DECEITFUL! I came to get a simple polish change (not gel). I asked how much it would be and was told $15. The nail Tech runs my credit card, comes back to her station, then puts my receipt in her drawer. I asked for my receipt, which she repeats "you want receipt" and,i saud yes. Lady (owner?) cut me even though I was very still. Also, she PAINTED on all the dip which came out lumpy, spotty, uneven and very ugly! I have getting dip for YEARS and never seen anyone paint it. She blamed it on me having a tip but the nail tech next to her did his dip (the right way) on his client and it was beautiful. She gave me $10 off even tho she cut me and now I have to go somewhere else and removed her crappy work. I told her that I was upset cme she didn't care. She even looked at the nail tech whose work was beautiful and he explained he NEVER paints it on. I also have glue everywhere and thick dip deep under my nails. Working both shops I can never find her. Make appts w her & she is not there. Here staff always says they don't know where she is. "Try the other store.". They don't know either! Then Bebe said another 20 minute wait...all the while she took three other random people that walked through and did NOT have appointments. Came her with my gf for a pedicure and manicure. They took me back for a pedicure but didn't take my gf for her manicure for some reason. I am not sure how this place gets such good reviews. Last weekend I had a house guest in from out of town and she really wanted to get a mani-pedi. My usual place was too booked to get in on short notice. I didn't want my friend to be alone so I had a pedicure. I called earlier in the day for an appointment in the afternoon. I wasn't sure if I needed one or not. No problem getting in. No wait. The experience, itself, was not poor but the results were. Both of our pedicures were sub-par and do not look good. The man who did my pedi went over the polish randomly and it shows. The manicure my friend received did not look good on the sides and was bubbling on some of the nails. I am not sure what that is from but I think it might be because the later coats were put on wet polish. Rush job. While my friend's nails were drying under the light a woman walked in to get a gift certificate for a pedicure. She was charged $5 more than I was charged for my service. Not sure why. Recently Zoe Nail has changed management and is now called Allure Nails. I've always loved this shop because it's convenient, consistent and the employees are friendly. Today I got my (last) pedicure and during the service the guy ripped my toenail. When I said something he began to argue with me that my toenails was already ripped (presumably he thinks I don't know what a ripping toenail feels like). I quickly asked him to just continue the service because I didn't want to argue. He continued to argue for 5 minutes. Finally he shut and and completed the service. After I paid, I softly mentioned to him that arguing with a customer is rude and that it made me not want to return. He started to argue again, including a stern tone and annoyed body language. I questioned his behavior, he cut me off to argue. Then turned and started speaking another language (Vietnamese?) to the other employees. I told him that was rude then left. Mind you I never raised my voice, nor was I mean. But I expect you to apologize when you rip my toenail. My toenails look great. But I'll never go back. read more

Gosh out of my dozens of reviews on Yelp I've only had two one-star worthy experiences that compelled me to write (here's looking at you TomFooleries). I suppose luckily for me the experience was brief so I won't have much to recount. I arrived here on a recent Friday afternoon and I thought the place would be empty since it was like 12:30 but it was rather busy. Despite it being busy the staff should have still at least pretended to want my business. I was asked by no fewer than three different associates if I could be helped and I answered "pedicure please" while asking how long the wait would be in each instance. In succession I essentially received a shoulder shrug and was told to ask another associate. I don't want to seem like a whiner but good lord if you intend to be of no help at the establishment you're working at then please don't ask someone if you can "help" them. I think the final straw was while the younger associate went to ask a pedicure technician about the wait time he felt compelled to tell the technician rather loudly "it's a guy" (I suppose this was a reference to me being male as if that should make a difference in my wait). After the technician replied inaudibly the associate basically shrugged his shoulders at me and said "I really don't know." I replied "welp" and left. No worker blinked or said a thing as I departed so I happily tore up my VIP discount cards and resolved never to return. This experience is a shame because I am usually very loyal to the businesses I frequent so I guess I'l have to stick exclusively with visiting the Gents Place in Leawood (super pricey but customer service is golden) for my grooming needs in Kansas City. read more

After another bad experience, I hit this place. Only 5 months old, it is clean and decorated rather well. I like how the pedi chairs (and there are a lot) are separated behind a wall, for a more relaxing experience. The mani stations are clean and cute. One thing I would recommend is that all the stations be turned around so that the customer can be the one looking out the window. Besides, I have been to plenty of nail places where the employees spent too much time checking out the goings on in the salon and not enough time watching what they are doing. This wasn't the case today, with my nail tech Heather. She was meticulous and gentle. Best if all- she actually removed my old gel polish the way it is supposed to be done- wrapped cotton pads soaked in remover around my nails. I don't think consumers are aware, but gel polished should NOT be removed via soaking or drilling! Heather could have been a little more aggressive in the cuticles, but everything else was great! Another pet peeve of mine is not enough polish choices for gel, but they had almost everything. A bonus, it is across the street from Latte Land! So yesterday I was in desperate need to repair my previous gel manicure (I only got it on Friday!) as 4 nails had already chipped. I was driving around and saw the sign for Zoe Nails & Spa...it didn't seem very crowded which was definitely a godsend. I walked in and was immediately impressed with the cleanliness of the place as well as the comfort level - It was, what 95 degrees outside and really comfortable inside. Because it wasn't at all busy I was able to be seated immediately and have my nails taken care of. My manicurist took the time to explain to me why my previous gel manicure was already peeling after a few days. And actually took the time to make sure that my new manicure wouldn't be peeling, she made sure that the cuticles were pushed down and cut properly as well as filed my nails completely smooth before applying the color. She definitely took her time to make sure that not only was my manicure done right, but that it would also last. Will definitely be back when I need to do my next manicure and pedicure. I believe that I've found my new go to nail salon...even if it is a bit far from where I live. read more

I've been in several times, I live a couple blocks away. The salon is comfortable, clean, and the nail techs are very good. I got a manicure, and all of my nails were the exact same shape, and length - and I'm OCD about how my nails look, typically I have to reshape them. And, the regular manicure lasted almost a week without much of the polish chipping, which is great since other times, paint usually starts chipping after day 2. I like that I could relax, and I'm not RUSHED through my services. Other super packed salons work in volume and don't take the time to create a great experience. Their color selection is a bonus, since most other salons sometimes have run out of the pretty colors. I don't think it's pricey - $26 for a really great pedicure is pretty awesome, and $17 for the perfect manicure. read more

I won't be back until Bebe comes back. The past 3 times I went they used the drill/file and hurt my fingers by burning them. This time a nail broke off after a few days and when I went in to get it replaced the lady hurt me again and the new nail looked horrible. It didn't match the rest of my nails, it was rigid, and the wrong shape and size. Bon tried to then fix it again, but filed it down so much that it still doesn't match the rest. I have been getting dip on my nails for over a year and I have never had such a bad experience until I got my nails done by Jay (which I think is his name). When he filed my nails before putting the dip on, my nails burned because he filed them so long. Then once the dip was on, he again filed the tops of them until they burned. The dip was so thin that 8 of my 10 nails were either chipping or lifting within 24 hours.
