Allstate customer for over 35 yrs, auto and homeowner. Took defensive driving course in September 2025. Called agency when i got the certificate later that month. They gave me e mail address to sent it to which i did. I confirmed the address with the agent. Didn't hear anything for a while but last time I did this it took a while to get a refund. Now new coverage period. Has not been applied. Call again and they don't have it. I send it again and it gets applied to new period. Call to see why the other discounts are now reduced after application of the defensive driving, which seems like a scam. They will get back to me and also informed me that the email address they gave me was not a good one. I did not get a notice that this was not delivered. But informed me they cannot apply discount to previous period because they received it after 90 days. What a scam. I did not choose this agency. Was assigned after my local agent retired. So this agency has proven to be incompetent and has cost me money. Run don't walk away from this agency. Fortunately, I am able to change agencies. We'll see how the new one does and if same incompetence will leave review with same and find another insurance agency. read more

I been with Allstate for over 50 years ever since the Romana Agency took over for Anthony Carlye the service has gone down hill. Dealing with Blanca is a nightmare she is nasty and rude and totally unprofessional. Because of the dismal services they provide I canceled all my policies. Blanca had been calling me and emailing about owing money on my homeowners policy which I never received. First she insisted I owed 2 months when I only owed 2 weeks. I told her to send me a bill which refused to do. She also told me I should send a months payment and wait for a refund. When I told I'll wait for Allstate to send me a bill she told me they don't send bills and if I didn't pay I would be turned over to collections. I like to know how Mr. Romano allows this person to deal with his customers. By the I went with State Farm I'm saving $1200.00 a year on car insurance and $200 on homeowners insurance. read more

This agency is the worst. They managed to not be able to submit the photo verifications for one of our cars causing issues with our loan. To make up for this they issued a defensive driver course completion for my husband that he never attended. They couldn't be bothered with us for the next several years - no follow up on life insurance inquires, never offered a household review - NOTHING. Then when we added our 16 year old daughter they couldn't explain why the bill tripled. We had to call another Allstate agent who explained about the inexperienced driver surcharge. Mr. Romano was rude and completely uniformed when he spoke to me. His only solution was to fudge the numbers to make it look my husband drove all 4 of our cars more because of the fake course discount would save us a few dollars. I would have stayed with Allstate and just moved agents but Allstate pays the originating agent the commissions and we refuse to give this guy another penny. If you are getting Allstate go down the road to Peekskill to Michael Burger. His staff is friendly, informed and goes out of their way to be helpful even if you aren't their client.
