After I changed my insurance away from Geico, I was switched to a $1250, and even better, not notified about it. After speaking with Lauren Leo personally, there was still no way for them to change my policy back, or refund me the difference in price of my policy for the period of time that I was uninformed of the change. I was offered an apology, and that's it. They seem like nice enough people, so it may be that they are just very disorganized and unable to properly support their customers. I would be very scared to have something critical happen in my car or to my house and rely on them Details below: I recently purchased my first home, and searched around for a combination of homeowners and car insurance. After an extensive search, State Farm in Holmdel quoted me the lowest price, of about $950 for two cars for six months. I changed my policy away from Geico (who I had for many years) as a result, as price was my primary determination. I prepaid my homeowners and car insurance for 6 months. A month later, I received a letter in the mail from State Farm, saying that due to a suspension due to unpaid parking tickets that they missed, my policy had been cancelled. I also received a check in the mail for the remaining portion of my policy balance. I called State Farm, questioning why this happened. I was told that there was a mistake, and that everything was fine, and to just return the check to their office, which I did. Two months later, I received a bill in them mail saying that I owed another 600 dollars for the next three months. After calling State Farm multiple times, and many days of them "having to look into it", I was told that my policy had been rewritten after a month, at a rate of 1250 dollars for two cars for six months ( an increase of 30% !! ). Apparently, that change had been in effect and billing against my prepaid balance for 2-3 months, without me being notified. Additionally, and more generically, there is no billing support in non-business hours, but that's minor compared to the poor support and business tactics.

I called the agency a week before to notify them that I was replacing my car , gave the exact date I wanted the coverage to end and the new coverage to begin on my new car. I was assured it was taken care of it. I recently found out they have been charging me for a car premium on a car that has been out of my possession for 3 years! I even sent him the receipt for DMV that the plates were surrendered! His response " yes. I see it was a mistake on my end. There's really nothing I can do. Strand insurance is the most dishonest insurance company that can be out there. I called them and they said it was an error and that I shoulkd disregard the letter. In October, I received a letter from DMV saying to surrender my plate for not having insurance. I had to go through a long process to reestabish my insurance without even them appologizing to me. On top of that they increase your primium every year for no reason. They increase my premium by $1000 for a no fault accident and when I confronted them, they said I shouldsend them the police report to prove my statement. When I did that they decreased it by $200. Strand Finance located at 22 Tennent Rd is a very dishonest…read moreinsurance financing company. I helped my daughter open up a policy through Argos insurance agency and the agent uses Strand as the financing company. Argos took the down payment and first payment. He stated that Strand would send a coupon book but they actually don't do any billing. Once the payment wasn't made on time, they sent a cancellation notice just after 2 weeks of a late payment stating that the policy was being cancelled on that same day. When the letter arrived we called Argos and he was able to make a payment to strand. Strand kept the payment even after they cancelled the policy and never reinstated the policy. They also charged a higher premium than what was charged by Integon insurance company. They overcharged the premium by $300 and kept the $400 monthly payment that was made after they cancelled the policy. The better business bureau is investigating but advised to report it to consumer affairs if Strand doesn't resolve this by sending the correct refund. There are many reviews on yelp and google stating that this company scams hard working consumers.
