This place as huge as it has this store, a TCBY, and a Cinnabon all inside, plenty of seating and they bring your order to you after you order at the counter. The order taker was not very friendly and did not appear to enjoy her job at all. She did not like when I declined to tip her for typing a few keys on the keypad. Sandwich was great, I had the classic deluxe, the double meat version of the classic. This is the best bread for sandwiches anywhere but today mine was either stale or over toasted but the sandwich was still great. One thing was missing and that was the shredded lettuce which was pulled due to potential contamination based on a recall. I liked the open area, good lighting, and clean tables. read more

Cookies (chocolate chip macadamia nut, oatmeal raisin) BBQ pizza come with only chicken and cheese. No jalapeños. Bug deal for the person who ordered it. He only orders this because he loves jalapeños. Missing oatmeal cookie. I called and spoke to Janet. Told her what happened and half order was good. Half bad. She said she was turning me over to assistant manager Jacob. Jacob: ya what's the problem (in a rude tone) Me: perhaps you should start by saying how can I help you? My orders messed up? This place is literally one of my favorite places to eat because the sandwiches are so tasty! The one issue with this Schlotzsky's is that they close at 5pm during the week. When I get out of work I would love to order me a sandwich online and then pick it up but you can do that at this location. I will say if you are lucky enough to get a sandwich when they are open for 5 hours you will be impressed. I have never had a bad sandwich and the customer service is great. Favorite sandwich if the beef cheesy. Def recommend the sandwich. Just make sure your hungry between 11-4 pm. read more

Yesterday we went to eat here. We watched the employee who was sticking toothpicks in the sandwiches and delivering them to tables handle trash off the floor and touch all parts of the toothpicks before sticking them in the sandwiches or back in the holder. We left. That needs to be addressed. He did not have on gloves but that wouldn't matter if still picking up trash and messing with food. Multiple times he touched the trash can. May need to go over this with employees. We will try another time. read more

I love Schlotzky's and unfortunately the only one in Alaska closed. So anytime I'm in Ruidoso to visit family, I make a stop here. Amazing how well organized this store is. Always packed at lunch, but the staff kicks ass and cranks out the orders so fast that even during the lunch rush, the wait time is minimal. Great job! read more

We didn't want to fight the weekend crowds by waiting for a table in a restaurant, so we decided to get takeout from Schlotzsky's instead. Online order didn't work perfectly, but the staff were pleasant when we went inside to pick up our order. Of course, it took longer to receive it than the website stated, but not terribly long considering how busy they were. All of our food was great and tasted fresh, plus they prepared everything correctly! We don't usually go for chain restaurants when we're looking to eat out but during a recent Ruidoso trip we decided last minute to grab some dinner before driving home. As usual I checked yelp to find some where to eat and most of the places on the main road in town were super busy so we decided to just give Schlotzsky's a shot. The young lad taking the orders seemed a bit confused and overwhelmed which made ordering our food a painful experience. We only ordered 3 kids meals and a sandwich each for my husband and I so I am not sure what was so difficult but he eventually grasped the order and we paid for our bill. They do offer a military discount which was nice, but they forgot to give us one of our cookies and all of the juice boxes for the kids meals which we had to ask twice for as the lad we asked kept forgetting to bring them to our table. The food didn't take long to come out and it was all fresh and hot so in regards to the food I would give them a 4 because it was decent but my overall rating was down graded due to the other issues we had. read more

This place always has great food! But, they are usually busy due to their unique location. However, we had a cluster f*** in which I ordered originally, but needed to cancel minutes later (and gather our order correctly from my wife/ mom, etc.). The manager lady canceled my order QUICKLY and was super cool about it. My wife then ordered on the phone, went to pick it up (website said they were out of sourdough bread?). However, Manger lady (brown hair with glasses I think?) was again SUPER COOL and helpful and helped my wife out with all our kids menu food, soups, (and changed out the rye bread with sourdough bread that they JUST got into the store). We have been to this location 3 times in the last month. Their food is very good and the restaurant was clean with the tables spread out sufficiently for Covid restrictions. Our one complaint is the a high percentage of the staff (all wore masks) were wearing their masks below their nose. This practice renders the mask useless. This deli is conveniently located and the food is really good. You have a wide selection of sandwiches, pizzas and soups available to you, all in differing sizes. I like The Original, because it comes with black olives and you can dump the Schlotzsky's Louisiana Hot Sauce all over it for a little pep. The inside furnishings are kind of sparse and a little utilitarian, but that's not a bad thing. They've done a good job of 'hiding' the lack of adornment by dotting little jars of this and that all over, in combination with a red, green and white color scheme throughout. It's like a *real* deli, but not so much. Tip: For a little added fun, give a fake, outrageous name for your order. I like to use "Humperdink" because there's nothing more funny than hearing over the loudspeaker: "Humperdink, your order is ready." read more

The server that took my order even hung up on me after I asked a very valid question and his poor attitude was entirely unnecessary, he even laughed at me.
