I can't even begin to tell anyone that reads this to stay away. The absolute worst business with awful practices and no moral integrity. My disabled mother just had to move and was forced to use this service. Much to both of our dismays. To begin with, they hire young kids barely out of high school. Who don't care about having a work ethic or doing an even decent job. They didn't take any care of her belongings. Basically they grabbed them, and threw them in the truck and the into the new place. She had HUNDREDS of dollars of things broken. When confronted with this problem including photo proof, this company did NOTHING. They said it wasn't their fault and to just deal with it. Excuse me. It's entirely their fault. Things were broken that can't be replaced. Family valuables. As well as more basic things. The least they should do is give her money back in the value of her things, but nope. Not even remorse. I truly hope this place goes out of business. Don't trust your things in their care. If they can destroy the belongings of an older woman who can't move things herself and not care, then they definitely will yours as well. It's absolutely immoral and despicable. read more

Medieval...as in creepy, filthy, and decrepit. Storage units are pitch-black and impossiible to find light switches, let alone your unit. Miserable depressive at the front desk named Mike who gets irritated when you speak to him or ask a question. They should hide him somewhere-like the attic or the moat. Unresponsive owner-manager who's fine when your items are damaged, as mine were, by water pouring through a rotting ceiling. So many better, cleaner, friendlier facilities to choose from, at comparable prices. read more

I facilitated a move for family friends dealing with some very sad circumstances, and we made the company, and our movers aware of that. Only specific items were to be moved out of the house, to an out-of-state location. It was not well organized on our part, (understatement) and our movers were kind, efficient, patient, careful, respectful.... They were wonderful, and we could not be more grateful to the company as well as the two wonderful men who made the move happen. The company was able to accommodate my move timeline but showed up late for the load and without all the needed tools which they did not disclose to me. To protect myself I purchased additional coverage for my belongings just in case there was damage in the move. At the unload, things were not put where directed, damage was done to the walls of the house when moving items in, damage done to multiple pieces of furniture. When I contacted the company to make them aware of the damage, there was no response despite having the enhanced insurance coverage. I have incurred costs to fix what can be - these costs should have been covered by the insurance. They also failed to reassemble everything correctly, so I incurred costs here to get things reassembled completely and correctly. I have done a number of moves. In the past, if there was damage in my move, the other companies were responsive and made it right. That is good business and earns repeat customers. I can say confidently I will note use, nor recommend, this company. read more

They were courteous and responsive, however I had furniture damage that I was never covered even though I told them to include the furniture damage coverage (I bought the second most expensive one). I called Paul Berkert and told him that there was damage to my leather chairs and they split (almost from side to side) the front drawer of an expensive night stand. He first told me that since I moved to VA he didn't know if there was anything he could do because they don't deal with furniture repair companies in VA. Then he gave me his email address and told me to send pictures. He never responded to my emails and when I tried to call back, he did return my calls. Two years later the chairs are almost completely ruined because of the initial scrapes and peels. read more

We chose Allways because of local referrals and their estimate seemed to be professional. However, I asked for the estimate on packing to include everything, so I would have an upper number to work with. I ended up packing at least half of my things myself, yet the final bill was $400 higher than estimated. That was just not fair. read more

My discussions in them in getting a quote were honest, realistic and helpful to aid in finding the best date and option possible-whereas other companies just pushed me to add charges on for all sorts of add ons. The actual moving process could not have gone smoother despite some challenges presented by the new apartment building but the moving team not only moved everything with professionalism, ease and grace but made me feel (as a single woman moving) so comfortable with the process and truly felt like I had people by my side helping my along the way. Would highly recommend! I also moved from upstate NY to NYC and they were so accommodating and helpful in discussing the best times to travel and making sure both our plans and expectations were aligned. All the guys on the crew were very nice and respectful. They moved a 6 bedroom house in 5 hours. My only critique is that they ended up scratching out floor a little bit with a very heavy piece of furniture. But otherwise, they were very careful and courteous. The worst. I used them to move from FL to NY , the company in FL wrapped every piece of furniture nicely in shipping blankets. When it arrived in NY all the furniture had been unwrapped and numerous pieces of furniture were scratched and damaged, including several pieces of broken glass. How could they allow this ? This company moved our 4br from upstate NY to Eastern Long Island. They arrived on time, worked quickly and were upbeat and pleasant. Not once did I see a piece of furniture ding a wall or doorway. The owner of Allways, Paul, emailed my wife yesterday to say that our furniture delivery to our new home in Florida will arrive more than a week later than promised-which is a week after we arrive. This comes after they botched the delivery if the Certificate of Insurance to our apartment complex in NYC--after my wife gave their office very explicit instructions and called in advance to re-confirm the details. This was followed by Allways not adhering to the approved time window for the move, which resulted in Allways being kicked out of the building and forced to come another day to complete the move, though neither my wife or I could be there for a final walk-through. Not sure if all of the incompetence by Allways was a coincidence or if this is how they deal with all women customers. Do not use this mover because they haven't demonstrated that they know how to, uh, move things. read more

I will start with the positives. They showed up on time. Now for the negatives, which are too numerous to mention so I will write about some of the worst things they did. The man who came out to do the estimate told me that everything would be taken to the new house. He said insurance isn't neccessary but available. He said furniture such as sofas would be wrapped with cloths, along with large oil paintings, etc. He said upon payment they would walk through the house with me to see if anything needed to be moved. So, they showed up on time! A great start. Boxes were clearly marked for contents and what room they belonged in. When unloading they askd me where furniture and rugs went. Some boxes they asked where they went, some didn't. The results: boxes, furniture, and rugs were placed in wrong rooms. Several pieces of furniture were broken. At least 50% of the items they moved were placed in wrong rooms. My ivory sofa was not covered. Needless to say, it was the last thing they took off the truck before they left and it is filthy. They took the check upon finishing and before I could close my check book they were gone. I had to hire someone else to help me move the furniture. The next day I noticed I was missing some things. I went back to my old house and looked inside the garage only to find alot of things they left behind. I called Alllways Moving and they said they would take care of it. I waited a week and they never called me back so I called them again. Once again, they said they would take care of everything. They ddidn't. I have moved around alot (19 times in 40 years) and I have never had such a horrible move. If your belongings mean anything to you, then don't use them. read more

Allways Moving and Storage drove from Kingston, NY to Franklin Lakes, NJ to pick up a Baby Grand Piano to deliver to our home in Kingston, NY. The three men assigned to the move our piano were very knowledgeable about the care and handling of pianos. They delivered it by 10 am in the morning, which means they left very early to pick it up. They maneuvered the piano up some porch stairs to get it in the front door. They unpacked and assembled the legs on the piano and placed it where we wanted it. Totally professional service, and couldn't be happier. Paul, at the home office was extremely helpful in coordinating the move. Allways will be our go to movers for all of our future moving needs. DO NOT RECOMMEND! STAY AWAY! Will leave YOUR property on their truck and not notify you about it! Whether done intentially or not and then lost or stolen remains to be seen but it was the most expensive piece of the move. My wife hired these guys from Allways Moving to move a few large items and a beautiful concrete sculpture only 2 miles up the street to our new house while I was at work and she home with baby. The big pieces got moved but the sculpture artwork never made it I as found out! Didn't realize until 10 mos later but their policy to make a claim is 9mos! Company has yet to make right. If you use these guys watch them like a hawk and inventory everything on and off the truck. Otherwise your stuff will walk! Seems to have happend to others. BEWARE! read more

This is an addendum to my review dated 9/9/2014. I have just completed an inventory of the valuable artwork and other items that Allways Moving & Storage packed and moved for my mother in January 2012, and I believe that the movers -- who had the scummiest demeanor of any movers I have ever encountered, suggesting to me they were likely poorly rehabilitated ex-convicts -- helped themselves to some souvenirs because they knew the stuff was going into storage and it would be years before the theft was discovered. Among the missing items: an antique stained-glass lamp, two brass candlesticks, several hand-painted glass bottles from Hong Kong and a folk-art metal duck. There may be more items missing that I have simply forgotten about over the years. In addition, the movers may have thrown away (out of spite after they took off without completing the job and I called to complain) pieces necessary to put together a long antique walnut table and a futon bed frame because we never found them. Plus, they packed the glass shade for an expensive halogen lamp in an unmarked box so that the lamp ended up being thrown away years ago because no one could find the shade. I am so disgusted with this company and sorry that I ever hired it. This was my introduction to the worst of the worst in the Hudson Valley. Also, I almost forgot to mention, the way these imbeciles packed an Oriental rug that had just been appraised at nearly $16,000 -- they just threw it in the storage locker without wrapping it in plastic -- eventually led to it being decimated by moths, i.e., completely ruined. This is one of the rugs that these ignorant jackasses called "filthy, disgusting rugs" (see my original review, below) in giving their justification for why they had driven off in the moving van without loading the rugs. I wish I could attach a photo of it here because it was a beauty, handpicked by my late mother so it also had tremendous sentimental value, and the fact that their handling led to its destruction makes me beyond mad. The rug specialist whom I eventually hired to pick up that rug and the others to clean them (though they were far from "filthy" and still looked gorgeous) said improper packing was responsible for moths getting to the rug and ruining it and that the rug should have been shrink-wrapped. So, either these guys are so stupid and careless that they don't know/care to know they need to shrink-wrap Oriental rugs going into storage to preserve them -- and I'm assuming these weren't the first rugs they had ever moved to storage facilities -- or they did it on purpose. Either way, if you have anything of value, avoid this company! read more

Horrible, horrible experience....The move from hell! We moved from Santa Fe to NYC and some of our items did not arrive until 3 months later and we damaged beyond belief. It was only supposed to take a week to 10 days. The remainder of our items were stolen and never showed up. There were boxes that were not ours but made to look like they were with similar writing. We got at least 5 boxes of items that did not even belong to us and we refused them...who knew if they made it back to the original owners. We filed a police report and they got no where when them. You can't even get their address in Dallas where they operate. We thought we did our homework by researching this company first only to find out that the positive reviews they have posted are bogus. They are crooks and that is about the kindest thing I can say about them. You are better off getting a Uhaul, at least you know your items will make it with you especially if you value your possessions. read more

Planned a move from PA to MD with them. Got my original quote from Mike, which was inaccurate and did not clarify that they charge extra for stairs (when I told him there were stairs) that do not accept credit cards as a payment method at delivery etc. Got a final quote from Justin and paid the deposit. 24hrs later they call to CANCEL the move, saying that they gave us too many discounts (HUH???) and that they were loosing money with the move. After this experience needless to say that I will NEVER call them again or recommend them. STAY AWAY from these people. read more

The guys quickly and securely packed all of our clothes, toys, books, furniture, etc (including some antiques) and delivered everything the next day with the same speed and care. Where to begin about what has turned out to be the move from Hell....We hired Allways Moving and Storage for our 30 mile move based on the recommendation of a family member who used them for a smaller move. We were reluctant to use a moving company and were instead going to rent a UHaul for a few days. We had numerous boxes packed and ready to go and several pieces of small furniture that were very manageable. However, we also had a large, heavy refrigerator which is both fairly new and expensive and we knew we could not manage it without considerable help. We also had a garden tractor that we could not figure out how to transport, as well as a large dining room table and chairs that were passed down to my wife from her mom. So, we hired Allways. First, the three employees arrived earlier than the agreed upon time and sat in our driveway waiting for us to arrive. We realized later that they charged us for that time. I will get right to the point of how they did with the large items that were of concern to us. The refrigerator: they could not figure out how to get it through the doorway so they carelessly disassembled it, shelves, doors, water connections, etc and after banging it back and forth between the door jambs, causing scrapes and dents while doing so, they finally got it out and loaded. I'll mention now so I don't forget that they left behind the parts to reassemble the doors. Had I not seen them and brought them myself, they could not have reassembled the refrigerator at our new location. Even with my bringing the parts, we later found out, when we had to hire a technician, that they failed to reconnect the water line in the door and they left screws out on the hinges. They also did not take the time to correctly reassemble the shelves, so the freezer drawer would not close. We now have water leakage on the floor about once a week, which we never had before. So far we have spent over $200.00 attempting to correct what they did and it is still not resolved. The garden tractor: they did not know how to get the wheels to free-spin and obviously tried various things. I saw the difficulty they were having so I showed them the wheel release. The day after the move, I found that they had turned the key on and left it on, killing the battery. But the nightmare was the dining room table. The set is a Henredon, which is a very good make, and in addition to its monetary value, it has sentimental value. The table has two pedestal bases, each of which has three claw-foot legs. We specifically asked them to use extra care with the table and even offered to disassemble it into two halves. They assured us that was not necessary and they put the table into the truck, out of our sight. When we arrived at our new home and they were unpacking the truck, they informed us they had bad news; the legs had broken on the table. They said that they had placed our FULL-SIZED couch on TOP of the table and they theorized that when one of the legs broke, it must have shifted back and forth, breaking every single one of the claw feet! Our table still sits in its destroyed state in our sunroom, which is our entrance, and everyone who visits looks at the table in disbelief, saying that "savages" must have done this. When the Allways employees left our house they assured us that Allways would take care of the damage they had caused. The next day, we tried to call the owner of Allways and you guessed it, he would not answer our repeated calls over the course of several days. It was only after telling an employee on the phone that if the owner did not call us back we were going to file a lawsuit that he finally called. Bottom line is he offered us $200.00 plus $200 "good customer relations" for a total of only $400.00 towards an attempted repair. We have had two estimates from professional woodworkers and both informed us that the legs have been so structurally compromised that they can make no guarantee if they attempt to repair it. They told us that a repaired leg could break again the first time we open the table to put a leaf in. They also told us that a couch should never, ever have been placed on top of the table. Keep in mind we are talking about a set that cost over $10,000.00. So we were left with no other option than to sue him. The court appearance has been scheduled for May. When the owner received the notice of the suit and the notice to appear, he called us in an attempt to "resolve this informally." During this discussion he actually said that if he has to pay for a new table, he "wants the old one and he knows that it has sentimental value." read more

The team from Allways Moving was terrific with our move last week. We packed what we could in advance, but were relying on them to do the rest. The team arrived a bit early and didn't waste a minute packing up the things we hadn't had time to pack ourselves. This included delicate stuff, wall hangings, electronics, an entire kitchen and bath, as well as a storage shed packed with sporting gear and tools, They treated our stuff with great respect, and everything was labeled as to room and contents. They even used the extra boxes we had brought with us to save us a few dollars. As an added bonus, they took some old furniture to the dump, Our belongings are now in a storage locker awaiting our next move, and the guys thoughtfully arranged everything there into groupings that will make the next move much easier. We used these movers over a year ago and we're still stinging from the experience. Besides the fact that their "estimator" claimed to estimate 8,000 lbs under weight, they also violated the contract we both signed stating a NOT MORE THAN price of $3400. After picking up our belongings, they called us 4 hours into our move to tell us we owed them $2000 more and threatened to bring everything back to the original pick up area if we didn't pay After settling on a price just to get our things delivered, when the truck finally arrived, the movers refused to come down the driveway. Mind you, this was suppose to be a turn key move. They told us we would now have to hire a shuttle truck to bring our belongings into the house. When we refused, they drove away with all of our things. Later they called to tell us they found a storage facility and planned to leave the things there, at our expense, of course. We also had to pay overnight lodging for the movers and meals. We had to rent the storage unit for a month ($200) and pay their expenses. Now our NOT MORE THAN price went from $3400 to almost $5,000! Then we had to hire people to move our things from the unit to our house. Another $800. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! They lie and cheat. If I could have given them 0 stars or less, I would. read more
