My daughter had a truly disheartening experience today interviewing for a position with State Farm agent Sergio Bio at the Clifton office. This wasn't an interview. It was a condescending interrogation. Sergio repeatedly grilled her about her unemployment status despite her clearly stating that she worked as an on-call teachers assistant and held a summer job. He spent an absurd amount of time on a single topic: her car. Was it hers? Did she share it? Was she sure it was her own car? It was invasive and entirely irrelevant He then had the audacity to question her intelligence, demanding she defined the word administrative just because she used it to describe her job search. She was so upset by his behavior that she ended the interview, and his final response was an angry, "oh really, you wanna end this?" No one deserves to be treated this way. If you are a job seeker, particularly a young woman, please be cautious when interviewing at this office. Sergio's unprofessionalism reflects poorly on the entire State Farm brand. My daughter was right to terminate the interview. It takes great professionalism and self-respect, to recognize a toxic situation and walk away.

He went all out to sign me up for an expensive Chubb homeowners and umbrella liability policy(don't get me wrong I think Chubb is good) and the moment he becomes your "agent of record" don't expect to hear from him again. During the sale process he also misrepresented (though probably on accident) that I had no coverage under another homeowner's policy for an investment property, and I had to crawl through the insurance docs to confirm he was wrong. After signing up for Chubb through Jay, I purchased another home, moved and did various things where I needed information and he would not have the courtesy of even responding to my phone calls or emails. I called Chubb a couple times to complain about Coughlin but they were eager to protect their "producer" and while offering to address my immediate need, they were reluctant to take a complaint and would not give me the option to move to another agent. Which is a shame given Chubb is otherwise a good company but I am in the process of shopping for another carrier now because I simply cannot allow this agent to continue earning commissions off me for nonexistent customer service.

One DUI in my life, never charged with another, and they emphatically stated that I had two, that's right two DUI's. When I offered an explanation I was given by the DMV the agent snapped at me and said he doesn't wish to argue with me. I have proof of their claim in an email stating I had 2 DUI's so, I am going to obtain a lawyer and proceed to sue them for their false claim. The reason they think I had two DUI's is because they obviously do not know how to read a driver abstract from NYS. The reason I think they feel I had 2 is because of the initial DUI ticket, then the court proceeding ended almost a year later and then was entered into the record. I hold my abstract in front of me as I type and I can tell the difference. How are they even licensed to be an insurance agency with such amateurish mistakes? They want to make my record worse than it really is, I will take them to the mat in a court and sue for slander.
