I worked directly with Marian Cotter, who, unfortunately, demonstrated a lack of clarity, accountability, and professionalism throughout our interaction. From the start, she appeared unfamiliar with my account details and struggled to provide accurate or coherent explanations regarding my policy. Prior to purchasing my vehicle, I made multiple calls to the Sean McCarthy State Farm office during standard business hours to obtain precise insurance quotes. I clearly explained my situation, that I had been in an accident and needed to understand exactly what my monthly premium would be before committing to a new car. Each time, I was quoted consistent figures. However, less than a month after securing my vehicle, my premium unexpectedly increased to over $300, with no prior notice or proactive communication from the agency. When I reached out for clarification, I was dismissively told, "I don't know who you spoke to, but someone quoted you wrong." This response was both unprofessional and unacceptable, especially given that all prior communication had been with their own office. At no point did anyone explain that quoted rates could significantly change after underwriting review--a critical detail that should be transparently communicated to any customer making a financial decision of this magnitude. When I expressed concern about the sudden increase and explained that I could not afford a $737 insurance payment, I was met with a shockingly indifferent response: "Yeah, probably," when I asked if I should return my vehicle. This lack of empathy and guidance was both discouraging and inappropriate. Additionally, when I requested to speak with a supervisor, I never received a follow-up. Instead, without my knowledge or consent, my policy was transferred to another agency days later. This was done without any communication, explanation, or courtesy outreach. Overall, this experience reflects a serious lack of professionalism, transparency, and customer care. I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution and ensure all details are clearly documented and confirmed before making any decisions with this office.

Every few days I would reach out to her via phone and email and was continuously told my refund will be "credited back to my card" in a few days. Every time I reached out the answer was "another one or two days". By 3/3/23 I still did not receive it. I then called the underwriting department at State Farm and a supervisor informed me that Ana did not request the cancelation until 2/28/23. The supervisor informed me it was because Ana held off to get commission from the sale of the auto policy. I was called back on 3/7/23 and was informed they do not refund to a debit or credit card. They only send a check. On 3/7/23 I was told it was printed and mailed. Today is 3/11/23, still no check however other things from state farm dated for 3/8 and 3/9 were in my mailbox today. Please do yourself a great service and completely skip this specific office. It should under no circumstances take 5 weeks for a refund without the refund even being received.

At the time I was a new homeowner and I worked with Bryan Perez to obtain home insurance and of course coverage for my vehicle. He was patient with me as I had so much transpiring at once and new to the process, he took his time to explain things to me and answered my questions with great ease. And, to this day (2025) he is very responsive to all my inquiries. Bryan is always a pleasure to work with and is professional, he acts quickly to get answers and always follows up. When Bryan isn't around, I've worked with Addison and Leanette who are also professional and easy to work with. Having a good relationship with your insurance agent is comforting but they also do their best to get the best rates they can for their clients which is greatly appreciated. This agency, Jennifer Rivera - State Farm Insurance Agents are bright and very helpful so I highly recommend them.
