It has a whimsical theme with giant oversized flowers that act as shade! Plus forest inspired play structures to climb. There was also a musical instrument area for kids to explore. I loved the four person see saw which was very unique! The giant sit and spin was fun for the kids too. I loved that this park had features you don't see just an ordinary park. It made this playground more a destination playground as I mentioned. It was worth the drive. I wouldn't drive an hour away for it, but 30 minutes was worth it. It was also very quiet when we went on a Sunday. We easily got a shaded picnic table to eat our lunch we had packed and then hit the playground. The playground was very clean too. The only down side was that the exercise equipment had some broken machines which was unfortunate, but all of the playground equipment was in working order. Both my kids enjoyed the park so it's great for a wide range of ages, even toddlers.

HIdden gem on the outskirts of Livermore. This site marks the intersection of the park with…read moreseveral well-known, paved bicycle trails. On the Saturday that I visited there were quite a few bicycles coming along the trails. There is easy parking next to a water facility. There are about 20 spots. The day I was here there were there was only a few spots filled, so I don't think you will have any trouble parking. The trails include some paved bicycle trails as well as several more challenging loops. They aren't really very difficult though, so even a beginner hiker will have no problem with them. I took several loops at a very easy pace, while looking and placing some geocaches. It took about 1 hour for about 2 miles. There are lots of great views, especially as you get near the top of several of the loops. There is even a bench to sit on and taken the great vista. Keep in mind that there are no facilities here. That means no water, no restrooms. The trails do not appear to have any markings, although they are so straightforward, I don't think anyone could really get lost.

No sports facilities or equipment can be found, but there's ample room for kicking a ball around. And it was beautiful so who really won? I don't recall which trail we did, but the views were nice. There's not much shade along the trail we took so I'd say wear a hat if you can and stay hydrated. Once in a while, we saw a random cow walking along which was cool. This place is popular - we saw a lot of families and bicyclists when we were here.

What a beautiful way to begin the Lunar New Year…read more Yesterday, we hiked 4.2 miles at Del Valle Regional Park, and it felt like the perfect start to my new year goals. The trail was absolutely beautiful, even with a light drizzle along the way. Rain or shine, we still show up and that's something I'm really proud of. I'm so happy to say that my stamina is getting stronger with every hike. Each time we head out, I can feel the progress. The hills feel a little less intimidating, the miles go by a little easier, and my confidence grows a little more. When we reached the top and looked out over Lake Del Valle, the view was breathtaking, calm, peaceful, and completely worth the climb. Moments like that remind me why I keep pushing forward. Growth doesn't happen overnight, but step by step, mile by mile, I'm getting better. And thank you, Hubby, for always motivating me and believing in me. Having someone by my side who encourages me to keep going makes all the difference. Here's to starting the Lunar New Year strong and continuing to chase every goal ahead of us.

This park is not only beautiful, it's so much fun. There's so much space and walking paths. There's a smaller playground for toddlers, and and larger one for older kids. There's a swing set. And the coolest slide ever. My kids spent at least 20 minutes playing on the slide. There's plenty of shaded areas because the park is surrounded by beautiful tall trees. I seriously cannot wait to go back.

There was excitement coming from the park and waterpark. There were tons of local vendors. I truly enjoyed all the sampling at the farmers market. There's tons of green space with courts available - like basketball and tennis. Corn hole was being played as well. It was so much fun!

This also coincides with their farmer's market. I came here last Thursday to catch "Pop Fiction", a cover band. I arrived at 5:40 PM, 20 minutes before the concert, so I walked around to check out the farmer's market. There are food trucks, fruits, veggies, seafood, pastries, and lots more. The concert is at the Amphitheater, which has a couple tiers of lawn area. Early birds take up the back section and set up their tents and tables. We had a few folder chairs, and brought our own food for a little picnic. "Pop Fiction" was high energy and did a good job with songs from the '70's to today. They were a little pitchy at times, but everyone was just having a good time. As the evening progressed, more people came up front to dance or sway. There's no shade on the lawn, so definitely bring sunscreen and hats. The park itself is huge, but I didn't have time to check it all out. We enjoyed the concert and picnic. We'll probably be back for another one before the summer is done.
