Hipster hotel, if you're into the millennial scene the atmosphere will be attractive to you. Furniture is brightly colored, modern and uncomfortable. Industrial design, lots of concrete and exposed HVAC. Noise insulation is almost non-existent, I was on the 3rd floor and listened to the happy hour live music in the lobby from around 9-10 as well as the loud happy hour crowd at the pool while trying to work. Was able to hear conversations clearly in the hallway and next door. Bed and shower were good, and comfortable. Food extremely overpriced. $3.50 for a small cup of coffee you make yourself, for example. Wireless network poor, and Verizon cellular fluctuated between 1 bar and 3. read more

I will NEVER stay here nor recommend this hotel to anyone I know. I try not to look at things on the bright side and give people the benefit of the doubt but no matter how I look at what happened, I cannot possibly do this with the staff at Aloft Las Colinas. My company booked a room for me on October 18, 2018 at the Aloft Las Colinas for me to attend a seminar. I was to check-in on Monday, November 12, 2018 and check-out Tuesday, November 13, 2018. We received the email confirmation of the room and all. I walked to the counter and gave the young lady behind the counter my name and advised her I was checking in. She immediately called Grant to the desk (I assumed he was the manager at that point), but I wasn't sure why. Grant then advised me that they overbooked the hotel by 3 rooms and cancelled my reservation and was moving me to the Holiday Inn. I was shocked because I have never had this happen before. I asked him why and asked why wasn't I nor my company notified of this. He said he didn't see any contact information, which I didn't believe. When the room was confirmed, we received an email so why wouldn't we receive anything when the room was cancelled? He went on to say they cancelled 3 people's reservations due to the overbooking. When I asked how were the 3 people selected, he said randomly. This made no sense to me but after traveling and not feeling well, I let it slide. To accommodate me, Grant offered me a drink from the bar. I didn't want a drink from the bar, I wanted to lay down in the room that my company booked at the Aloft for me. A lady was sitting on the bench then advised me that she had her reservation cancelled by them as well and she been there for about 15 minutes. During the time she was sitting there and before I arrived, she said 2 other people had walked in and checked in without an issue. She found it interesting that both her and I are women of color and both had our reservation cancelled, without any notification, and were both moved to the Holiday Inn. However, the other 2 patrons that walked in after her but before me and got their rooms without a problem were both white. We both asked Grant again, how were the people who got cancelled selected? He said they were selected randomly. I have a hard time believing that because I doubt there's some sort of algorithm that selected who would get their room cancelled. All while we're talking to Grant, another white patron walks in, a gentleman this time. He checked in and got his room without a problem. At this point, we were livid, however remained professional. There's no way anyone can tell me that two of the three people that got bumped were black and it was randomly selected. Also, it couldn't have been that we checked in late and that's why we got bumped because three people came in after me and checked in. The only thing Grant could say is that he was sorry and offered to give me points on my SPG for a one-night stay. I didn't want a one-night stay, I don't want a drink, I wanted a better explanation that wasn't a lie because for 2 black women to had their rooms cancelled and a total of 5 white people walk in after them and get rooms doesn't look right at all. I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the Aloft Las Colinas and their treatment of customers. I can't believe something like this has happened. I try not to be negative, but no matter how you look at this situation, it doesn't look unbiased. read more

The less extravagant brand from Starwood, kind of like the W's little brother/sister. This property must be a little older or potentially redone from another former hotel. It looks nice but there are little things in the hallways and room that say"I need a remodel". My room was fine but the heating/AC unit was LOUD. I tend to keep my heating/AC unit running when I travel but this one was certainly louder than normal. My colleagues ALL complained about them. And they also complained about the walls being ultra thin -- "you could hear the person in the room next to me going to the bathroom". Yuck. I had my heating/AC unit running all the time so I didn't hear a thing in the rooms next to mine. I didn't like that the soap and shampoo/conditioner were in a dispenser in the shower. Felt a bit like I was at the health club instead of a hotel. Overall, my stay was fine. But I'm not sure I'll be running back to this one. read more

While we finally were able to be moved to a room that didn't feel like walking on asphalt in Houston in md July, let me strongly caution you to request that you NOT be given a room on the 5th (top) floor of this hotel if it's hot outside. The hallway was still a blast furnace at midnight and our room was not much cooler. Too much radiant heat from the roof I'm sure was too much for a small AC in the room to overcome. That said, the room we moved to on the first floor was very nice, although the hallway was still miserably hot. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The decor is what I would call mid-century modern. An interesting change but I will not likely stay at a hotel from this chain again as I prefer traditional. The staff who checked us in and out and arranged for us to move to a new room were very amenable. It still is s mystery why those 5th floor rooms are rented to customers in the blasting hot summer days in Dallas. read more

This was my first time staying at Aloft and it was fantastic. However, it started off rocky when I called ahead to confirm bed size for my room. Unfortunately I was lectured - nay, scolded and reprimanded by an incredibly rude rep for booking my room through 3rd party online booking. When I began to defend myself in utter shock, as I had just said it was my first time and I was so excited to try Aloft, she actually hung up on me. I called back to get her name and was informed that the woman I spoke with was most likely on a switch board in the Midwest and to press 0 to talk to the actual front desk. Thank god when I did this Monica answered the phone! Monica apologized for my experience, was kind, professional and confirmed that I would receive the requested bed size and added that she was excited for my first stay with them as well! Upon arriving Monica was so welcoming and wonderful- alas my first time at Aloft was salvaged thanks to her! From there everything was excellent. Quick check in, spotless room, great decor, friendly staff, fun bar in the lobby and a pool table for me and my husband to enjoy as well! In addition they have a great outdoor patio with a pool and fire pit. This is a convenient, easy, clean and welcoming place to stay. The perfect distance between the airport and Dallas, about 15-20 minutes respectively. I have to say that it is well worth spending a few extra dollars per night to have this hip, modern and fun experience. I also highly recommend grabbing a drink at the bar and going out by the for pit to check out the Texas night sky. After this experience I am looking forward to my next stay with Aloft. read more

I'm a regular at the Aloft Dallas Downtown, but I decided to switch it up during this trip because let's face it: who can pass up a nightly rate of $69? Not me. This particular Aloft property is located within walking distance of a Turkish restaurant (Zeytin) as well as several chains (Chipotle and Corner Bakery) if that's more your flavor. And we're talking same strip mall walking distance... now that's something a constantly-on-the go road warrior like myself can get behind! 'Cause when I finally arrive at my destination, the last thing I want to do is get back in my car to source a good meal (insider tip: eat at Zeytin's... they're just lovely!). The good: // free wifi // free gym and pool access // free in-room bottled water // motel prices for a hotel experience // FREE PARKING! The not-so-good: // no real perks for Starwood Platinum guests (usually, Aloft hotels bump me up to a better room and/or give me a free voucher for a hot beverage. It's in the small details, yes?) // sheets look tired, even dingy. But, they're super soft. // weak water pressure in the shower // traveling with your pooch is awesome, but not when someone else's pooch keeps you up with his or her incessant barking. Poor little guy was lonely, I think. // the HVAC runs obscenely loud (think angry generator-style), which added to my lack-of-sleep woes. Something to remember: If you put the green hangtag on your door, your room will not be refreshed. I knew that my sheets wouldn't be changed, but didn't realize that toiletries/water wouldn't be restocked. The Starwood associate working the check-in desk hooked me up with a bottle of water on my way up to the room, though. I'd stay here again in the name of saving company dollars, but this is definitely more of a 'no frills' Aloft experience. And this is coming from someone who loves the brand! I give it a 5 star review. Based only on the music playing in the bar. The Rooms are really 5 star because they are minimalist and extremely clean. The have a great selection of magazines for when you are popping a squat. I swapped them a copy of Entrepreneur for Wired and they didn't charge my account. They have dispensers in the shower which I figured is pretty modern. The Bar was pretty awesome too, for a Dallas hotel bar. The bartender was nice, and hooked me up with a free beer. I almost subtracted a star for the loud crappy dance music they play 24/7, but added it back after I found out they say Aloha as a greeting. I stay here everytime I visit Las Colinas on business. It's conveniently located to my Dallas office and it's a great hotel. It caters to the business traveler. The rooms are very spacious and clean. It was a modern look and feel to it with lots of color. The outdoor area is a nice spot. The green artsy sofas, rectangular lights and huge red lounge things (it's too big to be a chair) was pretty cool. Great deal for the price. That's why I'm here over and over again. I didn't stay here so minus 1 star. Saturday was a relaxing night at this small bar - not too small for this small loft style hotel. This place as been open about 6 weeks? The two bartender were very fun. Pool table, monopoly, connect 4, Giada DeLaurentis' latest cook book, fireplace, 4 LG LCD screens in a cube, infused vodka in a jar, tater-tots and egg rolls, metal bar top with LED lights, free internet so those yelpers on facebook i hope you got thos free drinks, a driver to get you were you need to go(even 15m downtown), typical W Hotel music mind you and a bit of an industrial area. I've complied a list of pros and cons on my stay here. Pros: - I love how eco-friendly they are. (There's a recycling bin in the room, they have rewards if you choose not to have your sheets changed, they have a dispenser of shampoo and body wash which helps cut down on plastic, etc.) - The hotel is aesthetically pleasing. Nice bright colors, funky furniture, very different from your typical hotel. - A lot of outlets! There's two on both sides of the bed so you can easily charge your phone right next to you. There's also more on the other side of the wall so you can charge all your electronics at once. - Free wifi. Win. Cons: - We made reservations online for a room with 2 queen beds, but when we arrived, they gave us a room with one king bed. We specified that we reserved a room with TWO beds, seeing as there are more than 2 people staying, but they said that all the rooms with 2 beds are booked and there was nothing they could do. Yeah, we ended up squeezing in one bed. - Since we had the first floor, our windows faced directly into the parking lot so I never felt comfortable leaving our curtains open. That sucked because the room was already very dim and that's with ALL the light fixtures on. - Another con is their frosted glass wall next to the bed that is shared with the shower. If I was sharing the room with just my boyfriend I wouldn't care, but because I was with friends, I was paranoid every time I took a shower because although it's frosted, you can still SEE them. No thanks. - Low water pressure and REALLY loud A/C unit. I did not have one good night of sleep. Would I stay here again? Meh. Maybe if I can snag a really good deal. Pictures very misleading. I booked this for the great location and this was for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Pictures taken at wide angle. Hotel lobby quite small and pool table and lounge area right there where reservations are being taken. No privacy and a lot of kids running around. I think the biggest issue was no one picked up any mess left behind in lobby. Workers unfriendly at night and morning staff not the friendliest. The pool table is run down and so is the lobby area. Chairs need a good cleaning and one pool stick cannot even be used. There is just wood at the end and no tip. The walls seemed thin as I could hear talking right beside us so not good for a romantic night out! I would not recommend. The only good thing is rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Not a lot of shower pressure and we took a shower super early in the morning. Anyway, enough complaining. I am just making sure I put this review on here to spare anyone else of staying here and may be unpleasantly surprised. We were! read more

The Good: :: it's a very different, interesting alternative to your standard lodging for business travel :: modern :: new and clean :: small but well-laid out rooms. you don't need a lot of space, and that's why i love the rooms here. :: the rooms overall. king-sized bed, down comforter, down pillows, glass-door shower stalls, Bliss products for use, in-room safe that can easily fit a 15" laptop and more, in-room mini fridge, kohler fixtures, comfortable desk chair, 42" lcd flat panel tv, interesting magazines for reading, per-cup coffeemaker that also makes per-cup tea :: they don't nickel and dime you like other business hotels do. there's free parking, free wireless, free complementary bottle of water on arrival :: 2 computers for free use with free printing. :: kiosks for checking in, checking out, printing your boarding passes, getting extra room keys, etc :: entertainment options. they have a wii for you to play for free til the bar closes at midnight. i had a blast playing guitar hero each night i was there!!! :: the bar. they have awesome drinks, awesome appetizers, and friendly sociable bartenders :: outside. there's a cute small pool (more for relaxing and wading than actual swimming), cute cushiony areas, and plenty of chairs around tables and a gas-lit firepit. makes for a great evening low-key outside outing :: 24-7 access to food and snacks and drinks. it's not free but why would they be? :: the manager ryan is really nice, walked around to greet guests and talk to them. The Bad: :: the nonstop club music in the lobby and bar area. i wish they'd play a mixture of music, like some frank sinatra, some indie, some electronic, etc. not just horrible club music 24-7 The Ugly: :: none. Aloft by Marriott Las Colinas - Hotels Near Me - Irving, Texas

Perception is reality and setting and realizing your expectations are key. There are different hotel chains for everyone, and many hotel chains assert a "personality" or a "brand image." I think that's why a good deal of these reviews bemoan the modernity, funkiness, and hip vibe of the Aloft brand from people who expected a more subdued experience. For someone like me, however, what Aloft is and whom they're attempting to appeal to is perfect for a business/leisure traveler like me. First of all, if you're familiar with the W brand of hotels under the Starwood hotels umbrella, then you'll understand it when I say that Aloft is like the funkier and more attainable version of the higher-end but also funky W brand. It's the the Virgin Airlines of hotels, whereas some travelers might be expecting the Courtyard Marriott, or Delta Airlines version of hotel, and be sorely disappointed. Sorry, too many frequent traveler jokes in there... "She's fresh (fresh), and exciting..." - that's the song I hear in my head (and maybe a techno/electronica remix of it playing overhead) when I enter the lobby of any Aloft, especially this one. Even the hotel bar is hip, funky, and fun, and always populated by people you actually might not mind sitting next to for an adult beverage. The staff members are generally young, energetic, and chatty. The market area in the lobby has a ton of healthy and tasty food choices 24/7, and hot sandwiches can be made-to-order during breakfast hours. Um, even the elevator is like a rave, as the floor has a psychedelic liquid-filled portion that changes when you step on it, probably dancing or tapping your foot to whatever high-energy music is pumping over the speakers. And the rooms - LOVE. But again, you have to align your expectations correctly. Think "urban-luxe" or "former factory turned into urban-chic lofts" and "uber-modern." Got it? Rooms also have a safe, a fridge, an awesome A/V integration panel into the huge flat-screen wall-mounted TV, and (like big sister W), Bliss Spa toiletries - yay! Finally - and most importantly - the "compound" in which this Aloft is located could not be more convenient to Irving/Dallas, and also in and of itself, it shares a parking lot with a nail salon, a hair salon, a Jimmy John's, a Chipotle, a Corner Bakery, a Mediterranean place, a Bank of America, a Chicago-style pizza place, a dentist, and across the street is a convenience store and gas station - so almost every need can be met within walking distance. Great rates, SPG points if you collect them, and an overall awesome place to stay for certain folks! read more

Very pleasant stay here. We went up to Dallas during Memorial Day weekend and didn't want to break the bank on a hotel bill. We scored a great deal at $55/night. Las Colinas is very convenient to everything - 15 mins from downtown and to most major points in Dallas. This is like the Courtyard Marriott version of W Hotels. We usually stay at W hotels when we can so we felt right at home here. Nice vibe when you walk in the door and the rooms are smart and efficient. The good thing is that there is a Corner Bakery Cafe, Chipolte and a pizza place within walking distance. I was happy that I could get my morning latte within a 1 minute walk. If you want a nice room close to downtown for a great value, stay here. read more

DALLAS, TX: This is the worst Aloft I've stayed at. It's mismanaged. Yes, I will be very specific. 1. I called in two days in a row to confirm our four rooms, all king beds, pay in advance with credit card authorization, and then check in early the day of our midnight arrival. I spoke with MELANIE for a combined 90 MINUTES over both days. Then when I arrived at the hotel (a) the payment had not been made, (b) the rooms were not checked in, and (c) we got double queen beds. We had to wait from 12:30am to 12:45 am to get the four of us checked in. Absolutely nothing I had requested and confirmed had been done. None of it. Gross incompetence/laziness on Melanie's part. 2. I arrive in my room and there are white stains on the leather bench under the TV. Easy to spot, easy to clean, made the room appear dirty and used. I wonder what else was missed. 3. The soap pump in the shower didn't work. Small thing, but it's symptomatic of the overall carelessness of the management. 4. I return to my room for the second night and the housekeeping had done a slapdash job cleaning my room. There was a tissue that had been left on the countertop (?), a pillow was on the floor, and the free and clear tag hadn't been replaced on the water. Small things, but I've never seen something so obvious missed in a routine hotel room cleanup. Someone was in a hurry, lazy, or incompetent. These are the basics of cleaning a hotel room. What else was missed? I am platinum and stay in hotels twice weekly. 5. Saving grace (+1 star) was the evening/night clerk at the front desk. I missed his name, 6', mid 20's, short hair, African American, he apologized for the scheduling disaster and loaned me his personal phone charger. Kudos! read more

Love that they are so green! Very friendly staff and cool bar scene. The hotel feels very Swedish - IKEA-like. Odd placement (in parking lot) and no views. Strange decor (fridge in bathroom?), but overall interesting! Negatives: AC unit is loud and oddly placed. No fan I'm room.... Internet was out for most of our trip, which included the phones. We received a wake up call we didn't ask for, a maid knocking on our door with "do not disturb"sign, and a broken light bulb above bed. I would try Aloft again at a different location...great concept. read more

To say that I have stayed in numerous hotel rooms is an understatement! And they all seems to blend together. Aloft is different, funky and refreshing (the price is refreshing too). My line of work only affords me a couple of days [max] at the same hotel, so the Aloft design works well for me. In and Out with no hassles. Modern rooms with ample plugs (for all of my gadgets), good work space, walk-in shower (no nasty, cold, plastic curtain rubbing up against up in a re-lined slippery tub). There is no room service or elaborate restaurant, but there are light breakfast and snacking options. There is also plenty of reading material available... New Yorker, Wired, Spin and USA Today. If you're looking for an extended stay, this may not be the place for you. Alfot is now officially my second favorite hotel in the Dallas area. I thought this hotel was GREAT. The bed was very comfortable, the bar area is awesome and they have happy hour until 7pm. The other reviewers are right, the closet space is weird and minimal, but I was only there for a couple of days for work travel so it suited me just fine. The bathrooms are large and modern and spacious with giant glass doors...no tub...stand up shower. I absolutely love my stay. The fitness room is small but it didn't seem to get much traffic so I was always able to get on one of the two treadmills. They provide towels and water for you in the gym. I didn't use the pool but it seemed to have nice chairs and even a tent/covered seating spot in the corner which I thought was cool. There are plenty of places to eat nearby too (I had a car but even without a car you can walk to a couple places).. I'd definitely stay here again. read more

Funky, Chic. Cool. And fun. It starts with hip music playing before you even walk in. Then all sorts of neon colors from the swanky ultra-hip decor greet you when you enter past the waterfall. The clerk at the round desk greets you with "Aloha: before checking you into your loft. Immediately you know something's different. This isn't your run-of-the-mill hotel. This is "aloft." A "vision" of the W chain of hotels (and therefore the Starwood chain), aloft is following hot on the heels of Hyatt Place. The rooms are minimalist and highly functional. Your "loft" isn't big, but every inch of space is used. You have magazines (Details, Spin, etc.) for your reading pleasure, a big-screen flat panel mounted on the wall with about 10 different inputs for you to plug in whatever you've got and enjoy it on the screen. Your bed is decidedly firm. The shower is not a tub; it's a glassed-in shower with no bottled shampoos; a functional pump of high-end shampoos and body scrubs are the order here. Free wired or wireless wifi are also ready for you. Outside your room, back in the land of the dance music playing, the have Re:Mix, a lounge for you just to hang out; the "w xyz" bar with a happy hour each night (get it? w?); Re:Fresh fitness center; the pool and so forth. My one disappointment was Re:Fuel, the 24/7 food center. At the Hyatt Place, this concept is rounded out with everything from candy to soft drinks to sandwiches to selections you can order. A chef is there for breakfast, for example, and I can swipe my room key and have an omelette from the menu freshly made, or I can just grab some french toast and be on my way. This was NOT the case with aloft, much to my chagrin. I was hungry at 11 p.m., not having had dinner, but knowing I had Re:Fuel downstairs. I got down there to find chips, soft drinks, cookies and cheesecake. Those were my choices for dinner. So I had a $6 piece of cheesecake for dinner, which I had to take to the front desk clerk who doubles as cashier. This concept needs some work. Otherwise, this is a fun, funky, hip concept that takes the drudgery out of staying in a hotel. I'll be back at aloft on my next visit, but I'll take better advantage of the minifridge in my room :-) read more

To be fair, I'll say that I went here hoping for a great bar experience and I cannot review the rooms. I went to admire the ambiance and try cool liquor. I drove all the way to Las Colinas hoping for something special. Instead, I got annoyed. I must say, the free parking was awesome! I totally heart free parking. I'm not sure where designated parking for Aloft was though. All of the parking seemed to be "retail parking only". I took my chances and wasn't ticketed or towed. I walked inside and was excited for about 3 seconds. That wore off. Aloft was pretty but didn't have the finished feel of the W. It felt like a newbie had decorated with all the right things but no real feel for what they were doing. It had no heart, no soul, just STUFF. I found what seemed to be the only drink menu floating around, picked out a drink that sounded yummy, and made my way to the bar. Then, I waited. Then, I waited some more. The bar was obviously unprepared for the turnout of our meetup group. "They ran out of mint and can't make our drink" (the signature drink that night for the meetup was Mojito), said a girl who was already sitting at the bar. "I asked for an amaretto sour and they're out of that, too," she said. I waited some more. Two gentlemen came up behind me complaining they couldn't get service and they hoped standing behind me would help their chances. Fourteen minutes later, it did. I tried to order the Golf Tea. "What?" asked the bartender. "The Golf Tea. It's on the menu." "What?" asked the bartender. "You know. It has sweet tea vodka and lemonade." "Ha?" asked the bartender. Then, she went and snatched up a menu. She browsed, closed the menu, and asked, "What is it?" I took the menu and pointed to the drink I wanted. She looked at the menu, then at me. Her face said, "I don't get it." Just then, a girl walked behind the bar with mint she had just bought from the grocery store. "I'll take a mojito," I conceded. I finally visited Aloft! The ambiance was okay. The mojito ended up being one of the best tasting mojitos I've had. The service was not okay. I do not feel the need to see the rooms. read more

This one is identical to the one in Plano, same size room, same layout, same huge shower, if not for the extra high ceiling, (on the 1st floor this time) and connecting door, I couldn't tell the difference, I take it back, they wore different color polo shirts. I especially like the multi media connection box, I know, geeky. They did leave a big bag of goodies, (cookies, chips, granola bar), and kept putting bottled water in my room. One minor rant, the effing fridge was on its last leg, it makes this griding sound, I unplugged it when I went in the room, plugged it back before I went out, problem solved. read more

Um.. To be fair, I wasn't a paying customer. My friend was in town for a wedding and got to stay for free that night. I agree with whomever said it was a simple version of a W hotel. Everything felt like it was placed randomly. We grabbed grub from In-N-Out down the street, but if we hadn't, we would have been paying an arm and a leg for food. If I recall correctly, they only provided room service on certain days which seemed peculiar to me. The lady at check out didn't seem too ecstatic with her job, which is always a fun time. If we'd actually payed for what they normally charge per night, I'd be pissed. If you're going to pay that much, head to a luxury hotel in Dallas for much better details and service. read more

I've stayed at the Aloft a few times and have to say -- it's my favorite hotel in the Las Colinas area. Very cool and clean. Affordable. Best value in the area for your money. Pros: -Free shuttle transporation service within 5 miles. This is super helpful if you're here for a quick business trip - no need to rent a car. -Equally as far away from DFW & DAL airports. I have stayed at different Aloft locations but this was my first stay at the Las Colinas location. The staff was helpful and the room was clean. Very comparable to other locations. The area is nice and was central to where I was going but probably not where you want to stay if you are visiting for the main Dallas attractions and downtown area or using Uber for everything. read more

Fantastic hotel - clean, modern, funky, and a really nice spot to stay if you're in town. This place is about 15 minutes away from downtown Dallas. The service staff is fantastic here - if you ever need anything from them, they ensure to handle requests straightaway. Though this hotel is mostly for consultants and business people, it has a great lounge seating/bar area which makes you feel relaxed once you arrive. Stayed here while in town for a conference. I have nothing negative at all to say. It was a last minute switch and I could not have been happier. Saw it, checked in, got my wifi, showered and went to sleep. The decor is nice, the staff hip, and yes, it's basically a yuppie's hotel dream. Another excellent Aloft location. This one in Las Colinas (Irving, TX) continues the standard of excellent accommodations. We stayed here the night before we moved from Irving to Richardson and it was a relief to be able to relax and rest before the big day. Also, the showers are amazing...just like with all the other Alofts where I have stayed. read more

'It's like a budget W hotel.' Low water pressure. Costly sundries. Zebra printed wallpaper. Crappy pillows. The perks? Nice location, salted pool (full of mosquitoes), and a decent bar/lounge area. Perfect for business trips. Terrible if you're actually looking to impress someone. read more

I am an SPG Gold member so when i went to Dallas I found a great deal at this location. The room was great and comfy, but i didn't like the sliding door for the bathroom since it felt like you had no privacy at all. I also tried with 3 different staff members and none of them could get my key less entry to work which is a shame since you get free SPG points for activating it. If you are going to the convention center this is a prime location. I was visiting friends and there was still enough to do in the area which made us super happy! read more

This place has potential but fails in execution. Aloft tries for the hip and cool vibe boasting a hip and happening party on Friday nights... but my boyfriend and I were definitely the only ones downstairs at the bar. Oh yea, and the drinks here are quite steep for being in Irving! The rooms are set up loft style. When we walked in the door, we were immediately greeted by the bathroom. Kinda awkward. Modern? Sure. But it's at the expense of quality. The rooms are spacious, but the closet space and storage area are pathetic. All you get is a shelf with not much width at all. Beds are lumpy and quite uncomfortable to sleep in. The flooring was cheaply done and gave the room a very cold and uninviting feel to it. I equate my experience here to staying in someone's renovated garage. Maybe a basement, but basements are usually nicer. I can't complain about the service, and the bar seemed pretty happenin' for a lower-end hotel. Would I stay here again? Nah. read more

I had high hopes...but was pretty let down. Yes, it is modern. The bar area and service was great. The rooms were large but the closet space and storage area were tiny! Someone else mentioned the carpeting/ flooring, and yes it was cheaply done. My room didn't have water or tea, and the shower head was broken and was shooting water all over the place. Also they are all about being green, the TV in my room was left on all day by house cleaning and they screwed up on my points...The manager of the property contacted me about my feedback and I told him waht happened...and never heard back. The follow-up is horrible...I don't think I would give them my business again. I was unimpressed. read more

I've stayed here a few times years ago and it was a better experience then my recent one. This time the front desk staff was not attentive at all. When you call the front desk most of the time they're not even there so you have to keep calling. When I went to check out no one was at the front desk stood there for 10 minutes before eventually leaving and having to call and check out. Rooms could be cleaned a little better and pillows are really hard. Will not be using this hotel again. AC unit was loud and when I turned on the heat I was hit with a burning smell so my room smelled burnt the entire night. Also heard a constant sound of other rooms near me closing their doors. read more

Let's make this clear: Aloft is by no means the W Hotel, but it is part of the Starwood family. The room's economy size space aligns with the hotel's vision and mission--creating a place for constant travelers--which unfortunately means there is no real closet to hang your clothes. Now, the service and beds make up for the lacking areas. The friendly and accommodating staff gives me a reason to return to Aloft. Pros: - conveniently located outlets - staff and prompt service - taxi and shuttle service - easy bites to grab on the go - beds (I usually have a difficult time falling asleep at Marriott and Hilton because of the uncomfortable beds, but Aloft's are much more comfortable.) read more

One of my favorite hotels, I love the modern era look of this place. Also love the shower; which is my favorite in hotels. I wasn't very fond of the bedding just because it was a little too hard for my comfort, last time I stayed at one the bed was perf. Might have been a brand new bed. Other than that I loved the stay. Aloft by Marriott Las Colinas - Hotels Near Me - Irving, Texas

I love the W hotels (especially Dallas) so I decided to check this place out on the raving reviews from a friend. Our company has an office in Las Colinas I frequent so I've tried a few of the following hotels for comparison. - Hilton Garden Inn (recently added on to, $89-99 which is great pricing). - Omni I believe (overpriced) and outdated but it has been a year or 2 since I was there last. - 4 Seasons (I like their renovated rooms, if I get an old room I ask for a new one) - W Hotel Dallas (1st pick but $$$) - NYLO (If IKEA made a prison room this would be it, very small, concrete floors) - A couple others I can't remember -Sheraton and a Marriott Residence Inn. The W is my favorite but way too pricey, the 4 Seasons is my regular spot with a great corporate rate but now I will be having a hard time choosing between 4 Seasons and aLoft. I love that they have a little box on the desk with hookups for the TV. I often hook my laptop up or a little HD box (WD HDTV) that can play movies I download onto the TV and I hate fishing behind the flat panels for the HDMI inputs (4 Seasons). I love new hotels with these hookups. I personally didn't care for the fruit water downstairs, it was bitter and I took the last cup which wasn't replaced with new ones even hours later. The room is nice, high ceilings, i didn't expect the bed to be where it was but it was a welcome change from usual hotels. The lounge area is nice, there is a tiny pool out there. The ironing board sucks, it's tiny, wobbles and pinched my finger when it didn't stay up. But those minor quibbles are the only things I didn't like. My only issue is I can stay at the 4 Seasons for $5-10 more. I get the Starwood points here so I will be back! read more

Meh....my stay was ok. The hotel appears very modern but the rooms come off cheap. Our comforter was washed and dried so it was lumpy when we walked it. It looked like someone was in our bed. The room wasn't very dark at night. I had to face the clock against the wall because that was crazy bright. The bathroom was very small. I hated how the shower and toilet were in this small closet type room. The sliding door was annoying and the glass facing the room in the shower was the worst. I experienced those in Spain this year and I hated them. If the window gets wet and the lighting is right you can see through it. I really was not a fan of this hotel. I wouldn't stay here again only because I could get a better room elsewhere for less money. read more
