This is usually because finding an honest, reliable contractor to help take my remodeling ideas from a dreamlike state to reality is so hard. I was beginning to think it was impossible. When my family and I bought our dream home in North Georgia several months ago, we fell in love with its potential and understood that for it to meet our liking, we would need to invest heavily in substantial updates. This was particularly true for all of the 3 bathrooms, which though fully functional, had yet to be updated since they had been built in the 70's. My husband is a handy guy who does many of our home improvement projects himself, but taking on the tub-to-shower conversion and flooring updates for so many bathrooms was out of his wheelhouse, so we knew we would need to hire a professional to take care of that for us. Once the closing papers had been signed, I got to work researching contractors in the area who could help us and I obtained various estimates for the job. Interviewing contractors and getting estimates was a frustrating experience. I had been down this road before when we had remodeled a bathroom at the home we sold in Miami a few years back and it was deja vu all over again. In my experience, contractors are notoriously unreliable. They don't show up when they say they will, are often deliberately vague about materials or costs, lack a sense of basic professionalism, and are generally terrible at communication. After much research, review reading, and sifting through estimates that ranged from suspiciously cheap to outrageously expensive, I settled on one contractor somewhere in the middle to get started on our first remodel, which was in the basement bathroom. Though things started well enough, they went downhill rather quickly. This original contractor hired subpar workers who not surprisingly did a subpar job. I would have expected that from the suspiciously cheap estimates but not from one in the middle. I expect that the amount I pay will adequately reflect the quality of the job done and unfortunately, this was not the case for that contractor. Obviously, I did not continue to use this same company for the other bathroom projects, so my hunt for a good contractor was on again. It was extra tough because I was doing this from out of state at that point since we had bought the house, but I had still not officially moved. This is when I stumbled upon Interior Motive. The moment I spoke to Derik, I knew I had finally found the elusive contractor I had been seeking. I explained what we needed in the other two bathroom projects and how things had gone wrong with our first contractor. He seemed sympathetic to our situation and was happy to help turn our experience around for the upcoming projects. We decided to hire Interior Motive to complete our remaining bathroom remodeling projects and they did not disappoint. Derik is the most responsive contractor I have ever dealt with. He was very proactive at every stage of each project. I never had to wonder what was going on or when because Derik was always on top of it and giving me ample notice about every little thing. He uses the same crew, comprised of quality guys who genuinely care about their work and it shows. Derik and the whole team at Interior Motive are true professionals who took the anxiety out of our remodeling projects because I was confident that we could trust them to do an amazing job. And an amazing job they did! They started with our guest bath remodel and since we were very happy with how that turned out, using them for our final remodel with the master bath was a no-brainer. While we ran into a couple of hiccups with our last project, Derik was quick to resolve those issues quickly and to everyone's satisfaction. The way he was able to communicate with my husband and explain things in a way that made him feel better about his concerns is honestly a true talent because my husband tends to clash with most contractors we have used. Interior Motive was reliable, consistently communicative, reasonably priced, professional, and produced quality work. Therefore, it is with great confidence that I enthusiastically recommend the Interior Motive team for any of your remodeling needs. Russell gave me a high level overview of his process of cleaning, deodorizing, and treating the carpet. Just with this, this overview, I began to feel pretty darn hopeful that he would do a great job. Russell arrived on time; actually I ran behind and had to call to ask Russell for more time to move the furniture. He gladly said that wouldn't be a problem; then offered to come on over and move the furniture away from the soiled areas! His process began with retreating the carpet and the heavily soiled areas. Dirt and heavy traffic spots weren't so much my trouble areas, but instead I have pet stains. He then treated those areas with gentle, natural and chemical products to break down the urine stains. Next, he thoroughly cleaned the carpet. He went over the area 2x and gave extra attention to the heavy areas. After the intense cleaning, he treated and deodorized. The carpet was dry by the end of the day. There was no in and out steam job here, All in all the job took about 2 hours; Russell didn't leave until he was certain the carpet looked as best it could. He took care in his work and it showed. 2 days later he gave me a follow up call and I was happy to say no stains resurfaced and the carpet smelled fresh and clean. A month later and carpet still looks great.
