As much as I hate to leave negative reviews, this one cannot be helped. With my new dental insurance, I had to select a primary provider from a list of approved providers. After calling a few options, I found that most nearby offices had no appointments available for six months, except for one (Dr. Tan Q, Tran). This very open schedule should have been my first clue. When I pulled into the parking lot, I noticed that the office had a broken side window. It didn't look recent, which wasn't a good sign. The reception area was neat, but the place looked rundown. After providing my information, the receptionist asked me to take a seat while they verified my details and confirmed Dr. Tran as my primary provider. While waiting, I could hear the staff's conversations clearly. They were loudly passing a phone around, exclaiming, "Can you believe this, brah?" "Oh my god, brah, that is crazy!" "I know brah, can you believe it?" Not the most professional environment. The person who brought me back was pleasant and took me for a single panoramic X-ray, followed by 4 standard bitewing X-rays. However, they charged my insurance for an additional panoramic X-ray that did not occur, and the bitewing machine was shaking the entire time, making me question the quality of the X-rays. The dentist came in within less than five minutes of the X-rays being complete, which surprised me, and he charged my insurance for a comprehensive oral review, not sure how he even had time to look at my X-rays let alone a comprehensive review. He introduced himself quickly and said we would do a simple cleaning today and I should come back for a deep cleaning. When I asked for an explanation, he mentioned I had minor bone loss and needed the deep cleaning for thorough care. I asked if a hygienist would clean my teeth, but he said they had no hygienist, and he would do the basic cleaning. The cleaning was rushed, lasting literally five minutes, and he was not gentle despite me telling him of my sensitivity. He instructed his assistant to polish my teeth afterward. Throughout this brief interaction he mentioned the deep cleaning 3 times. I've never been told by any previous dentist that I had minor bone loss and I had never heard of deep cleaning up until this point, as I take extremely good care of my teeth. The assistant was very nice and did a good job, but when I asked about the bone loss, she couldn't give me a clear answer and seemed uncertain when looking at the blurry x-rays she pulled up. At checkout, I chose to stand rather than sit on the filthy stained chairs. The office was rundown, with a stained and ruined waterfall wall with no water. The receptionist asked when I would like to schedule the deep cleaning, and I just looked at her, then she said, "Well, it's optional" and I said no thank you. She said, "ok we're done," so I left. I have never had such an unprofessional experience at a dentist's office. This dentist seems to be pushing deep cleanings to make more money from insurance companies and charge for extra X-rays that did not happen, additionally they have no website seems shady. I would stay far away from this place, and I will be reporting them, as I'm not confident they have the appropriate licensing to work in my mouth. Just WOW. So mad at myself for not doing better upfront research. Lesson learned. read more

I am very appreciative for this doctor who took me in while I was on vacation in Las Vegas and had a sudden toothache. He accepted me without insurance and charged me a pretty affordable rate so that I could be relieved of the excruciating pain that I was in. He's so graciously stayed late, as I arrived at his office at 4 p.m. and he still had a full patient load awaiting him. He stayed and fixed my tooth so that I could enjoy the rest of my vacation with comfort and initiated a root canal. I also appreciate the fact that he stayed Beyond his closing time all the way till 8 p.m. to help me in my situation. He didn't complain that I didn't have appropriate insurance and allowed me to pay in cash for his Services, which was less than what he would normally charge. I would like to extend great appreciation for the staff of this dental office. They're quickness to respond to my request and the doctors generosity and seeing me after hours. I was in Las Vegas for a week and having to think about going through that pain for the rest of the time during my vacation I think I would have just not have been happy at all. I'm back home in Hawaii now, and I can't even get my own dentist to finish fixing this tooth for a decent price, I may be coming back with the rates and they're charging me. LOL. read more

I've been coming here for the past 2 years after a HORRIFIC experience with Dr. Monica Ponce's Office "Tender Dental" across town, and I absolutely LOVE and recommend Allure Dental to coworkers, friends, and family. Dr. Tran and his staff are gentle and very caring. I had some nervousness trying a new dental office, but Dr. Tran fixed problems I was having that other offices around town could not. This office explains everything, Dr. Tran has even walked me through concerns he saw on my X-Rays, I've never had that done before! This is where I went to get my second opinion and I wish I went here to begin with. First dentist gave me a laundry list of things that needed to be fixed w/the total coming out to $2k+ out of pocket (w/insurance). I booked an appointment on Friday for Monday morning, was seen in less than 10 minutes. I was given a much smaller list of 4 small cavities & a deep cleaning, all for the high price of $0 (all covered by insurance). I will be going here from now on & recommending to everyone! I was referred here by my father, who absolutely loves Dr. Tran. I've been looking for six years now to find a dentist who can help me figure out why my tooth has been hurting so bad. I had high hopes for this office. The front desk is so friendly and so helpful. I have nothing but positive things to say about the front desk staff. Once I got to the back it was different. One of the dental assistants lead me back and asked to confirm I was there for a cleaning. I told him no, I'm here for a toothache, but I should probably get a cleaning done after that. He seemed a little lost to be honest. It took him multiple times to get the X-rays of my teeth, and the little plastic piece they put into your mouth for them cut roof of my mouth. Not the worst thing to ever happen, I just got the idea he might be new. The doctor came not long after that and asked where I was feeling pain. I pointed to the tooth at the front and told him it's hurt for about six years. It feels better if I'm chewing on something, and it gets worse as the day goes on. So he has me lay back and starts tapping on teeth and asking if they hurt. When he gets to the tooth at the front, I tell him yes it hurts. So does the one right next to it that's already had a root canal several years ago. Here's where it went bad. He just kept hitting those two teeth and asking which one hurt worse. I kept saying they both hurt and flinching visibly every time he did it. Then he had me bite down on a little wooden stick and asked if that hurt, I said no...like I said earlier, chewing helps with the pain temporarily. And then he went back to hitting my teeth. And then back to biting on the stick. Until I flinched away and asked him to stop. He apologized a few times, said he didn't know what was wrong but a root canal may or may not help. Then referred me to a specialist to get checked for the root canal that may or may not help. Then I was taken up to the front. I was holding back tears at this point because my tooth hurt so bad from him repeatedly hitting it with the metal tool. And he stood there asking me if it still hurt, as I'm sitting there cradling my jaw. Like he can't quite believe that I'm in pain. I got no answers for what it might be. I paid $50 to have a man come and beat on my front teeth. He didn't listen to what I said helped or didn't help, just that patients don't usually have this problem. So obviously just hitting my teeth will help. He did offer to prescribe me pain meds, which I declined. I don't want pain medicine, I want a doctor who can help me. Someone who acts like they went to school for this and listens when they're told the patient is in pain so please stop hitting my teeth. I'm so upset. So disappointed. I want my money back. My entire jaw is aching today because of what he did. I'm so tired of trying to find someone to help. Not only did this doctor not help me, he made it worse and acted completely baffled that he caused damage. read more

My review is going to be strange because I do like this dentist a lot but there are things that I know that other patients might not appreciate. I will try to be totally honest and unbiased. I have been to the office several times with some difficult work that needed to be done. Going back soon to finish my work, so far I have been very pleased. Side note: All dentists like to make comments about how messed up my gums are...it is really annoying and I am already aware of it. I have hereditary gum disease and also medical issues that make my gums crappy. All dentists need to stop making me feel bad about it, I cant help it and I take great care of my teeth and gums. STOP. Pros: -Offers great options for hours! I appreciate the late appts and have always been able to get in. There is no other office with better hours and I am thrilled to be able to get in and get treated. -Front desk lady is LOVELY! Seriously one of the best, most thorough, friendly medical professionals I have ever come across. I actually enjoy seeing her and she explains everything in detail. -Doctor is really nice and I can tell he does a very thorough examination. Some of the work that the assistant normally does, he has done. His treatment is good and he works fast. I like that he can do almost everything day of. -Very, very clean and calm office. I love how quiet and cool it is in there. Makes me feel more comfortable. -My referral was spot on, loved the specialist he referred me to. -Dentist has kept a really thorough collection of my records and knows what I am back for each time. Cons: -Although he is fast, he isn't super gentle. There have been times I was surprised and had to take some breaths to calm down. I did not ask him to be gentle, but I am a bit scared of the Dentist so if you were very scared you may want to clearly tell him this. -Sometimes his English is hard to understand. Sometimes its great but when I am in the middle of a treatment and I am trying to breath and feel really nervous I go into my happy place and I may not be paying close attention. I miss that he is talking to me and I cant understand him. -Dentist and Assistant don't really explain what they are doing. They get to work fast and get it done which I truly appreciate it but i wish he would tell me what he is doing before he does it. I had to ask several times and if I didn't ask I literally was laying there wondering what they were doing. I need to be prepared for pain, shots, drilling, all of it. -I have never drooled so much in my entire life, I dont know why the assistant was so stingy with suction. One point he told me not to swallow bc he was putting something gross in my mouth and then it took 5-7 minutes for him to finish the side work. I was gagging before he finally handed me the suction and I really needed water. Overall...I will absolutely be back. I have had really bad experiences at Dentists and so far I am really happy with this team. In my mind the pros outweigh the cons! read more

I had to get a wisdom tooth extracted today and I have to say Dr Tran is the best dentist I have ever had! When I said it was painless, I mean it. I didn't feel the numbing injections at all and just a little pressure after that. If I needed more numbing, he was on it. (I think I may have accidentally bit him, sorry) I kid you not, he was done in 5 minutes! Always able to fit me in within reasonable time and his staff are amazing, from his assistant to the receptionist who is so sweet up front! Okay before I even describe my procedure I just want to say Dr. Tran is amazing. I had an appointment yesterday 8/30. His staff is very professional and there is hardly a wait. My teeth are very stubborn, and I had braces in the past that really weakened all of my molars. A couple months ago one had finally broken in half, and was causing me tremendous pain. I decided to get it extracted. My friend, her husband went to another location but they still referred me to this company in general. This location had a next day appointment! The receptionist was sweet and gave a really good welcome. The office is very spacious and I didn't feel like I was right on top of the next patient. The Dental assistant came in right away and took a couple X-rays, and walked me through the whole process. Dr. Tran came in not to long after. He examined my mouth, numbed me up, checked on his other patients while the medicine took effect. He came back, and took his time with trying to pull the tooth. My teeth are VERY stubborn, and would not budge. He exhibited a lot of patience and professionalism ensuring I was okay during the whole thing. Appointment was at 9am. I was out before 10am! Here it is next day, and I have no pain at all. Will be going back! read more
