He was nice to talk to and gave us ideas about bathroom remodel, so we liked him. Since we are new to the country, we paid him all the money for our bathroom remodel, all our savings. Initial first month was okay, but after that the frequency reduced significantly. The work promised to be finished in a month extended to 4 months with 2 months of him not showing up and then he said he has family emergency and left the state. We waited for him to be back, but even after coming back, he never showed up. In the end, we asked for our money back, to which he agreed, but he has paid only 40% and it's been another 6 months of waiting while we are still waiting for our 60% of the money. It's almost been 9 months since this issue, we filed an ROC, but they didn't help either, saying he has verbally promised to pay it back so he will. We really hope to get our money back someday, the hard earned money that he probably used up in all his vacations.
