We had billing problems straight away, and I have never found Kathy to be a very friendly or helpful person to deal with. I have been moving all of our insurance from State Farm to various "other" insurance companies over the last decade or so. Saving a lot of money in the process. We moved all but our daughters life insurance (we were locked into that one.) As our daughter was closing in on her 26th birthday, and was in no position to take over the policy, we requested that Kathy insure that the policy stay with us. She "looked it over", and assured us that it would stay in our names. Well, guess what? She failed to "look closely enough", and the policy was automatically moved into our daughters name. Even though we contacted her well in advance, and were assured "it would stay set up with us". When we got a letter telling us that it was automatically moved, we were told, "well that is what you set up back in 2012". Even though we JUST spoke to her, and were assured that it wouldn't be transferred. She just kept repeating "that is what was on the paperwork you signed in 2012". Apparently not even acknowledging that we JUST requested something else, and SHE indicated that it was good to go. I would have expected here to let us know if there was a paperwork change being needed. But, nope. Oh well. We now have to jump through hoops, because she dropped the ball. Just sorry I couldn't convince my wife to dump Joel Alba State Farm a couple of decades earlier.

I started my journey by working with Gus Summers to get my 2019 Taxes done, in March of 2020. This year was a standout because with the help of a colleague, Gus was able to maximize my return and get me a much better outcome than I thought. Then I went back to Gus for help with my 2020 taxes, except this was all virtual. Still, Gus was able to get everything done very quickly and it was very easy to use MyBlock. I just created a profile and it very easily walked me through all the steps and getting the right documents uploaded. This year, was a very similar experience. I just went through the series of questions, uploaded what it asked me for, and boom, done! Gus was very good about calling me if he had a question about something. This year, I did receive a letter from the IRS regarding a return a few years ago. With all the scams going around, I wasn't sure if it was legitimate or even what was going on with it. I contacted Ray and we set up an appointment to help get it sorted out. One thing that really stood out to me with my experience with Ray was how organized he was. You could tell he was expecting me, he had everything printed and labeled, including an envelope with the address already printed on it. I don't understand a lot of the tax stuff but it meant the world to me that Ray took the time to make sure I was taken care of when it came to this situation. This year, Michael Hashimoto did my taxes and did a phenomenal job. I am always impressed with how quickly they are completed and then approved. I wouldn't recommend using any other service for your tax needs!
