In honor of #ServiceStarShoutout day on Yelp today, I'm reviewing this strategically located service station/truck stop in Carrizozo, NM I used during my last trip out of El Paso, TX. I usually stop here for refueling (surprisingly lower cost than some) my car and refueling myself with drinks & snacks when I'm traveling from Santa Rosa, NM (1-40) to El Paso, TX on US 54. It's about 1/2 way between those two points. If you need some gas, you really need to stop here before you go on too long because there's literally nothing here and Alamogordo about 60 miles away on US 54 unless you're willing to make a stop in Ruidoso or Cloudcroft really out of your way (and why would you do that when you're running low on your gas?). The bathrooms are clean, and the store is well stocked with all the normal snacks, drinks, water, ice cream, and automotive needs, etc. Customer service is good here. read more

Pump made me signup for rewards to use required me to do so many other things just to pump the gas it is a terrible place don't go here

After filling up in Las Cruces, and riding to Ruidoso and Capitan (which is a beautiful ride btw), I was showing about 35 mikes left on my range gauge when I arrived in Carrizozo. I was thankful to find this fueling station in the middle of nowhere (no disrespect Carrizozo as I'm sure you have some really fine citizens and businesses ... but you really are in the middle of nowhere). I was pleasantly surprised to find the fuel here 30 cents per gallon cheaper than in Las Cruces - Wow! You'll also find 12 pumping stations for autos/trucks, and separate pumps to the north for Semi truck drivers. There's plenty of room for maneuvering in case you're in a motor home or towing a trailer. The bathrooms are clean, and the store is well stocked with all the normal snacks, ice cream, etc.. and automotive needs. The little human interaction I had was upon leaving the store the employees wished me a happy day (1 extra star). If you're traveling south towards Alamogordo (60 miles away) and getting low on fuel, I recommend you stop in, get some fuel, try some of their ice cream, stretch, relax for a few minutes, and be thankful for businesses like this - especially in the middle of nowhere!! :) #ThankfulThursday read more

On our way to a nearby town for a wedding and decided to fill up on fuel. Found the prices to actually be less the Albuquerque. It was clean and plenty of room to move around and stretch your legs. If you have pets it is a friendly environment for them to take a walk. Totally recommend read more

First off DON'T EVER STOP AT THIS PLACE! I stopped here while driving through to grab snacks for 3 kids and use the bathroom. First thing, Bathroom out of order with no alternative (Tree out back or something) posted. Then after standing in line for 15 min while both registers were working on western Union (Use Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay, or something modern) I hear the lady working the register say "that one messed up so we have to start over" which meant Throw the full coffee away and have the kids put their snacks back and leave. I knew there was a reason I never stopped here while driving through. read more

Customer service is always excellent. The location is always very clean bathrooms as well. The only complaint is the food and drinks are hellacious over priced I guess because it one of few places for over 40 miles. read more

There are Allsups convenience stores all across New Mexico outside metro areas. They are always locally manned and friendly. I will sometimes have all my meals and gas at different Allsups as I travel the state. They are even great for getting directions to local spots you are trying to find. A New Mexico institution. read more

This gas station is not a good example of New Mexico. Allsup's usually has a good reputation. The restroom in this gas station was very likely the nastiest restroom I have ever seen. It would be difficult to believe that it has had a good cleaning in a VERY long time. There were numerous flies in the restroom, paper everywhere, mold on the back of the door. The corrosion on the sink faucets was hard to believe. The gentleman was pleasant, but goodness that bathroom is a disgrace. My husband reports the male restroom was horrible as well. read more

If you've been to New Mexico, you've seen an Allsup's. They are like 7-11, but unique to the Southwest. They also rock because they offer mini chimichangas and burritos, 24/7. I always get a Chimi with picante sauce when I come through this Allsup's because there's a lot of nothing either way you go out of town. This Allsup's is conveniently located, and the gas aint too expensive. They also sell lotto tickets, so pick up a sixer, a chimi, and some scratchers and make it a good night. read more

The most disgusting bathrooms I have ever come across! They are swarming with a fly infestation. Poop and urine all over the toilets, leaking sinks. The employees clearly want nothing to do with these bathrooms. So disgusted. read more
