Beware of the Allstate mailer quotes from John Rose - huge bait and switch I've been getting these mail quotes from John Rose Allstate every couple of months for the last 5 years. The latest one showed a very appealing $1,410.40 per year. I called to finalize the policy, expecting maybe 20-30% higher at most. Instead, the actual quote came back at $3,047 -- more than double the mailer price. I have good credit and no claims history, so I asked why the massive difference. They told me the mail quote assumes a brand new roof, perfect credit score, and every possible discount available. In my opinion, this is pretty deceptive. Sending out lowball teaser quotes that don't reflect reality for most people just wastes everyone's time. If you get one of these mailers from John Rose Allstate, plan on adding roughly 100% to the quoted price for what you'll actually pay. I got a letter in the mail today May 21,2026 from Armando Rubio and called back to get a home and auto. I was told by Allstate agent in Tucson Az that Armando was not available and Cecil's said she could help me. I said I wanted to speak with Armando and she again told me he was not available. I told her I wanted to speak with the person who wrote me. The agent then hung up on me. I called her back and asked her why did she hang up on me as I was speaking giving her my number for Armando to call me back. I asked if she would transfer me to a Supervisor and she said no one was available. Celia denied hanging the phone and later apologized after my wife got on the phone with her and told her she heard everything and she hung up while I was giving my phone number. I called corporate office and spoke to Crystal who took my complaint and told me that she would file the complaint and someone would get back to me. I explained to Crystal that I wanted to reward Armando because he took the initiative to write me a letter with his quote. Crystal told me she would transfer me to Armando ext and Transferred me to Crystal and I asked for Armando and she again told me he was not available and said I can help you and then said again no I want to talk to Armando and then hung up and called the home office and asked to speak with Crystal. I explained to him what happened and told me he could not transfer me because it was a large company. He would not give me his first name and he said my complaint had not do with him. I called corporate office back and he answered again and I asked him his name and he told me his name was Alex and he transferred me to customer service. I spoke with a woman that sounded just like Crystal and was told her name was faith. I asked her if she was AI and she told me she was a live person. I said are you sure because you sound like crystal. She assured me she was a real person. I asked her who the President of the United States was and she would not answer and asked me my policy number. I hung up the phone after she would not respond. Don't bother with this company they are sure not going to give you customer service to any policy holder when you have to make a claim. Sent me on a while goose chase. worst agency ever. Allstate transferred my business from my agent that gave personal service to Rose without asking me and the service level has been extremely poor for three years. Focus on quantity and not quality. Can't move my business fast enough. Been with Allstate 20 years - never again. read more

He's a mail spammer and uses various ploys to get you to open his B.S. mail which sometimes comes disguised as a check (in one of those envelopes that takes 10 minutes to fold, bend & rip off the sides only for it to open to a friggin' B.S. ad from him. Dear John Rose, I had asked your employees twice to speak to you, - no result; either they did not care to pass the request along or you did not, - I cannot know. Wanted to ask you following questions, just curious to know if it was OK and totally normal for your agents to: 1. provide erroneous quotes, with gaping errors, which quotes feel after all as a bate-quotes 2. respond with 100% silence to a question related to state mandated disclosure and values in such disclosure. 3. be generally clueless with particulars related to the quote provided and finally 4. when frustrated with 1-3 to be called a 'douche', 'a pain' .. and "I don' have to sell you the policy" you let me know please. I called Monday to ask how to cancel my partner's current auto insurance policy, immediately was greated by a negative tone. The sales rep stated I had to come into the office to cancel, I asked if there is any way to cancel via secured email or any other method . She stated yes I can email the policy holder. I provided the name of the policy holder and since then it's been a nightmare dealing with this insurance agency , They have no regards for customer service. When you state the experience has been unpleasant John Rose himself emailed us to state they have never had any issues in service , making my experience seem like I'm lying . This has been the most degrading, unpleasant experience for services , the policy holder had his accounts auto drafted monthly , never met any one from the office , years of paying for this type of treatment when canceling . Please do your research and go to an insurance carrier that doesn't make you feel like your concerns and experience don't matter , everyone deserves at least a phone call to discuss matters , we didn't receive one. read more

Really wish I could leave 0 stars. This company is dishonest and not upfront about costs. I canceled my policy due to the fact that my auto insurance was steadily increasing each year even though I had 0 accidents. After it had reached an increase of $40 at year 3 I called to cancel. I asked the representative specifically if I would be charged since I was canceling at the beginning of my 6 month cycle even though I pay monthly. That agent told me no, I would not be charged and that I would receive a refund for the days of the month I was not covered. Fast forward one week and I get the refund and they had charged me $102 for 6 days of coverage. I called back to ask how the charges were calculated and the new agent told me I was indeed charged for canceling early. I let her know that the first agent told me there would be no charge and her only response was "well that was wrong, in NC there is a charge for canceling early". So now I am out $75 because an employee conveniently lied or was misinformed. Either way, this is bad business. Please use a different company when looking for coverage. read more

If I could give a negative star review. I have been a customer with John Rose Allstate for 16 years and have two homes and two cars insured through them. I bought a wind and hail homeowners insurance policy through them for one of my homes. I had damage from a hurricane, called the agency to begin the claim process and found out my policy had been canceled MONTHS prior with zero notification from Allstate or the third party company they purchased this policy from on my behalf. Apparently the premiums were not paid. The agent as well as I thought they were auto charged to my credit card. Come to find out the third party agency doesn't allow this. This branch claims they didn't receive any cancellation notices either. I sent an email to John Rose himself and have yet to get a response of any kind. An apology would have gone a long way. I'm canceling all my polices with Allstate. read more

I relocated from MD to NC and transferred my policy. My payment schedule was the 15th of each month, I suspended my payment and they cancelled my policy on the 23rd. I tried contacting the office to find out why my policy was cancelled and I was unable to contact anyone at the office. I left numerous messages. It took me to send an email and someone finally contacted me on 12/1 informing me my policy was cancelled and I had to renew it which was going to cost me an additional $400.00 per month. I have NEVER had my insurance cancelled nor have I EVER experienced a lapse in coverage. I would never refer anyone to this agency due to this. I have been with Allstate for 10 years in MD, this agency gives Allstate a horrible representation. My insurance company now informed me that your policy isn't considered late until after 15 days, and it would take an additional 15 days before the policy is completely cancelled. read more
