large space and lack of crowds tends to make this my default starting spot for a night out.

This is an expensive parking garage which I only used one time and there won't be a second time. I don't use parking garages even when there aren't really any other options because there's always something better and easier and cheaper (usually cheaper) and I always find it. The girl I was with (and it was her car) insisted on this, though, because she only uses parking garages. I couldn't really believe how overpriced and unnecessary they were, especially considering nobody was really in town on this particular weekend. Old and run-down and I don't particularly consider it to be any safer whatsoever than the street. If anything it might be even less safe.

I prefer College Road House, but this is a distant second…read more This is a very new, shiny, and clean parking garage, and is often used by visitors to the university or students in a pinch. It's not cheap - especially by Syracuse standards. It seems safe enough but there's a lot of street parking around, so I can really only imagine this being used primarily for events. And there's a lot of events around here of course with the Orangemen, so that makes sense. Not my favourite parking garage cuz of the rates, but definitely a lot nicer than some, at least until it gets run down in a few years.

There was no signage to indicate that. When I asked if there were any other spots available, I was informed with a non-committal "Not really" that, apparently, there weren't. While I recognize the need to accommodate people with parking permits, there was nothing to indicate this was anything other than a public lot. Additionally, the attendant was abrupt and unhelpful. Given the choice between parking here and walking, take the stroll.
