The other companies provided similar pricing, included debris removal, and were able to clearly explain what was included in their quotes. When I asked for a breakdown of the $3,000 price so I could understand the difference and what I was paying for, I was not provided with an itemized explanation. Instead, I was told that I could choose another company if I did not like the price. As a customer, I believe it is reasonable to ask questions when there is a substantial price difference. I understand that every company prices their work differently and that quality work has value. However, transparency and professionalism are also important parts of customer service. Providing a clear explanation of labor, equipment, disposal, and other costs would have helped me make an informed decision. Ultimately, I decided not to move forward because I was not comfortable with the lack of clarity surrounding the quote. Frazier from Above and Beyond Tree Care stopped in while in my neighborhood and asked if I had any tree projects coming up, He and I walked my property and looked at the trees I thought were a problem, he agreed and asked me if I wanted a quote which he quickly turned around in less than 24 hour via a text, he also provide me with their liability and workman's comp. insurance documents without me having to ask - he answered a few questions I had and we scheduled the work without any payment up-front. He crew of (4) arrived on the day we agreed on with all their equipment and went to work - these guys are professional and very friendly and were respectful of my property. I had identified (5) very tall palm trees in some very tight areas and (1) oak tree I wanted to save but cleaned up and trimmed. These guys definitely worked as a team and made short work of the job and checked to make sure everything was completed to my satisfaction as well as the clean up. They were very professional used ladders and harnesses and did an excellent job (better than last year). Then they cleaned up the yard and had everything hauled away. Looks really great. It's amazing the two different experiences on here. My husband generally stands out and supervises too... My neighbors were ripped off by "tree guys" who got paid left heaps of palm debris in their yards and it was a nightmare finding a company to clean up the mess. I say that because I think finding decent/honest laborers is difficult.

I am fortunate to say that of all those contractors, I can count the number whose work was deficient on one hand. Of those with items of concern, ALL have been willing to talk and work through the issues. This company was sadly the ONLY exception I've ever dealt with and a grave disappointment. After seeing photos of the work (I live out of state), and having the work evaluated by a number of others in person, all of whom agreed the work was laughable at best (far less material than promised, and "sod" that looked to be nothing more than scraps of grass gathered from previous project), I reached out to the owner to have a conversation and hopefully work through the issue. The owner was not only unwilling to listen and discuss my concerns but resorted to what seemed to me to be threats and intimidation as his means of dealing with the issue. I had never dealt with this and needless to say I was shocked and saddened by his approach. The owner wanted to brag about his 30 years of experience (He later added another 10 years, I assume to sound more convincing), without seeming to understand that QUANTITY matters nothing, when QUALITY is completely missing. I would advise staying away from this company.
