The property is gorgeous and conveniently close to the main visitor center at Lassen Volcano National Park. The staff were friendly and professional. It was quiet and family friendly; there was even a family movie night in the meadow. Everyone has different expectations around cabins, so keep in mind that there is no Internet, not much cell service, no TV, and no microwave in the cabins. You'll want to download maps before you leave home. There aren't a lot of nearby general stores and what they have is limited, so be sure to bring all the food and supplies you'll need. There are plenty of pans and utensils in the cabin, though, as well as a grill and grilling utensils. From what I recall, pets are permitted but you can be charged for any pet hair left on the bed/furniture (bearing in mind that service animals are not considered pets under federal or California law).

I never once heard any of the other campers and slept like a log in my tent. Even after the fires last year, the camp ground doesn't feel like it was affected. We walked around, finding a fiery garden with toad stool seats, on the path to the field with a star porch to lay on at night. Which also during the day, gave shade to a deer and her two fawns. I'm excited to go back next year and take more time exploring the area.

I stayed at the RV park and have nothing but WONDERFUL things to say about my stay! As any RV-owner…read moreknows, problems with your rig is inevitable. Unfortunately for myself, during my stay here I ended up having internal electrical problems (absolutely NO fault from the campground). I have Tmobile, which means you will not have service for calls, only "satellite texting" available, if you have that plan. The RV park also has no wifi. However, that wouldn't be an issue...if my rig was working properly. Fortunately for us, Kari helped us out!!! Not only did she let us use her phone to make a bunch of phone calls for mobile mechanics, but she let us connect to the business wifi so we could use our phones to research solutions while at the office. She was SO kind, understanding, and willing to help in anyway she could. Even though we arrived with all sorts of problems, she went above and beyond to make sure we were kept warm and happy. Now for the RV park itself...it is located in the BEAUTIFUL Childs Meadow. Just a few minutes away from Lassen Volcanic National Park's entrance and visitor center. The prices were extremely fair. Full hookups around here were a gem to find. Franks (the restaurant directly in front of the RV park) had the friendliest staff who made us feel welcomed immediately, with a nice selection of comfort foods available. We also ate across the street at the nice sit-down restaurant and WOW it's a must! It was so good we went back twice for dinner. If you are looking for a BEAUTIFUL area in the woods, with the kindest staff, and best amenities around for the location and price, then The Village at Highlands Ranch (RV Park) is highly recommended!

We loved how close the RV park is to the entrance of Lassen's. You really can't beat it. The food at both the Highlands Ranch Resort and at Frank's Bistro was fantastic. Highly recommend. We had electrical issues with our rig the entire time we were there, and the employees were so understanding and helpful while we tried to figure it all out. There is so many outdoor experiences in the area, and this is a great place situated in the middle. The only issue we really found was that our sewage connection at our campsite (C3) is well above ground and it made it extremely difficult to dump our tanks. I highly reccommend avoiding that specific site unless your rig is higher that the sewage line. All in all, a great stay. Thank you so much Keri for all of your help.
