Don't go here! I went in early evening about 3:30 p.m. To have my acrylic nails removed. I sat at the second table from the front on the right. The female nail tech took a blue colored drill bit and began the service to thin the acrylic before soaking the remainder off. Instead she filled straight through the false nail and through my natural nail down to my flesh now l have an open wound that will be there until may natural nail grows out. No manager would speak to me when I asked her for one also she never would disclose her name. I was told I wouldn't have to pay for the removal and was given a "sorry" and a band-aide. I don't think the people there are licensed and I will be contacting the state department of health. I've been having my nails done 30 years and never had someone drill down to the flesh I will attach pictures and a picture of the woman who did it. read more

I had a great overall experience at Allure Nails at Akers Mill Plaza and would definitely consider returning. Before arriving, I called ahead and was told they'd be able to service me in about 20 minutes. It only took me around 10 minutes to get there, and once I arrived, I waited roughly five minutes before Hong was ready to start. The timing was efficient and respectful, which I really appreciated. Hong did an excellent job bringing my vision to life. I received a short acrylic set on my hands, along with a fill and gel polish on my toes. Both services were done at the same time, which made the appointment quick and convenient. I was able to get in and out without feeling rushed, but still felt like quality work was done. The workmanship itself was solid. My nails came out exactly how I wanted, and the polish application was clean and precise. The salon was also very clean and well-maintained, which always matters to me. That said, I do feel that the total price of $150 was a bit on the higher side for the services received. While I still tipped because the service was good, I would personally prefer clearer, itemized pricing upfront before paying next time so there are no surprises. Overall, good service, clean environment, and talented nail techs. I got a new set this evening ... I'm disappointed to say the least I wanted a longer acrylic set that was round square at the end and curved front to back and side to side not narrow and not wide ... I trusted that the nail tech could do this as he kept telling me he could .. HE DID NOT after nearly 1-1/2hours I left in frustration ... all of my nails look like are about to TAKE OFF AND NONE LOOK CURVED He continued to file UNDER my nail He repeatedly nicked me with the router sanding tool and the buffing block ... he never even apologized when he drew blood ... he never brought in help when I said how unhappy I was I had been there numerous times before ... I've had mostly good service but sometimes a lil off ... but nothing like this no other tech came over no manager was to be found ... I came in at 5:30 ... not at closing ... Because he kept filing incorrectly they are all misshapen and have odd rough spots and are hollowed out under the nail ... they are all different lengths and way shorter than I wanted and what we agreed on ... It showed up as a white glitter opaque shade in the booklet but it was only a sheer glitter nail color so they tried to add white color on top to fix it but by the end I have 6 lays of gel polish on each toe. 2) I wanted a nude clear gel cat eye manicure. I showed videos and pictures and my nail artist still added a different nail design. I'm glad I asked her to test it out on 1 nail to see if I'd like it. Instead of trying to explain again what design I wanted, I told I'll just get a regular gel manicure instead. The she told the entire store something mentioning 'cat eye' in a different language (not sure if it's good or bad), but some of the other employees laughed. 3) The person doing my manicure cute my middle finger and I thought it was small but there was so much blood. The rest of the manicure, my finger was burning. I could've cried because i felt like I was made to be joke, I didnt feel understood and nothing came out how I wanted it even with photos/videos. lastly, today was my bridal shower and i was cut on my ring finger hand meaning I can't hide it from photos or when people ask to see my ring later. After the following day, my nails pilled out after 3 hours. Due to COVID-19 stay home orders my spring pedicure was on an indefinite hold and soon enough it was a week from summer...while in town for work I wanted to find a nail salon following safety guidelines as the state continues to reopen to give my feet the much needed TLC. I was pleasantly surprised to find the promised precautions in full effect from the moment of entry. Temperature taken via infrared to ensure I was without fever and then I was asked to review and sign a COVID acknowledgement and provide my phone number in the event of exposure notification need. Partitions were in place with social distance spacing forces with how all manicure and pedicure stations were set up. Everyone I saw was masked including patrons. Visibly seeing the precautions and implementation of each staff member helped me relax much faster than I anticipated. The massage chairs are comfy and staff very friendly. They very clearly take pride in their business and it makes for a wonderful experience. I will definitely be back the next time I need to sneak in a Pedi while in town! read more

I've visited this nail salon twice and both times the technicians did an excellent job. Very thorough and detailed. However, the best part is they both carried on pleasant conversation instead of treating you like another dollar in and out the door. The first time Henry performed my services. He was not in, so Jennifer performed my gel mani/pedi. I would recommend either one! Also, the salon was very clean and styled very nicely. Even more importantly seemed to be very hygienic and sanitary. All of the techs wore masks, and the tools were opened from their sanitizing pouches in front of me. The vibe was 90's RnB. And the others patrons respected the vibe by not talking loudly on the phone, and you would really have to be ear hustling to overhear conversations between the techs and their customers. It's been a while since I've come in here. But i needed a pedicure and didn't have time to drive to my regular lady. Kenny doesn't work here anymore. It looks like it's all new people in here. But i guess that's the day we're in right now. People switch jobs... i get it. The place looked a mess and it wasn't busy. Not sure If they had a before 5 rush on a Tuesday, but maybe that's what happened. But that should have been red flag number one. Likeeeeee it's trash in the floor, chairs not pushed in, towels all over the place. Splatter like something spilled. Legit dirty! Next the staff look like they rolled outta bed. I'm not saying they need to be glammed out, but you can be comfortable yet polished for work. Wash your hair or just pull it back. I get it... adulting is sometimes not on our list to do. The majority of the staff didn't have their fingers or toes done so that shoulda been my third red flag! Anywho i decided to proceed. My lady hands me the booklet listing the services without even a hello. And it's on the $70 pedicure page. As i look at the booklet, i turn the page to see the other options and she begins to speak to the others in the building. Of course idk what they are saying, but I'm sure it was I'm cheap! Which I'm ok with, but my feet don't require $70+ service She begins filing my nails before allowing them to soak. Like legit started my nails without them seeing a drop of water. One foot into the cuticles part And she stopped to go do someone's eyebrows. Starts back up and she doesn't remember where she left off. Not even 4 minutes jn, she stops again to fix someone else's polish! Guess this is my payback for not picking the right pedicure service. But I'm glad i didn't pay cause i woulda been mad about the interruption. I guess technically I'm still annoyed at the interruption because my time is my time. As she's doing the cuticle work, she's very interested in the shops activity! She's looking around and chatting while occasionally looking back at my feet. I'm literally praying she doesn't Nick me because she's not looking at my feet at allllll!! She only did one foot‍. I was kinda torn on whether or not to correct her cause i didn't feel like arguing and i just want to leave. I'm grateful my feet weren't jacked up! So the polish covered the poor pedi! HORRIBLE customer service!! I had a schedule appointment with Henry for 12:30. Apparently the manger wrote down the wrong time. I challenged him for his inaccuracies and her got upset. He refused service to me and called the police. He lied and told 911 I was "obnoxious " Well I waited for law enforcement to arrive to defend myself. Nothing happened to me but I was not going to be forced or threatened by law enforcement or the owner. I have rights. This place is horrible and they are RACIST toward African Americans. It's sad that some Asian come to our country and discriminate against African-Americans who brings 90% of their profit and clientele. This was a good decision-I was with a friend and we decided to get our nails done (I got a regular mani/pedi and she got a deluxe pedicure). Just happened to drive by. It was brand new inside. Two large TVs on each side, beautiful grey decor. The nail techs were quiet and professional. Every thing was super clean. They did a great and fast job on my nails and my feet were softer than I had ever gotten before at other salons. As I was talking a lot with my friend, I realized that my mouth was getting dry. I didn't even have to ask- one of the nail techs brought us cold bottled water. The salon was half filled in a Saturday afternoon so I could tell this was a new place that not many people knew about. The secret is about to be out soon, because they had great service with a great price ($42 for regular mani/pedi but I also gave a good tip)! read more

I was so disappointed in this place. First off they advertise that they open at 10. So last Wednesday was my daughters 3rd bday and decided I would take her as a little first time bday present. My daughter is 3. We were outside waiting until a car full of employees walks up to unlock the door right at 10. When they walked up I said good morning. Not one response which was awkward. The we all walk in they walk in the back and ask me nothing and I am just standing there waiting until someone different walks up and ask what I need. I explained a kids mani and pedi with gel. So no water was used no massaging of feet or legs literally cut and filed her nails and toes and put gel polish on and we were out in 22 minutes and was charged $40 for a 3 year old! I've been here 3 times and two of them have been good besides botched eyebrows once. The third time however, I made an appointment for a gel pedicure and sns nails with tips. They didn't give me gel on my toes and preceded to charge me for them (obviously I corrected them). Then, I asked for a design of simple flowers on one nail (my index finger) which they put on my pointer and it looked terrible. I expressed my concerns and got zero reaction. This place is always busy and the techs are rude. I got an SNS manicure and gel pedicure--which were poorly done. The techs rushed me out of there so they could take on more clients. It's always quantity vs quality with them even if you do tip well. The SNS started to come off in less than a week, I went back to get it repaired the a new tech redid all my nails but one. I was charged $10 no big deal but why fix all but one nail then get an attitude when I asked to fix it plus I did tip. About a week and a half after the pedicure the gel polish started peeling off.
