Rather than ordering from the menu, I gave our server complete creative freedom and asked her to choose my entire meal without telling me what I'd be getting. It turned out to be one of the best dining decisions I've ever made. The evening began with an exquisite foie gras served with duck and a beautifully balanced fruit purée. The texture was impossibly smooth and luxurious, while the flavors were rich, elegant, and unlike anything I've experienced before. For my main course, she selected perfectly seared scallops accompanied by a delicate tortellini and a silky scallop purée. Every bite was expertly prepared, with each component complementing the others without overpowering them. What made the evening truly memorable wasn't just the outstanding food--it was the trust I placed in our server and the exceptional care she took in creating a meal that felt both personal and unforgettable. From start to finish, the service was impeccable, and the entire experience was one I'll be talking about for a long time. If you're looking for a truly special dining experience, I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

First of all a group of us went to this stunningly beautiful restaurant on the water as part of the…read more Three Pines Tour and is frequented by Louise Penny, the author. We didn't have to wait long to be seated even though there were six of us. There were so many appealing items on the menu that it was hard to chose. Our server, Chau, was patient and helpful (even when I changed my mind about what to eat). Most of us ordered non-alcoholic drinks (their lemonade is delicious and not too sweet) and their home-baked bread, which was cut into quarters, was hearty and delicious, especially with the fresh butter that melted on impact. I started out with the Gaspacho, which was nice and cold, flavorful and just a bit chunky. For the main course I chose the Lobster Roll, without the roll, with half salad and half french fries. The meal in total was out of this world, and if I lived here I'd be at this place frequently. This restaurant also has facilities for recreation such as swimming pools, spa and I believe you can book a room as well. The grounds are spectacular and a perfect place to get away from the city. This establishment was awarded with the distinction at par with the Micheline 5-star rating, and I can understand why, even only having seen a fraction of the facilities. It's a little piece of heaven.

The restaurant was packed and we were lucky to have gotten the last table. It was outdoors --- seems they do not always have the sidewalk tables set up -- and a lovely day for us to be outside, shaded by the building, gazing up at a church steeple not far down the street and listening to the native French speaker chatting away in the r neighborhood. We enjoyed 2 savory crepes : ham and sausage. We loved! 2 dessert crepes: pear and apple We recommend.

All crepes are freshly cooked on traditional billig iron griddles, available in both savory and sweet flavors. I tried the duck confit with goat cheese, and it was incredible. The duck meat is tender and juicy, paired perfectly with crispy yet soft buckwheat crepe crust. Caramelized onions blend smoothly with rich cheese, bringing out such a savory and satisfying taste. Pair it with local cider or fresh Guinness draft beer, and your taste buds will be totally satisfied. A well-loved spot on Rue Saint-Jean in Old Quebec. Expect a short wait on weekends. After your brunch, you can easily wander around nearby bookstores and vintage shops for a nice stroll. Rating: 5/5

Soggy french fries drowning in a mess of metallic-tasting gravy and cheesy bits that don't seem to belong. Not here. These were pretty good. Thick-cut steak fries with a crust prevented any sogginess. As did the gravy: a proper amount so it didn't resemble french fry soup. Perhaps not made from scratch but at least from a decent stock base so it had actual flavor, wasn't pasty-thick from flour, and the quantity was reasonable. The cheese curds had very little flavor of their own but I liked their texture: just slightly chewy and beginning to melt from the heat but not completely. Overall the dish was rather salty, much of which came from the smoked meat add-on. (Montreal) smoked meat is similar to what is called pastrami or corned beef in the USA. It was in the form of cut-up squares of deli slices liberally sprinkled on top. I think I'd prefer small diced cubes, the size and shape of bagged frozen carrots. Interesting, though I think I'd try one of their many other add-ons next time. I'd probably be bored with plain poutine. The best poutine anywhere? I'm still too new to this dish to say for sure. Probably not the best but good, fun to eat, and filling. I think we shared a small and it was enough for both of us for a light lunch. We also had coffee which was above average and came with free refills. Being a nice day we sat outside in the sidewalk dining area and watched the activity on the Bedford main street. There is table service outside but you go in to pay. Our waitress was great, spoke pretty good English, and helped me connect my phone to their wifi. Inside looked nice too. There was a main cafe area and a back room filled with pool tables, foosball, dartboards, and the like. It's mostly a breakfast and brunch place. There are many standard breakfast items but I'm more intrigued by the breakfast poutine and crepes. The desserts looked great too but I didn't try any. Definitely worth a visit. I'd try it again for sure.
