My very well-loved Subaru Baja, Luna, has done extensive traveling, including to festivals in the desert. The mark of a good Subaru owner, according to commercials, is one that allows their car to look completely adventurous (dirty)- inside and out. Mission accomplished. I finally decided to have my car professionally detailed on the interior and exterior. Admittedly, she was very dirty. I had very low expectations of the service, believing that many of the marks in my car were permanent from a life of adventure, yoga gear, and camping equipment. Well, I am pleased to say that I was wrong! I have never seen my car look so beautiful! She looks brand new! I am in complete awe! I don't know what level of magic Ally Detail used but Luna was certainly transformed from a pumpkin into a silver luxury vehicle. The owner is very professional and easy to communicate with via text. There had been a little miscommunication over when I could pick up my car, but the owner remedied the situation. I also appreciate that he accepts Zelle. I used to own a mobile car detailing business in town and I would send all of my clients to Ally Detail when I was busy and after I closed due to my new business. I've never once had anyone have a bad experience and now that I've had them come detail my car personally, I can say for his hand that they do a above and beyond excellent job and I know that I got a very good thing for my buck, worth every penny. I'm very particular about my car and the attention to detail was extremely good and I love the ease of having them come to me to give me a car wash and also being able to take my car in if I am needing a job done ASAP in case they're full, which they sometimes can be. Avoid this business at all cost. Not a professional detail company nor a professional appearance. The shop looks to be a low end mechanics shop! I arrive early to my appointment finding a greasy clothed guy with a cow ring hanging out of his nose conducting mechanic work on a car's engine. He told me to park in front of the open garage for the detail. I do as he walks to the bathroom. As he his washing the grease off his hands and I'm standing in the shop looking at a cluttered mechanic's shop that is not clean. I'm thinking you are not pulling my Mercedes in this dirty garage to detail my vehicle while tripping on all the cluttered tools. No way would I leave my $160k vehicle at this mechanic garage and pay $400. Also, the owner was asking for cash payment, Venmo or Zelle. Another Red Flag the shop is not operating as a professional business when they are clearly avoiding a minimal 3% fee ($12 fee) to the credit card processor. I knew something was suspicious about their only 5-Star ratings on Yelp. I should of taken a picture of this dirty mechanic garage. Rather, I simply got in my SUV without saying bye and drove off the property as the greasy looking guy with a cow ring piercing in his nose was staring at me wondering why I was driving off. If the reviews sounds too good to be true. Likely it is. I would never leave my vehicle at this low end mechanic shop. Again, avoid this business at all costs. read more

Had a horchata spill that needed to be cleaned. Quoted me $180 for an interior cleaning and got me in next day. The job took two hours and when I got my car back the smell has lessened but is still there. A stain and horchata residue remains and is visible. They did really good on the knobs/dash/wheel/cupholders and other parts of the car. The worker I interacted with was very friendly and nice so 3 stars for that, but the main reason why I went to get it detailed is to clean up the spill. I lift up my mats and it's still sticky underneath. The car did come back to me better than before but it wasn't a complete job. I give it a 3-3.5/5 read more

So many good things to say about this place that I don't really know where to begin. The responded quickly to my inquiry about how to get this mildew/mold smell out of my car after we had some rain. He told me to bring it by the same night if I was free so I didn't need to make an appointment or anything for the consult. They took a look (or rather a smell) and immediately told me what the issue is and what they'd do to treat it as well as a quote shortly after. I came back a few days to drop the car off and within 2.5 hours they'd done an enzyme treatment and used an ozone machine for the mold, pinpointed its location, as well as explained how the water got in/where the leak was so that I could take it to a body shop for them to fix. On top of that I got an overdue basic interior and exterior detail/wash all in the aforementioned time! Quick, professional, stellar work, and they have an amazing lounge with a super friendly dog named Frisbee, a big screen TV with all the sports and streaming services, a kitchen, and plenty of comfy seating and surfaces for work/study if you decide to wait there. 10000000% I'll be back. Tye's customer service and work was good for me for about 4 years. I work 7 days a week, so when he could not send a crew and would pick up one of my vehicles, that was so helpful. I had him do a wax detail on my small Audi TT roadster in July 2024. It's a soft top, so no need to wax the top. Tye and the person who supposedly did the waxing were there when I showed them a good size area that still had the wax on. It was in my garage so the lighting was not great. Later on, I saw approximately 4-6 other areas that were missed. I texted him, no response. I texted him again the other day and nothing.In case he was not in business anymore, I tried to find his shop this afternoon while my car was being smogged nearby, but ran out of time. I have been able to find a couple very good detailers since SB has many. The 2 stars is for picking it up. Very disappointing after many referrals. read more

My husband and I are a one-car family in our 60's, but for this year, our son has moved to Scotland for school and left his Mazda3 in our care. The car has been living in IV for the past 3 years, while he was attending UCSB. It's probably been washed a couple of times in those years, and maybe vacuumed the same number. The car was trashed. The fabric interior had coffee and God-knows-whatall-else stains all over it. The floor had ancient Starbucks cups, sandy beach towels, stickers, twigs and leaves, coins, and a large volume of random grit, grease, and grime. Really, it was disgusting, in only the way that a 20-something year old guy can conjure. The exterior was equally gnarly. At some point, one of his asshole neighbors had put probably 30 Trump bumper stickers all over his exterior, which my son had torn off immediately. We spent Mother's Day 2 years ago with Goo B Gone and my bread scrapers, scraping Trump sticker residue off the hood, doors, and back hatch of that car. We got it mostly cleaned off, but I told Tye at Ally Detail, that there were likely some glue spots still grabbing grime. The headlights weren't any better. They were cloudy and yellowing. Overall, the car just looked like a trasher car, even though it was in good condition underneath the years of apathy. I booked Tye to pick up the Mazda3 the day after my son left, because I didn't even want to put it in my garage and risk brushing up against it. Communication with Tye was super easy. It started with requesting a quote through Yelp messaging, and then turned into direct text messaging. 100% of our communication was via text and super easy. Tye was extremely clear and responsive. In preparing his estimate, he had me send him pics of the interior and exterior, which I've attached to this review. There was no room for misunderstanding or miscommunication and I felt very clear about the $340 cost and the service that would be provided. Tye came to pick up the car at exactly 8 a.m., the time we had booked. The only thing we discussed that we hadn't already addressed in texts were the yellow, cloudy headlights, which I hadn't noticed earlier. He advised he would restore the headlights for another $40, which I agreed to. Tye texted me a couple of pictures of the car and headlights before he dropped it off, which I've also attached. Others have said it here on Yelp, but they really aren't exaggerating. The car really did look new. Unbelievable! I forwarded those shots to my son in Scotland, who was floored at how great his car looked. The total cost was $380 and he had the car for 6 hours, so the cost was $63.33 per hour and I believe there were at least 2 people working on it. That also doesn't include the pick up and delivery of the car to and from my door. This was a splurge and wasn't something I would do with my own car, but it was worth every cent I spent in getting that filthy car looking brand new again. My husband and I would have spent probably 8-10 hours working on it together. I don't even want to think of all the arguments that would arise from that task. Then, the next day, we wouldn't have been able to get out of bed with our wrecked backs, shoulders, and necks. Thank you, Tye. I hope I don't need you again, but if I do, I will definitely contact you. You checked every box, including taking payment through Venmo. It coudn't have been easier to do business with you. Flexible and convenient drop off, figured it out via text. I left my car with them because it had a weird smell from years of spills. When I came to pick it up it was so clean, except for one spot. I just asked them to clean that spot again and they did it right away. They sucked out coffee I had spilled into my fabric seats from years ago and I got to see their heavy duty machine.
