Aloft is a budget hotel option in the Marriott brand. If you are looking for a place that will recognize Marriott status then this isn't it. We are BonVoy platinum members and received none of the benefits that come with the status (welcome gift, free breakfast/F&B credits, offered early check-in/late check-out, offered room upgrade, etc) despite the hotel being extremely slow (kind of looked deserted tbh). Staff were friendly and helpful though they offered nothing that they were supposed to for our BonVoy status. Rooms were decently clean and there was a good amount of space. The hotel was on the lower end of most hotels we stay at and it was evident in the details. Beds were comfortable though not as much as the nicer hotels and they use cotton pillows. These things aren't really important to me as long as I can get a good night sleep (which I was able to do) but I do know it's very important to some, so if bed comfort is top priority then you may want to consider another hotel. There were some quirky things with the room that were a little annoying as well. The shower temperature was impossible to get right. I don't know if it was our room specifically but the temp would go from steaming hot to cold with nothing in between. We even sat there and slowly adjusted the water by about a cm or so at a time and waited a couple of minutes between each adjustment to see if it just took time for the temperature change to occur. It did not. It would stay scalding hot until you reached a certain point where it would just become cold. Another mildly annoying quirk is that the toilets would not flush unless you stood there holding the handle down until all the water in the tank had drained and even then would just barely flush. There is no onsite restaurant but the hotel is in a complex with restaurants and a Starbucks that are all within a couple minute walk. There is a gym and pool, both small but decent. The bar area is open from 5pm-11pm and there is a little area with snacks and beverages just off the front desk that you can get at any time as well. Parking is complimentary and there is a lot of it so no problems there. Overall just an ok hotel but if I'm being honest I probably won't stay again. You can get cheaper accommodations at other places like a Fairfield, Courtyard, or Residence inn with similar or better quality for much less. This hotel only took about 10 minute drive from airport. My driver could not find it right off. Very new hotel. Customer service was excellent. The bar and kitchen was priced great and doesn't close until 11:00 pm. I enjoyed the pool table and games in the lobby. We did not visit the pool area because it was cold. My bed was very comfortable. I needed a good sleep after a ling flight. Shower pressure was just how i like it.

5th floor door decorated--one of several occupied by cheerleaders. yay.

Visited from Boston for a family event and used points to book my room through the app. Check in ahead and using the electronic key was convenient and easy. Room was clean and very comfortable. My main issue was that it felt like I was in the freshmen dorm. Lots of cheerleaders and moms on my floor who were in and out of each other's rooms, doors propped open, running up and down the halls and generally loud and obnoxious. I let it go early afternoon Saturday but when it picked beck up again that night, I called the front desk. She called back and said they were sending someone up. Didn't seem to make a difference. Continued Sunday night, and I called again. I'd say I hate being that guy, but I don't when it's beyond acceptable. When I checked out, she must've had been I've who took my call because she acknowledged the loud cheerleaders. Mentioned that their parents signed forms...moms were just as obnoxious and loud. She apologized and said she'd tell her GM and add some points to my account. No points added but they did manage to charge me for the room that I paid for with points. Had to get that resolved with s few phone calls (a week later and charged still not reversed). I've stayed st several Aloft properties, and this isn't typical. Why let guests decorate their doors like it's a dor

Prior to this, I normally Thanksgiving Brunch at the Gaylord Texan each year. Their brunch is $100+ per person and I wanted to give the Constellation Club a try. PRIOR TO GOING: I made reservations over the phone. No credit card needed. Dress code expectation is business casual/ Sunday's Best. I was also told they validate parking. THE LOCATION: Easily found in the Irving/ Las Colinas area in the tallest building there. You'll know you found it because of the Mustangs statues in the front. Quick hint... valet is in the rear of the building. I parked in the garage area and took my ticket with me... to get validated. The club is on the 26th floor. Security is there to make sure you go to the right elevators. THE PLACE: Coming off the elevators (26th floor), you're greeted by folks at a table. The place has very modern decor and nice views of the city. On a clear day, you can see downtown Dallas, Arlington, and downtown Fort Worth. If you really know your city, you can see the 635/75 area and City Line in the distance. Great spot for taking selfies or taking in nice views. Anyways... Someone pulls your reservation. I was asked to pay ahead of time. Four people at $60 a piece, I paid a little over $300. Apparently there was a service charge that I wasn't told about over the phone. I ask about parking validation and was told that it was for members only. After some back and forth and back and forth and even more back and forth, they made an exception and validated my parking. Keep in mind, I was told they were validating parking for Thanksgiving (over the phone). I'm big on accountability. The gratuity was technically included but you get the option to tip additional. I would have tipped additional had there not been a service charge. The way I see it, if I can be surprised about a service charge, they can be surprised that I wasn't spending additional money. To me, the service charge was their tip. THE FOOD: After finding a seat (you sit anywhere), you go to the brunch buffet. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Scrambled eggs that look like they were made with powder. Bacon, apple sausage, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad, ham, turkey, and bland chicken wings. There was a separate room for deserts.... pecan pie, pumpkin pie, cookies, etc. Overall, the bacon, mashed potatoes, and turkey were winners. Everything else was either bland or average. STAFF: The wait staff were friendly and very attentive to our needs. OVERALL: It was a decent experience I did ONE TIME. It was also cool to find out what was in that tall building that I'd always drive by. WAS IT WORTH $60 ($300 for four people)? NO. Absolutely not. You have to keep in mind that besides the food (which was nothing to write home about), and the views of the city, there's nothing else to do. You're there to eat and leave. It's Thanksgiving and the area is a ghost town. It's not like you can take a walk and get into another activity. Coming full circle, this is why I mentioned the Gaylord Texan as a measuring bar. The Gaylord Texan validates parking if you eat the Thanksgiving brunch. You don't have to be a member. You can walk the resort and appreciate the decor... or participate in other activities. It's festive. Yes, the Gaylord is $100 per person but the food options are endless and taste amazing. I wouldn't do the Constellation Club again. I certainly didn't see the value in joining as a member. Definitely a one-time experience for me. I recommend going there for a drink (if they'll allow it) and checking out the views of DFW. If they want to keep it exclusive, let them have fun with that. It's not worth it.

When the power went out, there were guests who were stuck in the elevator... For 90 minutes! The Dallas Fire Department had to come and extricate people from all 4 elevators. Some people were forced to climb up 7 flights of stairs to get to our floor. Other guests ended up leaving the wedding altogether because we just never knew WHEN the lights and power were going to come back on. There was no back up generator or power source that the building could draw from. We were not able to start the wedding reception until AFTER 10pm! There was a quinceañera on another floor, and a 70th birthday party being held on a different floor. Everyone had NO POWER! (To be fair, when my mother came to check out this venue the week before the wedding, she said she had to take the stairs down, b/c the power went out then too - in the middle of the day!!!!) So for over 1 hour, our vendors were not able to serve our 400 wedding guests! I lost an hour of service from every single vendor - which ended up totaling over $12,000 lost. When I contacted the owners of the venue, they refused to take any accountability, saying they were not at fault. They refused to refund us even a fraction of the amount that we were owed. They refused that they owed us anything at all! We spent months trying to work out an agreement / negotiate compensation with the owner, to no avail. Nothing. Not even a dime. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU CHOOSE ANY OTHER VENUE FOR YOUR EVENT! IT'S NOT WORTH WASTING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY... SPEND A LITTLE EXTRA AND BOOK YOURSELF A DECENT VENUE. I would give this place 0/5 stars if I could. I highly do NOT recommend.

However the bathroom sinks may just be an elaborate prank pulled on every guest of this hotel. There are many photos already on here, but the pictures don't do it justice. The sink is approximately 7" x 12", and has a mirror jutting out over a portion of it, leaving you with roughly 4-5" of functional sink space. This will be the smallest sink you've ever used in your life (and I've spent lots of time in NYC and Chicago, where I've used some very small sinks). Need to wash your hands? You're getting water on your feet. Shave? Better wear a bathing suit. Wash your face? A wetsuit is recommended. Accidentally turn the water on too high when doing any of the above?
