I'm sure you already know this, but State Farm is not a good neighbor. We have been with them for…read more24 years. We had 4 policies with them: homeowners, two cars, and umbrella. We never made a claim on our homeowner's insurance, but they are dumping us (non-renewal). Furthermore, they are reporting to everyone else that we had a claim in 2020 even though we withdrew it before we they even came out for an inspection. There was never any claim. But they show it as a loss of $0. That makes it even harder for us to find insurance. No other insurance company will take us. We have no choice other than the FAIR plan. We will have to get a DIC policy to cover everything other than fire. State Farm said they were willing to offer us such a policy, but they're only giving us a 5% discount relative to last year's premium. They're excluding the biggest risk factor (fire) and giving us only 5% discount? Fair is going to cost us $6,500. Last year we paid $2,464 for our homeowners insurance. Now State Farm thinks we're going to pay $2,343 for a homeowner's policy that excludes fire, which is by far the biggest risk? I don't think so. We already got a lower quote for a DIC policy from a company that has a better A.M. Best rating than State Farm. We're also looking to take ALL our business elsewhere. (Now they say they're going to take away our multi-line discount because we no longer have homeowners insurance with them. They dumped us!) I don't appreciate being treated this way. State Farm didn't even have the decency to notify us in appropriate manner. They simply sent an email that was written as if we already knew our contract had not been renewed. Our new insurance agent has been much more helpful. She answered all our questions and took the time to think about what might be in our best interest.

My daughter and her fiancé recently just bought a house near Eddie Sandoval's State Farm Agency. This young couple were very thorough and had three inspections done including a specific roof inspection (also one done by the seller). Eddie Sandoval State Farm agency took their money for home insurance and neglected to ask if they had roof inspections. Instead they hired someone to drive by to inspect the roof without ever going on the roof. Just weeks after this young couple closed on their home, Eddie's agency said they will stop insuring their home in less than one month if they don't replace their roof, despite this couple having two professional and very recent inspections done; both indicating that the roof has year's of life left. Worse yet, when I spoke to Eddie and his agent, I found both completely in cya mode and lacking any empathy or willingness to even give them more time to sort things out. I have never seen any company treat a paying customer so badly. Shocking. They told me they don't have the authority to help, yet when I called state farm corporate, they told me that the local agency has the most power.
