From day one Natalie was prompt in returning my phone calls, emails and her staff continued with that policy. As a client that would be needing seven (7) tax returns completed I asked her for a price up front and it was the same amount when the bill came due, no surprises or add in charges. I am probably one of the few people in the US that actually reviews their tax returns every year and they were spot on. Not only were they correct but Natalie even told us that if we made a payment to our IRA how much it would lower our tax bill. I am very happy and satisfied that I was refereed to Platform Tax & Consulting and will continue to do business with them hopefully for the next 22 plus years.

I had to reschedule our appointment day of due to an unforeseen circumstance and was able to get on her schedule later that week, and she was so understanding. I stopped by her office for my appointment and was out the door less than an hour later. I sent her some documents later that evening, and she messaged me within a couple hours saying they were completed. I was willing to pay him a straight fee for the consultation. He spent 20 or so minutes looking at the numbers and said I should have a small gain. I specifically asked if I needed to sell more stock at a loss to offset those gains and he said NO. I should get a small refund. After his secretary called me to come in and sign the forms she casually said that I owe over $8,000 combined. He didn't have the courtesy to call me directly. Both voicemails have been full for 5 days so I couldn't leave a message and he did not respond to my email. I finally spoke to him and he casually said just sell some stock to pay for it. No apology, no admittance of his error, no responsibility. This is the second time a UT CPA has screwed up my taxes. The first time this big firm just forgot to file my taxes and if I hadn't called to follow up would not have noticed they forgot. WRD

It is that time of the year again ... tax time. For many people the programs we can download or use…read moreonline are sufficient for preparing taxes; but for some who have uber deductions or wonky incomes you need a good accountant. Well the staffers at Thorne are excellent! To be honest and forthright, they are our corporate accountants at the office, not my actual personal accountant because (as mentioned before) I can do my taxes at home. But I do visit Thorne almost monthly for the corporate stuff. Our personal accountant in the office is great. He is always available to answer questions about General Ledger codes, or reports, or even billing. I enjoy going to their office because I am always greeting with a smile and sometimes a cookie. I drop off work for them to do and they give me a cookie? Seems like a fair trade! Their building is older, and kind of a maze, but do not let that fool you. They are great at what they do. If I had harder personal taxes I would for sure use them for that. I am glad they are around so I do not have more work to do for our company.
