I have mixed feelings about this Aloft. It was beautiful walking into the lobby. The bright colors and funky aesthetic was like eye candy. Friendly staff, and the designs around the hotel are all just so fun! However, I was a little disappointed there wasn't a microwave in the room. There is one microwave on the fifth floor for everyone to share. My room did have a mini fridge thankfully. Also the desk chair was not very comfortable but I loved the bed! As for the Wxyz bar, it was dead on a Saturday Night. I can imagine since Toyota Music Factory has been open, it's taken some of their thunder. The pool was lit though. I could see there were a bunch of people out there at night but luckily I couldn't hear them. read more

Average hotel that offers you the basics. The hotel is getting old and elevator takes sometime to get to your floor although there are only 5 levels. Hotel entrance is swanky but a bit odd. The check in counter is a little counter which I couldn't tell if it was a hotel guest check in counter. With that said, the basic room works well for an overnight stay. No breakfast included with your stay unless you're a platinum elite Bonvoy member. They do offer limited breakfast items - purchase à la cart. read more

Aloft is a budget hotel option in the Marriott brand. If you are looking for a place that will recognize Marriott status then this isn't it. We are BonVoy platinum members and received none of the benefits that come with the status (welcome gift, free breakfast/F&B credits, offered early check-in/late check-out, offered room upgrade, etc) despite the hotel being extremely slow (kind of looked deserted tbh). Staff were friendly and helpful though they offered nothing that they were supposed to for our BonVoy status. Rooms were decently clean and there was a good amount of space. The hotel was on the lower end of most hotels we stay at and it was evident in the details. Beds were comfortable though not as much as the nicer hotels and they use cotton pillows. These things aren't really important to me as long as I can get a good night sleep (which I was able to do) but I do know it's very important to some, so if bed comfort is top priority then you may want to consider another hotel. There were some quirky things with the room that were a little annoying as well. The shower temperature was impossible to get right. I don't know if it was our room specifically but the temp would go from steaming hot to cold with nothing in between. We even sat there and slowly adjusted the water by about a cm or so at a time and waited a couple of minutes between each adjustment to see if it just took time for the temperature change to occur. It did not. It would stay scalding hot until you reached a certain point where it would just become cold. Another mildly annoying quirk is that the toilets would not flush unless you stood there holding the handle down until all the water in the tank had drained and even then would just barely flush. There is no onsite restaurant but the hotel is in a complex with restaurants and a Starbucks that are all within a couple minute walk. There is a gym and pool, both small but decent. The bar area is open from 5pm-11pm and there is a little area with snacks and beverages just off the front desk that you can get at any time as well. Parking is complimentary and there is a lot of it so no problems there. Overall just an ok hotel but if I'm being honest I probably won't stay again. You can get cheaper accommodations at other places like a Fairfield, Courtyard, or Residence inn with similar or better quality for much less. The Aloft was just not the same this time around. No snack packs, the toiletries are now dry bar and very masculine in fragrance, the beds are so low to the ground (which hadn't changed but it bugs me now), and ice is literally nowhere to be found. Seriously, I asked at the front after walking my whole floor and they told me only five had a machine, but I walked that whole floor too with ice bucket in tow and couldn't find it. I also got put in an "accessible" room so the shower had a chair and the closet bar was low. And the room is freezing no matter where you set the thermostat - you have to turn it off. They do now have a local shuttle that you can take within five miles (not downtown and not to the airport) and there are a few places to grab food, but not much else in this strip. I think next time I'm here I'll head across the underpass. read more

Aloft is an excellent value if you're looking for a clean inexpensive hotel in Las Colinas. The real differentiator is the staff. They work as a unit to ensure top notch service. If you've stayed in an Aloft before, you're familiar with the room layout. The beds are ok. My primary complaints are the loud air conditioners and some of the rooms can be a little stuffy. I'm sure these issues will be addressed with the next upgrade. Still an excellent bang for the buck. I've stayed at least 100 nights at this location. The hotel is located in a small shopping strip mall with places like Chipotle, Corner Bakery and Tiff's Treats. The hotel also boasts a free shuttle (5 mi radius), full bar, pool tables, live music and entertainment. Check with the front desk to see what's on the calendar. There are nicer hotels in the area, but no better staff. Tell Johnny I sent you. He'll make sure you enjoy your stay. read more

I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at Aloft. The rooms are clean and just get the job done. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Nice little gym with weights, a cable machine, cardio machines, and yoga stuff. They also give you a voucher for breakfast which I used to get a chorizo breakfast burrito. I was there for work so didn't hit the bar nor pool but they seemed like places I wouldn't mind spending time at. I'll be back next time in in Irving for work. read more

Great hotel across freeway from Toyota Music factory. It's in the back of a small shipping complex so we found it to be quiet. Our room was nice and had a huge bathroom - which weirdly did hold the mini fridge. Beds were comfortable. We were in and out for a concert so we didn't get a chance to take advantage of any of the amenities but they do have a nice size bar and grab and go food. read more

Worst service of any hotel I've ever visited. They completely ruined our family's weekend away by giving away our reservation. We were booked, and had even already checked in to our "alleged" room, prior to arrival and were told our digital key would be available soon. Upon arrival, however, we weee then told that they did not have our room and had instead given it away to someone else. No sorry, no remedy, no assistance whatsoever, just complete ineptitude from a worthless staff that commits fraud by not honoring paid for reservations. Left us, with my wife and two kids, stranded at 12:15am with no room to stay in and no accommodations for what we are supposed to do about their abhorrent incompetence. I've stayed in this location quite a bit and it was nice. The beds are comfortable, the hotel is in a great location near Toyota Music Factory, Lake Carolyn and several restaurants. My earlier stays were definitely five star visits. However, my most recent visit left much to be desired. The air didn't work in the first room I was in, so they graciously changed my room. In the new room, the light in the bathroom was blinking like a strobe and the air worked, but sounded like a jack hammer. I had to leave the room to take a meeting because the AC was so loud. They kept adding charges to my credit card, but resolved it quickly. Needless to say, I won't stay here on a future visit to Dallas. read more

This hotel only took about 10 minute drive from airport. My driver could not find it right off. Very new hotel. Customer service was excellent. The bar and kitchen was priced great and doesn't close until 11:00 pm. I enjoyed the pool table and games in the lobby. We did not visit the pool area because it was cold. My bed was very comfortable. I needed a good sleep after a ling flight. Shower pressure was just how i like it. read more

Visited from Boston for a family event and used points to book my room through the app. Check in ahead and using the electronic key was convenient and easy. Room was clean and very comfortable. My main issue was that it felt like I was in the freshmen dorm. Lots of cheerleaders and moms on my floor who were in and out of each other's rooms, doors propped open, running up and down the halls and generally loud and obnoxious. I let it go early afternoon Saturday but when it picked beck up again that night, I called the front desk. She called back and said they were sending someone up. Didn't seem to make a difference. Continued Sunday night, and I called again. I'd say I hate being that guy, but I don't when it's beyond acceptable. When I checked out, she must've had been I've who took my call because she acknowledged the loud cheerleaders. Mentioned that their parents signed forms...moms were just as obnoxious and loud. She apologized and said she'd tell her GM and add some points to my account. No points added but they did manage to charge me for the room that I paid for with points. If I could give no stars I would. Front desk associate Louis was very rude upon check in. Made a very off the wall weird comment when I was tryna give the hotel a compliment about it being nice and fancy. She rudely told me that the hotel was not fancy but "querky and Techie" as of to say that I didn't know what I was talking about like I didn't belong there. Jennifer was also rude never even greeting me when I walked in and out of the front door as she pretended I wasn't there and spoke to other guests. I stayed one night on a business trip and probably wouldn't return. This location is very close to several places to eat, which is nice. I had a nice dinner at corner bakery right outside. The room was small and simple, which was fine for just me. I wasn't excited when I saw the shampoo dispenser on the wall with a two in one instead of conditioner. I have to say those don't usually work for my hair, although this one surprised me and wasn't horrible. The worst part was this awkward encounter at breakfast when I didn't see the menu boards and thought some of the food items were complementary and then the clerk had to call out on my way to the elevator and ask for my room number so he could charge it. There are so many places with a free breakfast, why bother with one that isn't? read more

Never stayed there, so can't attest to the quality. I canceled my reservation with them before my stay, but they still charged me for my stay. Said they have no record of the cancellation, but I do. I received the cancellation confirmation from them via email, including a cancellation number. They refuse to reimburse me because something happened to the system on their end and they have no record of the cancellation, but I do and I sent it to them and they still refuse to refund me for the stay that I canceled. We stayed here for my sisters birthday/bachelorette celebration. Hotel was good, location neutral, out of 13 of us no room issues at all. Trust we checked as we do at any place before unpacking and getting comfortable. Hotel staff had a mixed vibe... some were extremely pleasant while other just gave us an horrible look i guess to much culture for them in one spot at one time. We did not utilize much at the hotel due to us booking reservations in different locations around the area mainly Uptown. So basically we caught a few hours of sleep and was back at it bright and early the next morning. read more

Was here in the Dallas area on a business trip, and stayed here for most of the week. It is a short distance to the Dallas Fort Worth Airport and to Irving's business buildings. Staff are helpful and friendly. Courtesy shuttle only runs on weekdays, within 5 miles though. There is a mart at the lobby level and a bar, next to a pool table. A pool is in the back as well. The gym is small but fits the hotel theme and size. It is walking distance to Corner Bakery, Chipotle, Bank of America, and other eateries. It is also less than a mile from the Irving Convention Center and DART station. Overall, good value and location for business trips in the Irving area! read more

The gym is decent for a hotel - 2 bikes, elliptical and treadmill with a small selection of free weights and a cable machine. The room is decent and minimal. Front desk is friendly. But room is very loud. Haven't slept in 3 days. Air conditioner shuts on and off with a bang. Found the other loud noise...the little refrigerator. My lord, it's worse than being on an airplane. This place might be good for high school or college teams traveling to Dallas but if you are a professional staying for work, skip it. And there was at least one staying while here. It's a small place so it gets overrun quickly. Was stuck here over the weekend. Nice quiet time at the pool? Nope. It looked like they rented it out for a party. Loud music and a dozen kids took over the pool all day and into the night. Maybe another day. They allow pets which I guess is cool for some. But barking dogs. Strike three for sleep. Shower power is abysmal. Kramer hair, if you catch my drift. Bed is ok, nothing to write home about. Somebody wrote it's like staying in a college dorm. This was not a normal experience at an Aloft property. The check in process took about 15 mins... because there was no one at the front desk. There was no way to control the ac fan and it was on auto, which kept waking me up in the middle of the night.... the weirdest thing was that there was no soap bar for my hands or face, only body wash in the dispenser in the shower.... I requested one via the app on my phone, but never got one. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable. No smart tv, just regular cable. WiFi was free, and the rate was acceptable for the night. Would stay there again, but I now know what to expect from this specific Aloft. read more

Pet friendly hotel with no pet deposit! We needed a place to stay for two days and came across this hotel. The pricing here was great compared to other hotels around the area. We were able to take our fur baby with us and he sure did enjoy his time just spread eagle on the hotel lobby LOL. The staff here were really friendly. Our room was really clean and nice. We had no issues here. They have an area for the animals to use the BR and they even have doggie bags. There was always plenty of parking spots through out the day. Plus, the AC/heater air flow seems to blow directly in your face, regardless of which side of the room you sleep. Also, the hotel doesn't have light weight blankets, so there is only a choice of extremes: a thin sheet or a very thick down comforter. Tips- Book in advance! You can save a lot. When I booked ~3 weeks ahead, I paid $79 per night. When I had to book last minute, I paid ~$139 per night.. Also, watch for weekend specials. Currently, you can get the 2nd night 1/2 off if you book between Thurs & Sun. ps. ALOFT! I've been wanting to stay with you for years!!!!!! The online photos are amazing and I love modern decor and lots of color. So unlike drabby Marriott and Hilton etc, you, you have charisma, imagination, and a sense of adventure. So when the parents came to town, I seized upon my opportunity to book ALOFT! The decor was not disappointing. It was fun and funky. And I love that there was easy free parking, and easy free wifi, and easy free access to clean filtered water, and even hot drinking water for my Chinese parents. I made them watch Cheaters on your TV and translated all the action. The guy downstairs at reception was friendly and accommodating and we were even able to print out some boarding passes on the public computer. Cleanliness wise, it could have been a tad better. There were some green snot stain on one of my pillows and another one was stained as well with something less readily identifiable. The sliding bathroom door is a fail. I struggled with it so hard and it's always awkward after taking a giant shit or wet after showering to have to ask your dad to come let you out. It's also in a great location. Just 10 minutes to central Dallas. And 10 minutes to DFW. Of course I discovered my parents were flying out of Love Fucking Field after I drove them to DFW but the hotel would have been really close to DAL as well. FML. But they made it!! muahaha by the skin of their teeth as they say. But, overall, we loved it and will definitely be back! Hopefully with a bathroom door on hinges next time. :) read more

One word to describe this place: Chill. The aLoft has many things to like about this place and few things that suck big ass about it. What to Like: - The atmosphere is trendy with cool modern/contemporary furniture - The hotel bar is a good place to get drunk at a fair price - It's quiet... unless you hear some people humping in the next room (I counted 3 rooms getting it on... yes I'm a perv). - They provided Bliss as bath products - Rooms are cozy and comfortable - Gym is open 24 hrs. It's very clean, nice and gets the job done to make you look sexy. - There's a pool and sitting area outside - Pool table that's open for 24 hrs. Why does it suck balls? - Staff were as friendly as a raccoon with rabies (no "hello's," just dirty looks when you walk in... basically, most were dead behind the eyes). - Bathrooms were designed with cool things in mind... but I hate that the toilet I take a dump in was like 1 ft. away from the shower where I clean my balls in. - Nightlife around it is as boring as a movie staring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. read more

Aloft Las Colinas is the place where I had my "dammit I am old" realization. The place is like checking into freshman orientation all over again and like most things "modern", it had a sugary outer shell that covered up a pretty bland center. The rooms were.... Ok. Nothing fancy, just an average dorm mattress with cracker thick pillows and moderate sheets/duvet. There was literally no where to unpack our bag, so we had to live out of our suitcase for the 3 days we spent there, which again isn't the end of the world, just not necessarily worth the 100+ per night we spent to stay there. So all that being said, why the single star rating? Because this place threw the world's biggest party... in the lobby for some random third party guest. My wife and I had a beautiful date night out in Southlake only to be a little surprised upon our arrival to one heck of a loud/busy/off the chain shindig happening right in the hotel lobby, dj and dancing included. No warning as a guest.... Like coming home again in college to your roommates throwing a keg party and you have a test the next day. We immediately thought, "cool, what a hip place", but as we lay in bed 4 hours later at 12:45am, three stories above the lobby/party, groaning to ourselves that we made the worst mistake of our lives.... we knew we made a bad decision. Hence the feeling old part. If you want a fun, hip, LOUD, fun time in a snazzy, cheaply modern themed hotel.... This place is rad. If you want a boutiquey, hip, comfortable and romantic place for you and you wife? Skip it. Stay at the Hilton Rockwall Lakefront or Hilton in down town Southlake. So, I was booking my Spring Break vacation and I decided I want to go for a big-boy hotel, but didnt want to put a major dent in the bank account. Luckily Aloft showed up in my search results and let's just say that I was very pleased with my decision to stay here. When you first walk in you're greeted to some nice chill/lounge/house music. If that's not your thing, then, you're immediately taken aback, but for me it felt like home. The furniture and design have a modern slant to it and the exposed AC piping in the ceiling gives it that industrial touch. I dont know what they were pumping through the vents but the hotel smelled so good! The entrance during the day let lots of light in and during the night it was lit with some soft, yet vibrant colors. There's also a nice pool/patio area for guest to enjoy during the day. Unfortunately the weather turned against us during our trip so we didnt do much of that. The rooms are pretty spacious and the beds comfortable. I even wanted to keep the accent pillow that was on ming because it was so nice. The rooms are decked out like the rest of the hotel: modern furniture with a bit of industrial thrown in. The bathroom is especially nice and the shower is pretty awesome. I just wish they had 1 more extra chair in the rooms instead of the bench sitting below the wall-mounted television. The staff was very courteous except for the bartender. I dont know if she was having a pretty "blah" night or just the slowness of it all, but she just didnt seem to want to talk to us much beyond taking our order. Overall I'd definitely recommend it. If you want to stay at something similar to the W, but without all the extra added costs, I say Aloft is the way to go! read more

So I read the Yelp reviews and visited the hotel's website and still missed some things. Here's a little clarification: Pool is outdoor but heated. (Missed that, didn't bring a swimsuit because I thought it would be too cold to take a dip!) Re:Fuel area has reasonably priced quick breakfast items, including lattes and fresh fruit. But, McDonald's is just across the street and they have better oatmeal. Also, Aloft is located in a retail area which consists of several businesses all within just a few yards of one another. So, you can also have a great breakfast at the Corner Bakery Cafe just a couple of doors down. Now for some driving instructions: Las Colinas Mustang sculptures are just a few blocks north on O'Connor. Going south on O'Connor (to the left from the parking lot) you can connect with Hwy 183. Pretty drive past the Las Colinas Country Club and through well-manicured neighborhood. Much better than getting out on Hwy 114 (in front of hotel) to connect with other main highways. Now, about that review: Bed was a little firm for my taste, but then again I'm spoiled to my sleep number. Shower was great, but lighting in shower area was dim. Not that I need a lot of light to shower, but really....I don't need ambiance in the shower either. Maybe the lighting is dim because the light from the shower area shines through to the bedroom. This means if someone else in the room with you sleeps later or goes to bed earlier and you take a shower...there's no way to keep the bedroom dark. That having been said, this was a really cool place to stay. Easy in/easy out. Staff super nice. Got a great rate. Check the website for a variety of promotions and special deals. Stayed here while visiting Dallas for my birthday. I want to start by saying Friday morning around 8:15 am they begin practice setting off the fire alarm off for the hours. I guess I will not be able to sleep in?? This was a huge inconvenience to be on vacation and not able to sleep in. There was no notification when we set the reservations and the only thing they were willing to offer was for us to check out of the hotel and find somewhere else last minute on a Friday in Dallas right before the Bears Vs Cowboys game. Management knew we really didn't have a choice but to stay and deal with it so it was a didn't care attitude about it. No help for the inconvenience but you can leave and find somewhere else. This really put a damper on my birthday trip. If there was a note or warning of some sort before booking and I still decided to book then I can see but there wasn't. Perfect get-away while visiting Dallas. We had to book something last minute when it turned out we couldnt stay with our friends as expected. I hopped on hotwire the day before our check in and was matched with this hotel anonymously. Some of the reviews on the aloft chain in general complained "too trendy" or "meant for younger crowd" or "cheap rip off of W hotel". I am in my mid to late 20's and I thought that it was funky fun and cool. I guess I could see my parents finding it a little out there, but the staff was nice, the facilities were clean and well kept, and the rooms were innovative and a good use of space. Definitely trendy but I really liked it. I would stay here again. read more

First time staying at an Aloft hotel and wasn't really impressed. It was close to DFW and the area where my business was. Honestly, I felt that I was staying at a European hostel. Just wasn't my taste. Service was blah as I had some issues with my room and the staff members didn't seem to know what was going on. The problem got fixed but overall they didn't seem to be bothered to help the guests. The hotel was clean and I thought that the fitness center was nice and in good condition. The rooms were a little odd, but the bed was comfortable and I had e erything I needed. Lack of closet space bugged me, but the shower was nice. read more

Stayed at this location twice within the past two months for a couple of days and was beyond disappointed. The first visit back in November, I fell in front of the elevator during the first night, second day the plumping was shut off so there was no running water from 9AM-6PM. Super hard to get ready for work and to freshen up with no water in the room. The room was also missing basic necessities like iron and hair dryer. My second visit two weeks ago, the pressure in the shower was so unbearable due to the intense spray so I had a difficult time getting ready. It took several calls to the front desk to finally get the maintenance worker to clean the shower head but it still had strong pressure that felt like my skin was being ripped off. There was also a missing iron in the room at this time. I have spoken to the General Manager Mary Upkong however have not received a response to the email I have sent. Overall, I will not be returning and will take my business elsewhere. read more

So...right when I walked in, I was politely greeted... The "concierge" gave great recommendations on dining options around the area The decor of the hotel when you first walk in has an IKEA type of feel... It's "cool" hip kind of appearance gives it an appeal that I think would impress a younger crowd...I however was not impressed with the comfort of the room. The bed is on a platform, and kept moving around... So not fun when you first sit down, or get up from the bed... The little swanky bar had really great drinks... I had the "cosmo" which was quite tasty.. The hotel has a little area that sells coffee and if you don't have time to eat breakfast during your stay, they have some simple items for purchase. My husband and I went on a spontaneous road trip and randomly got this hotel assigned to us after booking one of those Hotwire "Hot Rate" deals. We were excited to try out an aloft hotel and needless to say we were NOT disappointed. This hotel was impressive from the start. The hotel staff at the front desk is cheerful and welcoming and make sure you have everything you need. The room was SUPER clean and had all the extra amenities you could as for - desk, tv, coffee, LOTS of storage space, etc. Downstairs in the lobby is an area to play pool, a bar, refreshments, and games. I got hooked at their fresh cucumber water they put out every day and now make my own at home. This hotel is a great stay! read more

I have stayed at the location many times and I must say, this was the worst of them yet. This has to be one of the dirtiest hotels that I have stayed at. From the lobby, to the elevators and through the hallways. The room just felt dirty... Hand marks on the mirrors, sticky counters, etc. Completely gone down hill. I am also not a fan of their new breakfast process and options. When I am up at 6am, warm breakfast is nice. Not microwaved bowls of food. The gym was dirty and the water jug was either 2/3 empty or empty. No towels and no disinfectant wipes. The staff, although available, just felt like they are going through the motions. I don't need special treatment, but I do not expect to seem as if I am disrupting them when I am checking in or paying for my "snacks" for breakfast. The A/C unit in the room barely cooled it off and very noisy unit. I have noticed this slowly getting worse after each stay and I think this was the last time. There are way too many options to have this experience. I have stayed at other Aloft's and they were a complete opposite of this experience.
