About a week ago I came in to BKS nails, They were super nice when I walked in. I originally asked for an Acrylic full set and to get what was on my nails soaked off. They recommended dip, or should I say told me that I was going to do dip...Anyways. They soaked off what was on my nails and I showed them the inspo picture of what I wanted. I wasn't given a yes or no answer if they could do them, I will say they were more on the complex side. Well beings nobody told me they couldn't do them I assumed they could. Then another lady comes over to to start on my nails, I asked for nails that had french tip with design, which is why I was confused as to why my base was the same color that I picked for the french tip. Well I let her continue because I was thinking maybe I am wrong. She continues, her coworker proceeds to tell her that it isn't going to work and then she says that it is. Then, JUST NOW. She finishes the dip and NOW i am being told they cannot do the design that I wanted, they didn't have the color or the correct type of tool/paint to do what i wanted. Why wasn't I told this in the first place? I am now just irritated and had been at the salon for a little over 2 hours just severely irritated. I work in the service industry so being rude to workers is NOT in my nature but this was completely wrong and then still proceeded to charge me $72 for the base color on my nails when not once but twice was I told they couldn't do what I wanted because of THEIR WORK. The tools I understand but because she put on the wrong base then I couldn't do anything. Not a place for anything complex and clarify with them before letting them do anything. read more

Just visited for the first time- Got the worst pedicure I have ever had by the man that works there. Don't know his name because that's how rude he was. My pedicure lasted 22 minutes from the time I sat down to the time I paid. He rushed the entire process and my nails and the polish are uneven. No polish on many sides of my toes. Also cut my nails in a way where I will definitely get ingrowns. My cuticles honestly look worse now than they did before. I felt like a huge inconvenience to him and will not be returning nor recommending them to anyone on my social media platform. read more

I came here for the 1st time last week and was in such a rush I forgot to take a picture of my nails for my review but I found a mirror selfie with them to share. I did a beautiful green with chrome on top. First of all I LOVED my nails and Lisa did them for me but today I had to go and remove the chrome for work(so sad I know) I wanted to keep the same beautiful green I had under the chrome and Lisa insisted that I just take off the chrome instead of paying to to them all over again for the same color from a week ago. DID YOU GUYS HEAR ME?.... A BUSINESS OWNER HAD MY BEST INTENTIONS IN MIND.... That is amazing. Safe to say she was right I removed the chrome since I would be returning to change the color the next week. Attached is the picture of the same nails with the chrome removed. I LOVE this place. Everyone is so friendly, quality work and they take walk-ins which works wonderfully with my busy schedule. I am officially a regular. Now I have to go break up with my other nail salon. A five star review for a nail salon I used to always vow to never return to "back in the day" (if anyone in their 20's is allowed to use that phrase haha) is definitely something! But Brookside Nails is something too...something kind of like magic! I decided to test my luck and try a walk in pretty close to the rushed weekend, or was it a Sunday morning?! No matter the day Laurie came to the rescue, saving me from intense pain and pressure I was experiencing because of one previously poorly applied acrylic (not at all associated with BKS Nails) and giving me a beautiful shape, length and color combo. I was absolutely shocked/stoked with the results after she filed my feline fingers into sophiscated classy claws I even upgraded my color choice from a childish glimmery lavender(better choice for warmer springtime) to a gorgeous glossy taupe with a some advice from master Laurie to stick with a silver glittery accent nail. The results are so stunning I feel like my hands got a makeover or should I say makeunder. I will not be writing off Brookside Nails again, they are reasonably priced, client centric and the results are definitely more Mission Hills than Beverly Hills but hey, I'm okay with that. I rarely get my nails done so when I do I really think of it as treating myself to something special. I live really close to BKS nails so I was excited to try it out. I walked in and there were a decent amount of people in there and luckily they were taking walk-ins. I asked for a basic pedicure and basic manicure, picked out my colors for each and sat in a chair to get my pedicure started. The man that sat down was friendly and started right away. Instantly, he cut my toe nails so short it hurt when he cut them. But I told myself ok whatever, they will grow back and the pain didn't last. My pedicure got better, he scrubbed my legs, really scrubbed my feet and gave me a great foot massage. I thought wow if this is a basic pedicure this is great! He painted my toes and made sure to ask if I liked the color. He helped me walk over to the table to get a manicure. It was like I left one salon and went into another because my manicure experience was so different. My hands barely soaked in warm water before he started cutting my cuticles. It hurt to have him push back my cuticles that were practically dry. Then the man kept trying to get me to change my manicure color or convince me to get gel. I was getting frustrated because I know gel lasts longer and its more expensive but I don't like gel from past experiences and I just wanted him to do the color I picked out. Then there was no lotion on my arms or hands or hand massage. He cut my cuticles and barely filed my nails before painting my nails and told me I was done. My manicure lasted all of about 10 minutes which I thought was strange given how long my pedicure lasted. He moved me to the table for my nails to dry and turned the fans on. The fans were barely blowing anything. After 15 minutes of sitting there and my nails not being remotely dried, I decided to leave because I was getting impatient. I got this done on a Thursday and on Saturday the polish had all cracked and chipped. I am annoyed because I paint my own nails constantly and I honestly feel like I do my own manicures better than what I paid for at the salon. It is always disappointing when you pay for something you feel like you do better for free. I've been to this nail salon 3 times within this year. The first time was awesome. The man who did my nails blessed them honestly. The second time I allowed the same man to do my nails and he got upset because i told him I felt he rushed me and didn't do a good job as the previous time. I ended up leaving and overlooked it. This is my 3rd time coming back and a lady did my nails. She put a 4 size nail on my left hand and a 5 on my right. Which made my nails bigger on one side. When asked to file more she got agitated and told me I don't have to come back and that she's busy and had other people to worry about. She had a pedi after me which is understandable but when someone is spending their money they expect at the least great treatment & if you mess up to fix the problem. I would give 0 stars if I could. This is a homophobic & bigoted establishment. My friend was refused polish on his toes for no reason. When asked why they wouldn't paint his nails repeatedly, the only response I received was "buff and shine." There was not a language barrier. They specifically told him "no color." There is NO reason ANYONE should be refused nail polish at a nail salon. Period. This establishment is not deserving of your money. I had high hopes for this place and was pretty disappointed. Positives- they had a GREAT selection of colors and good massage chairs and MOST of the staff was kind. Negatives- the guy doing my pedicure gave me a deluxe without my consent so it was more costly. The woman that was doing my mom's pedicure said some very rude things to her concerning her feet, which were completely inappropriate. Also, the polish on my toes started chipping 4 days after I got it done. My pedicures usually last over a month. Needless to stay I'll be sticking with Nail Spa on 39th from now on. read more

I've enjoyed coming to BKS Nails as a loyal customer for 4 years now but I have been disappointed with their service the last few times I've gone. I was looking forward to my dip mani / deluxe pedi on my day off of work before my baby shower. I felt rushed through my appointment and the attention to detail on my nails was REALLY lacking. When your nail service comes out to be over $100, you expect a decent job. I should've spoken up in the moment to have their nail techs fix my nail beds, the shaping of my nails (my big toes are literally two different shapes) and fix the excess dip and polish on the sides of my nails and toe nails. I also asked for a very simple design on one nail that they said they could not do. I have had to speak up so many times before with their nail techs at my appointments I've decided I am switching salons. I hope the owners can take customer feedback and really make some changes for the better. Please focus on attention to detail and customer experience before you lose more customers. read more

Previous experiences were sufficient. My teenager saves up and pays for her own nails and has gone here multiple times. Today was extremely disappointing specific to the lack of customer service. I picked up my daughter and her nails were trash, her finger was bleeding from being accidentally cut and the quality was awful. I took her inside and asked to please speak to the manager upon which a lady came to the front to address me. I tried to keep my voice low and let her know that I was unhappy with the service, and would like a discount offered for the lack of quality. My daughter told the man that her nails were not finished, and the topcoat had not been put on, I do not know if he is new or did not care, he told her she's fine, and that she was ready to go. While I was explaining this to the manager and showing her that my daughter also had a cut on her finger, she interrupted me, rolled her eyes and said well, it was an accident, and then walked away while I was speaking and motion for my daughter to come over to the table to get them fixed. I politely told her I don't feel comfortable complaining I don't like to complain, and we would just like a discount so that we could please leave and be on our way. She disrespected me and disrespected my daughter, started looking at the quality of the nails and telling us how it looks like we weren't charge for the length And how we should be happy that it was only $70. My daughter did not have additional length put on and at this point I felt very annoyed that instead of trying to fix the problem you were being unprofessional and hateful. Instead of getting more upset as of course the entire salon was staring at us this, and I could feel my daughter feeling very uncomfortable as she had already felt before she left, I decided to leave and smile. I have never had a better experience getting my nails done!! I had asked for nail art I had seen by a previous yelper after calling in for an appointment 30 minutes earlier. Lisa was so kind and accommodating, and knew the names of pretty much every customer walking in the door. I am visiting from out of town, but took a shot after looking at some pictures. No go for me. I don't usually try new nail salons but this place was on the way to Whole Foods and I figured I'd give them a try. When I walked in: I wasn't greeted I was just told to pick a color and go to a chair. I waited about 15 minutes for the lady start the Pedicure. Please keep in mind this place was not busy and staff were on their phone instead of starting my service. When the lady eventually started my pedicure, I kindly asked if she could go gentle towards one of my toes (with the cuticle tool) since I had an issue with it due to playing too much sand volleyball. I felt like her Response was rude by saying "I Know I know" "you think I don't know how to get your nail bed and cuticle?" It was in a loud manner where everyone else in the room had turned and faced me. I decided to stay silent the rest of the pedicure and could not relax but kept thinking this is not the place for me. When she was applying lotion she cross containated multiple times by touching her phone and then my foot again with the tools. I wanted to say something but was afraid of being chastised. When the color was on my toes, I asked if I could dry my toes in the chair since the drying station was busy and I wanted to social distance myself. She said "no you have to dry here" and grabbed my shoes without asking and then asked me for my credit card. I told her I would pay her after my toes were dry and she then got upset and said "no now" so I paid her and then waited for my last bit of toes to dry. I just wanted to Get out of there. I didn't even relax or enjoy my pedicure because my lady was so rude and unclean. You can definitely tell when they hate their job. Definitely didn't follow any cdc protocols and the floor was disgusting! I saw dirt and grime all over the place and wish I just walked out before starting the pedicure. No bleach in site either! I'm not one to leave reviews typically, but have been encouraged to do so by friends & family who I told my experience to. I took my 4 year old daughter for what I thought would be a fun date. $187 later (!!) I walked out with my first and last dip I'll ever do. It is a mess!!! Surfaces are uneven, shapes are inconsistent, and the area around my cuticles are very messy. Not 24 hours later three of my gel polishes on my toes fell off. I tried to go back and after sitting for 15+ minutes, I tried to ask for a refund because I didn't have time to wait for them to be fixed. I am not confrontational and I felt SO uncomfortable having these conversations out in front of all of the other customers. The lady who fixed my gel polish made comments to me about how I was making her other customers wait. I apologized, but tried to communicate that my time was also valuable and I had to come back to get a very expensive product fixed the next day. I decided not to say anything about my dip nails at that point because I was already so uncomfortable and just wanted to leave as fast as I could. I will never go back there! read more

I went in for a pedicure on June 25 without an appointment. I was assigned to a man who was wearing a mask. He never introduced himself and didn't seem to speak much English. He caused two of my toes to bleed and one of the injuries has not completely healed yet. I paid for the pedicure and even gave him a cash tip. When my credit card statement came yesterday an additional $4.00 had been added. The phone number listed does not work so I will try to resolve this with my credit card company. Hi there, I just want to say that I have been going to BKS nails since it opened. i don't get my nails done regularly but I get them done for special occasions. last thursday (6/30/22) i went in with an image of what i wanted. The nail artist immediately told me i needed to pick a different color and said she was going to do acrylics which i specifically said i did not what since they ruin my nails. she was extremely rough with my nails and i had a hang nail which she didn't acknowledge and it ended up bleeding. she was finished within 30 minutes and it cost me $65 for this excluding tip. The paint job was sloppy on such a simple and easy design. The shape was off on almost all the nails, the polish was thick and after 2 days the nails were already starting to ruin. My natural nail can be seen through the tips and on the sides of the tip as well since they were not cut when i went in. I left almost in tears and i won't be going back. don't waste your time. this is extremely upsetting to me. read more

Had a full set and pedicure a few weeks ago. my pedicure was pretty good but my full set was rushed, a few crocked, had to return a few minutes later for uneven levels on nails. I wanted a few more redone but was leaving town in the morning . There's a gap between my nail and the added mail so they'll need to be soaked off instead of filled to prevent fungus. And the prices went up. I don't mind paying for good service but this felt like bare minimum for $145. I will not be returning. read more

A friend of mine came here, and he was refused color (even though he and another friend had asked for it multiple times). They literally ignored him and told him he was only getting a "buff and shine." Ridiculous service. Go somewhere that will give you what you want and what you pay for. read more
