There is a student at the school who has put her ALL into perfecting her craft and studying with the best cosmetology school in Georgia!! Her name is "Bella" Grace Chromey (I hope her last name is spelled correctly). She is the best hairstylist I have EVER had...(and I'm old). This school does a fantastic job in educating students and provides all services to the public at a lower price than established salons. The "teachers"/monitors carefully guide the students to learning all the great skills that are needed and I love this place. Absolutely the WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! I have high anxiety about my hair as it is. Biggest mistake was trusting that an instructor would assist the student in ensuring my hair came out correctly. Well no instructor assisted at all. Now my hair is copper and orange highlights when I asked for blonde highlights. The owner said he always charges full price even if you are not happy. It's up to you to use your own gas money to drive back and spend even more of your time to get it fixed. It was an hour drive for me, and I'm sorry but this cut and color is far from being worth $179. Oh but he did give a 25% discount which in itself is pathetic. So we just paid $132 or something like that for my hair to be destroyed. This was 4 hours of my life sitting there, plus the hour drive there and hour drive home. So I spent 6 hours today to be forced to pay $132 to get my hair destroyed. They are trying to say my hair is "close to the picture" I showed. I guess if you consider copper and bronze close to blonde. However, I wanted blonde highlight. Not copper or bronze. Now my hair is ruined for my 40th birthday with no way to get it fixed! The owner of this place is an absolutely inappropriate jerk. The instructors DO NOT ASSIST THE STUDENTS. THEY ARE JUST ALLOWED TO DESTROY HAIR AS THEY PLEASE. THE OWNER IS TEACHING THEM IF THEY DESTROY SOMEONES HAIR ITS OK TO STILL CHARGE FOR IT. I should also mention my scalp has been burning since I left there! read more

I went here for a perm. First time and last time. I told the girl who was doing my hair that I felt a burning sensation. And she gave me a towel then went to grab a band aid. The instructor gave me a bendryal. And I paid full price still. I have third degree burns and can't turn my neck. And a small burn on my forehead. read more

My friend is a regular here and scheduled an appointment for the both of us on a Saturday. Their schedule stays full on the weekends so you'll need to schedule an appointment. It made me a little nervous to have students practice on my hair, though it couldn't be worse than coloring my own hair, which I've stopped doing. Before anything is done, an instructor approves everything and makes sure the student knows what they're doing which was comforting. I decided on full foil highlights, deep conditioning treatment and a trim. There was an additional $10 for glaze that I wasn't aware of, but I was okay with that since my total for everything was around $75. I was there longer than I expected, but in the end the results were great. Same results as a high end salon at a fraction of the cost. I wasn't impressed with my trim, but I was with the highlights. I will be back soon for partial highlights under $30. I did see a sign while I was there offering free hair cuts with color services on certain days of the week, like a happy hour special. The salon at Keune is my new go-to for all matters hair!!! I called late morning today and was able to get an appointment early this afternoon. I came in with a hair catastrophe and was set up with the best super-senior ever, Dejeana! What really impressed me was how much effort was put into the pre-cut consultation. I talked at length together with my stylist and 2 instructors to make sure we were all clear on the goals and strategy for my hair. I've been to other salons and often wondered if the stylist listened to me; this was not a problem at Keune! An instructor came by before every step of the process (sectioning, washing, clippers, texturing, styling) to check the work and make sure we were on the right track. Other older students without clients also chimed in. Yes it was long-winded, but I did get the benefit of 10 stylists making sure no step was over looked. The whole process took maybe 90 minutes and $18 before tip (prices vary by what level student you work with) and I left slayin' it!!!! (I'm uploading pics of D's amazing work!) read more

Went here a week ago today. I am loving my cut and highlights from Gabrielle - a senior level student! She gave me a lot of tips on how to keep my hair heathy and repair damage from past colorings, even pointing out that my haircut from a salon had been uneven and fixing it. I really like the color she added and have gottwn so many compliments from coworkers, friends, and family. It looks natural and sun-kissed, which is exactly what it wanted. The cut is awesome too! She did exactly the amount of layers I needed and gave me a cut I really love and that really fits me. I already made my next appointment with her and am looking forward to it. I would reccomend this place to anyone who is on a budget but still wants amazing service. I will keep going here and have reccomended her to my mom, friends and coworkers. If you want to waste 6 hours of your time to have your hair look like the exact opposite of what you ask for, then this is your go to place. I went in wanting a very specific style, but my stylist literally used me as a guinea pig for practice. I wasn't told the price of the style initially as they are supposed to do so I was charged twice as much for some hideous poodle looking hair do. I did appreciate the time she put into it but then again, it took her that long because she sucked and had no idea what she was doing. Needless to say, I will not be going back. read more

I came in for a hair cut. I got pair with a level 2 when I requested a level 3 but that's okay. The experience was a little stressful for me only because I have very long hair. I came in, met my student stylist and we discussed what was expected. I knew I had to loose inches due to color damage and split ends, which I was okay with. She spoke very confidently about being able to complete the tasks. Every step was overseen by an instructor, which was very comforting. My student stylist was a quick learner but could benefit from more experiences, which is not a shot at her, technique just comes with time and experience. When our cut was complete, I hated the finished product, just too blunt and boxy for me but she and her instructor came through and fixed the problem areas. Overall, I left happy. Side note: have patience and don't expect too much perfection at the end and you'll have a good time. They are learning. read more

They are a rip off and have bait and switch practice of worst sort! I went to beauty school for highlight which was advertised at $56 with a super senior stylist. However at the start of service, they quoted $72. Once the service was over, I went to pay and they charged me whopping $94! They said they added this or that (color or tone or whatever) which they NEVER disclosed at the time of service or made me aware. a highlight is a highlight. To separately charge for minor things that are part of main procedure of highlight (say they have to shampoo or tone or bleach) should not be extra and it cannot go from $56 to $94. If I had to pay that sort of money, I would have gone to a real salon and not to some beauty school. This beauty school is rip off and stay away. My highlight is so-so to below average. There is nothing great about it. I will NEVER return to this fraudulent place. The students had NO customers and were working on model. Maybe because they have zero return-repeat business due to their fraudulent business practices!!! read more

I moved from FL to attend Keune Academy by 124, that speaks volume about this school. The moment I toured I knew this would be the place to help me pursue a lifetime dream. The educators are sincerely interested in the students achievements. The curriculum is well planned and designed to educate the students to not only pass State Board but to use their skills and knowledge in the salons post graduation. The clients are diverse which helps the students to learn services for all hair types as well as different personalities they will encounter in the real working world of the hair industry. I enjoyed my experience here as a student that I decided to come back to the school to become an Educator. Again, the training program for student instructors is outstanding like the student program. I've been here about 3 times so far.All visits left me satisfactory and with a smile on my face! The trick with beauty/hair schools is that you have to choose the students that are really close to graduating. Most of these girls go onto bigger salons that charge an arm and a leg for the same thing u pay here. At this salon they're referred to as level 3 or phase 3 students. Definitely request a level 3! You must know that since they are still learning that they take their time. my appointments in the past were never under 2 hours..even for a haircut.but they pay attention to detail which is why. The pricing for each level is listed on the website but if you call this location and ask what type of specials they have for NEW clients youll save $$. 1st visit was a basic haircut (free because I was a new client), awesome of course. The great thing about the girls at this school is the majority are aged in their early 20s so they are up to date on modern styles and cuts and looks!! 2nd visit, I got my entire hair color changed. i went from natural black hair to a dark brown, it was beautiful. 3rd I initially had my heart set onto highlights because it was the brink of summer.somehow the girl coaxed me into trying OMBRE.i was totally freaked out and felt kindof pushed into it because then like 5 more students agreed with her and i just felt like it was 6 against 1 haha. face it, we have all had that once experience where the hairstylist bullies you into something.however, she knew what she was doing.i felt iffy about it at first because it was so different and my decision to do ombre was spur of the moment.but when I received 20+ compliments on my new hair color from other/random people, I too fell in love with it!! The only con about this entire thing is that whoever does your hair (if they are a level three), will most likely be graduated and gone by the next time you come. It sucks because i totally fell in love with the personalities of my stylists!! its super hard to find a good stylist these days. OK...If you are all about saving money then read this..I have been going to The Process on and off for over three years. I have had haircuts but mainly full highlights and or having my hair colored. They have always done what I wanted and to my liking. I have long thick hair and I can get a full foil highlight for $50.00 but that's if I go with Phase 3 student (about to graduate). They have Phase 1 and 2 which are newer students and the pricing is cheaper if you choose one of them. I usually do not because they tend to take longer but I have in the past. If you are not happy with your color or cut instructors are there to guide and advise and sometimes assist with what a client is requesting. I have never had an issue and you would never know I am not spending $$$$ for my hair. The place is always packed and on WED if you get a color service you can also get a complementary haircut. Also if you ask you stylist for referrals coupons and you get someone to come in a book an appointment with them you will then get a free service for the referral. read more

I have to say, I have had my hair done in a lot of salons from fancy pants salons to run of the mill whatever cuts and I was more than satisfied with my hair cut. My stylist was fun and personable, but she also did a great job with my hair. I am definitely coming back.
