During my…read morefirst year, I experienced a hiccup that became a hardship as a new customer because the agent at Brightway never cancelled my existing policy with Geico (Security First) prior to issuing me a new policy with Progressive (ASI). This error was a costly one for me and my family because my mortgage company paid both insurance policies from escrow. This created an escrow account shortage which resulted in my fixed rate mortgage increasing by $440 per month due to double coverage. Needless to say, with December being my renewal month, I was a bit apprehensive about remaining with Brightway as a customer. On December 14th, I received a call from their office in reference to an increase in my renewal policy. This call prompted me to visit the office in person prior to renewing especially after the previous year incident. When I entered the Fleming Island branch office I encountered Mr. Otis Brazil, at that time we discussed my renewal policy. He was more than eager to shop the market immediately for a lower competitive policy and was successful in substantially lowering the rate I had been previously quoted as well as assisting me with obtaining a refund for the double coverage that occurred last year. Mr. Brazil, truly restored my trust in this company. Otis insurance IQ, customer service skills, communication and his genuine willingness to assist me with my insurance needs is the only reason I will remain a customer with Brightway Insurance Company. That was on Friday, February 12th, 2016, almost a month after we sent him all of our information. Now, our policy is in cancellation status and we have to fix this again because of his incompetence. Please don't trust him to take care of your insurance.
