I usually wind up here just passing through and have had a hard time finding something reliable that's Not A Chain, so this fits the bill. It's a little on the expensive side, but whatever. It's like a hundred dollars to step out of your house anymore. I got out of here just under twenty bucks for a double New Mexico burger, a large fry, and a shake. The patties aren't really seasoned, but they're cooked well, and if you add the chopped chiles and some bacon, you'll be just fine. The seasoned fries are tasty. The shakes are average, but sometimes that chocolate syrup predictability is exactly what you need after hours of driving. The folks working here are friendly and diligent. So, despite the fact I spend most of my time in Tucumcari asleep, this burger definitely woke me up out of the zombie haze that i40 does to people. Looking forward to my next stop here.
