The staff are friendly and it's a good location. Checking in is slow bc computer system has issues x3 stays. Bed is comfortable for sure. The room and hotel are very clean! I have stayed at Aloft Westerville for the past 7+ years on a monthly basis. The property has degraded slowly. NOW, the front desk personnel is unfriendly, the rooms are disgusting and the last stay has BEDBUGS. I have attached the pics of this terrible location. Listed as 2-star - but - the public areas and our room were both VERY clean and that matters most to me! The decor is modern and fun - we enjoyed the pool and played pool as a family. The bar was closed but the UFC fight was on the tv and there's a giant fireplace - nice ambiance. Also pet friendly. The negatives: 1. The light switches. If you get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom - it lights the entire room up. 2. Must be heavy sleepers. Hip hotel with exceptional staff. Front desk staff goes out of their way to help without being overbearing. The rooms are modern and very clean. It took me a moment to find the ironing board in my room. I was looking around in the closet and didn't see the sticker right away that directed me to a small build in closet next to my bed. I went to work with a wrinkly shirt the first day because I assumed that the hotel does not have iron boards in the room. I wish they sticker would have been bigger or placed in another more visible location. Met the cleaning lady on the hall way this morning- super friendly. Hotel is pet friendly, close to restaurants, freeway, shopping and historic downtown Westerville. I stayed at this hotel while being on a work trip and will definitely stay here again. read more

I'm loving this swanky new hotel! The location is optimal. The staff are incredibly professional and friendly. They are eager to help without being overbearing. The rooms have a nice fengshui. I want whoever decorated to decorate my apartment, it's so cute! It's also pristine. The beds are on the harder side, which is better for some people than others. There's a little desk/eating area and a fridge. If you need a microwave, the front desk people can do that for you. There's a cute, heated pool and workout area that you scan into that's generally empty but open for use. There are also dog treats, games, a bar, and breakfast in the lobby. The breakfast ordering system is strange and the options are limited but inventive. read more

I discovered and was blown away by the Aloft hotel brand in Louisville, Kentucky. It's true, first impressions are lasting impressions. That memorable 5 star hotel visit is what brought me to the newly built Westerville location. The comfortable and trendy rooms are not what my review is about. Aloft is responsible for making one of my most important days a last memory. Robin Collins, Director of Sales (extraordinaire-IMO) was beyond helpful in making my culinary school graduation reception a memorable celebration. Aloft has two conference/event rooms available. They are conveniently located on the first floor, close to the lobby, restrooms, bar and patio. They are handicap (wheelchair) accessible. I rented the larger of the two. From the very first phone call, Robin made my event feel like it was her top priority. I already knew the hotel amenities - ample parking, convenient location, luxurious lobby, and professional staff would make this a perfect location for a graduation reception. The room is a perfect size for a small event. I believe the room capacity was around 50. The extra large window view overlooks the patio/bar area. The large flat screen, permanent white board, speaker system, and ample outlets are perfect for any type of use. Round and square tables along with linens are provided. The room deposit is comparable to surrounding hotel venues. The advantage is that you can use your own caterer. Leading up to, and the day of the event I received professional service from Robin, the hotel Chef, and all staff that were present. Along with receiving a discounted rate on a block of rooms, all staff truly went above and beyond! Additional, thoughtful service was provided that usually isn't, for example - adjusting the bartender's hours to accommodate my party, providing table centerpieces at no charge, setting up my buffet tables, even washing some of my dishes and loading them in my car! You can't beat attentive customer service like this! So along with recommending the hotel for a staycation or a get away, I'd also strongly recommend considering their event space for your personal use. The caring and professionalism of the Aloft staff is a guarantee for a successful event. read more

I was invited to Marlena L's graduation celebration, here, at Aloft; thus, I can only comment on the lobby and first floor layout, amenities and customer service. As you walk inside the front lobby, it's a cozy atmosphere. Bright accenting colors to play off the light grays and whites. A good number of windows. Plenty of sitting options in the direct areas. Nice touch to have the pool table out in the open - very welcoming. The lobby bar is smaller which lends to the intimacy. The gal manning the front of house was polite and had a welcoming smile when I walked in. She happily directed me. Marlena had reserved one of their special events/meeting room. The almost floor-to-ceiling windows looked out into a nice patio area. That particular room housed six 8-top tables, with good space to still move around and chat. A great place for the intimate family and friends gathering. Two thumbs up for the welcoming flow of the lobby area. read more

Aloft is my new favorite hotel to stay at. Sleek, modern, clean, pet friendly, and reasonably priced. During our road trip, we stopped here for the night and were not disappointed. There was a party atmosphere at the bar by the lobby, but it was quite down the hall by our room. The room itself was modern and spread out, not cramped and stuffy. My only suggestion is to have more garbages on property for doggy deposits. read more

We go out of our way to stay at Aloft hotels because of our consistent good experiences with the brand. This one features rooms identical to the other hotels, with the same amazing pillows and soft beds. Dogs under 40 lbs stay free with no deposit! The staff is super friendly and the rooms have always been clean. There is free on-site parking in the private lot. We stayed here twice on our way coming and going from Michigan to Virginia and will really look forward to our next stay also! read more

When I booked my reservation I booked a king room that is not handicap access. I received a handicap room. When I booked my room, I also requested a total of three sets of towels. Usually I think that is standard but I do not think in this case. When I receive my room I had literally one towel and one hand towel, that is all. When I called down to ask for more the lady asked me when I can come down to get them. Isn't that something that they should be bringing up to me? read more

I stayed at the Aloft Columbus Westerville from May 1st to May 6th for my counseling residency as I am working towards my master's degree. I did need more toilet paper the morning of the 2nd because I only had 1, I would be there for 5 days, and I just wanted to be prepared. I asked politely and let them know I would be gone for the rest of the day, so no rush. When I returned, I saw that they performed housekeeping and restocked my room but removed the one partially used roll of toilet paper that I had and there were not any replacements. I didn't want to deal with their passive aggressive childishness and so I kept the do not disturb sign on my door and asked for supplies myself as needed. They were always nice to my face but the staff is incredibly two-faced and passive aggressive. Since I left, they added a $30 charge to my card for God knows what and I really don't want to call them and ask what for because I would pay not to deal with those passive aggressive humans ever again. I kept everything clean and even picked up before I left. If you stay here, please only have it be for one night so everything you need will be there and there will be little opportunity for their childishness. read more

I worked here. It's awful. The managers are a joke and unorganized which makes it very hard to do your job. I was bullied and harassed by a TONY HARRIS!!! He's a RACIST!!!! I told management I was experiencing racism and she did NOTHING about it. She didn't even ask what was said. She completely ignored the matter. Tony made fun of me (on top of his racist comment) and gave me unfriendly nick names. He also parks in a handicap spot (why he has a handicap sign I'll never know) he spends all day walking around that hotel perfectly fine and he claims to be a "personal trainer" Why is taking up a handicap spot that a potential customer could be using because they actually NEED it? He also made a comment one day about how he's not used to having such organized employees work here (a new guy started which was apparently "organized") he made the racist comment about the Spanish speaking employees. One day, I asked for paper towels, hand soap, and the key to the wipe dispenser in the gym. Finally, when my shift was about over, the operation manager (Elizabeth), hands me like 20 crumbled up paper towels and says "we are improvising today" I never did get the key for the wipe dispenser or the hand soap for the ladies restroom. I would get the stuff myself, if the place was organized, but it's not. Its just boxes of stuff everywhere. On my second to last day, Tony comes up to be bossing me around, his hands are flying around everything and he's CUSSING at me in my FACE. He's just the front desk guy and I cleaned the lobby. He's a NO BODY!!!! I told my manager about it and again, she did NOTHING!! My grandma is dying in the hospital. I needed ONE Sunday off, to spend it with her, possibly her LAST DAY ALIVE!!!! The operations manager said I needed a "visitor note" from the hospital which she at first called a "work excuse". I haven't heard of that before. "visitor work excuse" ???? I called the hospital to see if I could get one, the lady at the information desk, LAUGHED and said my manager was mistaken. They don't hand out notes for visitor's employers. I told my manager that. I then told her I was at urgent care anyway because I have a headache and massive anxiety (clearly, my grandma is dying), so I will just get a work excuse there before heading back to the hospital and turn it in when I return to work on my next scheduled day to work. She FIRED ME VIA TEXT because she claims she called the hospital and they said they do hand out such notes. I called Ohio Health's main office (which is who runs the hospital), the lady that called me back said she hasn't heard of "visitor notes" either but she will research it and get back to me. The manager then texted me and said she put me on "TRESPASSING STATUS" because I have the hotel property (keys) so I'm banned at staying at Aloft locations from this point on. She didn't even give me a chance to return the keys or I would happily do so!!!! She didn't give me a chance to retrieve MY PROPERTY that's on the hotel property either. So, if you do decide to work here, don't leave anything in the lockers because if you get fired, whatever you have there, now belongs to the hotel. I suggest anyone that possibly thinks about working here, RUNS AWAY!!! It's a hot mess. The managers aren't on the same page, so it's a mess. I (and a few others) believe Elizabeth, the operations manager, is on some kind of drug. I don't know if it's prescribed or what, but she has been OUT OF IT lately. She sends text messages that don't make sense. She tells you to do one thing then turns around and says to do it another way. No one can keep track of which rooms are ready and which ones aren't. Which rooms are stay overs which ones are vacant. One day the housekeeping manager and I got yelled at because people knocked on this woman's door FOUR TIMES for housekeeping which this time, we knocked first (thank God we did) because the housekeeping manager was under the impression it was vacant but apparently, it was a stay over. read more

This stay wasn't the worst I've had but it certainly could have been a lot better. We didn't get to partake, but the hotel lobby has a really nice bar and lounge that we wish we got to check out. The rooms are very unique and cozy and I really enjoyed the modern feel of it all. Wasn't crazy about the bathroom, which didn't have a locking door, a light switch inside, or a fan that could be turned on. Like others I noticed mold in the bottom of the shower. Also the refrigerator in the room was pitiful and kept items just slightly above room temperature. Also found the cleaning staff missed an empty beer can stuffed behind the fridge. The pillows were pretty uncomfortable and I woke up with a rather stiff neck. No complimentary breakfast. At 9:30am while getting dressed, housekeeping attempted to enter my room. Staying at Aloft Westerville was very much a mixed bag. The accommodations are nice and modern, and the front desk staff is very friendly and attentive, as they were very quick to fix an issue with a sagging mattress in my room. However, they're very much suffering from staffing shortages, which is very apparent in their inability to deliver on their promised amenities. Currently, the WXYZ bar isn't open, breakfast is only available for purchase 3 days a week, and daily housekeeping is not guaranteed, despite all of these features being mentioned on their website. Beware that you will not be getting everything as advertised if you book here. I definitely understand the pandemic's effect on business, but much more transparency would've been appreciated in advance of my stay. read more

This was my backup hotel for when I was on a business trip in New Albany. The check-in was a little chaotic in the evening with multiple people checking-in and others asking questions. They could have used a second person at that time. Maybe overlapped two employees schedules to accommodate the busy time? The hotel room is on the small side. But, it's just right for one person needing a place to stay for a night or two. They use a blue lemon bar soap that I love. But, the shampoo and conditioner are in a pump container in the shower. There is one restaurant next door. Otherwise, you have to cross a super busy road to go to a Bob Evans or a Rapid Fire pizza. I drove up the road to City Barbecue for dinner. The driveway entrance is very precarious. Be careful when you pull in. There's on-site parking outside of the building. read more

Traveling cross country, I found a $104/nt price on Trivago & Hotels .com for a Fri night & front desk staff honored it, including a AAA discount, which was very nice. Normal price on weekends is $160, so I got a great deal. Lovely, newer hotel. It's a German hotel in the Marriott brand & a bit different in how it looks & works. Pros: * Nice, safe, upscale location. I'm guessing Westerview is a wealthy Columbus suburb. Lovely staff, too. * Clean, amazingly quiet & the softest, most supportive, comfy, pillowtop mattress you'll ever sleep on. 5-6 pillows on the bed & a nice plush comforter in-between 2 sheets... I love that setup, warm but light. * TV is enormous & mounted directly in front of the bed, but not too high on the wall (Motel 6, I'm looking at you), so you strain your neck trying to watch TWC & not too low (like the table bound sets at other budget motels), so you have to uncomfortably tilt your noggin down for some ESPN action. 2 SHO channels, but no HBO. * Aesthetically pleasing throughout... minimal, functional, clear/clean design, like Scandinavian hotels. It's also built with tranquility in mind... floor to ceiling windows with pull-up, blackout shades, but, when in bed, you can't be seen from outside (2nd floor & up), meaning... I was able to sleep with the shades up so I could watch the night sky & wake up naturally to sunlight. (Please note: If in front of the window, everyone outside can clearly see inside... I noticed this when housekeeping was cleaning rooms.) The ledge in front of the windows is covered in neutrally colored stones... very peaceful. Even the walls are gray & gray-ish off-white... not the harsh orange/red walls in other places... I like tranquility not feeling jolted every time I glace sideways. * Walk-in shower with thick glass door. Shampoo/cond/bodywash dispensers mounted on the back wall. All doors slide, so you don't lose room space. * Wall length desks are placed right in front of the windows, so you don't feel trapped in your room. So relaxing. * Plenty of lighting, focus on soft... not as in low wattage, just that preventative eye strain was kept in mind. Screaming fast, reliable WiFi. * There's 2/47 pod coffee (Keurig style) in the lobby. Unsure if they have hot water for tea/cocoa as I didn't indulge. I don't know if you pay for it... there seem to be little add-ons the front desk doesn't make clear are for additional cost... like the b'kfast. I was invited to order it, then when asked further as I didn't understand, she mentioned the cost can be added to my room fees (see below). Given that, the bottle of water in my room was left unopened cuz I wasn't sure if there were a charge... I've experienced that in several upscale hotels. It can add a lot of revenue to a hotel x 200 rooms/day. Cons: * Cost at many of Aloft's hotels is in the $160 range, so I always bypass them... but this was such a nice visit, they just might have won me over. I usually opt for budget hotels, but feel my nerves are jostled & jolted when I leave in the morning, given the thin walls & dicey clientele. None of that here. * They've got an odd breakfast policy. For $7-8, you visit the front desk, order your food on a special computer for the following day, then return to the lobby to p/u in the AM. You can also call in your order. Having to p/u makes it unpalatable... I don't want to get showered & dressed to get my $8 bagel nor troll the hallways in my Hello Kitty jammies & matching sleep mask. * Very small dorm fridge... like a large breadbox, so be careful on what you buy before checking in... can't fit much. Also, there's no m/w, which was surprising. However, there is a small coffee pot & 2 teabags. * The parking spaces closest to the doors are for econo-low mileage cars... I think it means electric, but I'm not sure (there are no Tesla stations), so I had to park 10 spots away cuz I wasn't sure if my 4-cylendar qualified? Good to know: * The TV is odd & apparently the front desk gets calls all the time on how to use it. Given that, they gave me completely wrong instructions (maintenance said that's normal) & I had to have maintenance visit to show me how to turn on the TV, which took 40-min & 2 phone calls. He made it so complex with over-explanation about all things unrelated, that I'll give you the skinny, but... they should have a room print out to cut down on calls/visits. ** Press top right button (w/red circle), then the channel up button to scroll through the stations. That's it. Menu, Guide, Info buttons, etc don't work... you can only channel up/down. ** Solid 4.5* out of 5. A nice restful hotel. read more

I will say that the room is nice and clean and gets a 5 star. However, the staff seems uninterested in the guest experience . They weren't rude or unfriendly just amiss. The lobby was nice, but empty bar glasses lingered and cluttered the floor. They have a small variety of board games which included Candy Land, chutes and Ladders, Clue, and Battleship. They also had pool and tic tac toe. The bartenders were also uninterested, helpful when needed but were absent when nobody was at the bar. We would stay here again as we weren't really here for the amenities and rarely even go to the lobby bar, but impromptu trips means things we don't normally do. We would stay here again but wouldn't be frequenting the bar as they are expensive and uninterested. read more

Stayed here recently and the hotel is 1 years old. I will say the only thing good about the hotel was the live music and the pool. The rooms were clean with the exception of mold on the lower parts of the shower. Shower smelled like an aquarium and could use a good deep clean. Also, I had to take a 2 min shower because the drain was not working and I didn't want to flood the entire bathroom, super bummed about the shower drama. I would not stay here again. Front desk just said, "O I'm sorry." I will likely never stay at a category 3 again. Marriott brand may be going downhill a bit. At least the rooms were cute right. read more

My husband and I spent our wedding night here and were not disappointed. It is a beautiful hotel. Our room was clean and modern and had every amenity we could need. The breakfast was definitely a step above what you'd expect! Fresh made "breakfast bowls" tons of options for drinks and snacks. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only one suggestion that would have made this a better stay: we would have loved a little something extra because it was our honeymoon, perhaps champagne or strawberries or something like other hotels do. Went to WXYZ for my birthday for HH, l drinks at priced as expected. Bartender was not very friendly or cheerful. Good menu was ok. Environment is super cute and they have board and table games available to play. Small bar but seating was plenty in surrounding area. The owner was actually there playing a game of pool which was cool. I'd go back for a quick drink but not to chill for more than an hour or so. Happy hour specials change daily of course. Live music was just ok by they have different artist so may want ti check before you go. read more

Stayed here for my husband and my anniversary. We don't get out much so this was something we'd both been looking forward to. I booked through booking.com, the room cost was $159 per night with just under $28 tax. What they don't tell you is at time of check it they will over charge another $25-30 for "incidentals". They claim it will be put back on my card, I will update this with outcome after checkout. Then we get to the room which is nice, no big complaints there but also not a super wow factor. Room was switched on to heat at 74 degrees, not sure if that's normal procedure between room bookings or what. I should also note it's the middle of August so a cool room would've been nice to come into. However, not earth shattering. We go to put our left overs from dinner in the mini fridge, that's just slightly cooler than room temp at best with no temperature control. When we pulled the mini fridge out to locate one, we found a lovely beer can. Still not luck on a temperature control though. So as of this morning I don't think I'll be eating my Japanese. Now it's the morning, in my booking.com booking they show that they offer complimentary continental breakfast. WRONG. I went downstairs and was told only toast and coffee is free. Everything else you have to pay. Such a shame after you've spent over $200 for a room. So I head back up to the room to get dressed with my free coffee, it's about 9:30am now. Room service does 2 knocks and just proceeds to open the door before we can answer "occupied". 15 mins go by and she comes by and knocks again. Sometimes you get a review thats hard to make. This hotel has some issues but over all its an awesome place. The pandemic has really hurt it but the overwhelming attention of the staff makes up for the bad things. Its in a great location, the place is clean as can be. The room, although kinda small, was very comfortable. The beds were awesome. We booked the wine package and the clerk called me on the phone the day of our reservation asking what wine we preferred. On arrival they presented us with a nicely chilled chardonnay and two glasses. We had our dog with us and they welcomed her to the hotel and everyone that worked there made a fuss over her. big plus, no extra charge for pets. We enjoyed the wine, with our dog, in the courtyard. Nice clean area with lots of tables and chairs. They also have a fireplace built into the wall. If you like to play pool, they got it. pool table in the lobby, no charge. Pool area was very nice, they kept it up. They also have meeting rooms and a work out room. now, for the minus's they I didnt rate them on. No breakfast because it was the chefs day off. Bar was closed because they had no bartender. Well, thanks to the pandemic they are short handed and did the best they could. They did have a nice selection of microwavable options and cereals you could purchase. Another issue was the tv. It was directv's version of Uverse. It is an internet dependant service. I am familiar with it because I used to install directv in hotels. since the hotel has a very slow internet it doesn't work well. takes minutes for the tv guide to load. also the free internet wasn't fast enough for me to read the news or research things I was looking for in the area. I have seen this before in my work, the hotels dont want to invest in highspeed. They really should upgrade the system so they have better televison and internet for there guest. I would normally give a 3 star for this hotel but I cant say enough about how welcoming and accommodating the staff was. They have some wonderful people working for them. so if you dont really need to watch tv or depend on the internet you will love this place. Hopefully the staffing issue will get better and they will be able to provide better service. read more

Everyone we passed in the halls wished us a good day & the people at the front desk chatted with us about our travels and even gave my kids some candy. I had a bad experience at this location. We got charged for $18 of bar bill when we never used the dining or the bar area. Called multiple times and the front desk can't do anything. Left messages to the manager twice and never got a call back. I can't understand why managers are hardly at work. How can someone just charge bar bills to our room is beyond me. First glance, the hotel looked very cool, nice, clean. My room was very small, could hear every move, cough, toilet flushing on either side of my room. There is not a breakfast served. Was told that the kitchen is closed sincecovid? Charged for each bagel, juice. The creamers were even curdled at the coffee area and in the rooms. Several overpriced snacks, juices. Only one microwave in the entire hotel. Over priced and forgettable. The worse part was, Holly, the bartender. She has no personality and very rude. Holly can not be bothered with simple questions like, "do you make Irish Coffees?" Rather than merely saying, yes or no she snapped at me and said, "I am with another customer you will have to wait". Customers were complaining that they couldn't get her attention to get a drink or pay for their tabs. 2nd night, the wedding party I was with, about 50 of us, went to the bar. I ordered a drink, finally waiting on her to even notice me. Gave me the drink and said, 'last call is at 11:15. According to the website and posts, the bar hours are until midnight. The bar area inside and out were full. Other's tried to get a drink after 11:15 but, she refused to serve any of us. The bride of our wedding party came in and knew someone at the bar. It was 11:30. Holly served her a drink but snapped us all off in a very rude voice, "I said last call was 11:15". I saw where she was serving drinks to the customers at the bar after 11:15 (which were all men). She never smiles, acknowledges customers and over all the most inhospitable bartender I've ever seen. I did go over the gentleman that was at the front desk and asked him if he could get us a drink. He was very reluctant and told me" that she does her thing and we do our's". The room rate of $160 (including the 17% tax) a night does not reflect the service, accommodations or customer service. I will never stay there or again and certainly won't recommend it to anyone else. read more

Super fun little place. My room (king) was very comfy. Dark and cold when I needed to sleep, warm and bright when I needed to get moving. The lounge came to life on Friday and Saturday with live music, guests having food and drinks, and people playing pool or board games. Two things: the general hallways feel a bit gloomy and oppressive. Not a big deal - we don't spend a lot of time in hotel hallways, do we? The kicker for me was when I ran out of coffee packets in my room. I asked the concierge to send more. To my dismay (the following morning), I discovered they sent only decaf! Nooooooo!!! One of the best hotels in the Columbus area. Free live music on weekends!! Very clean!! Friendly staff!!

The place is gorgeous and it was conveniently located next to the high way. The place was fairly clean and had very personable staff. My only issues with the place were that there was already mold at the bottom of my shower that if it had been properly cleaned with bleach it wouldn't be there. Also I am currently going on a 30 minute wait for hot water....the front desk staff said it was because it's cold out... I'm from Chicago and I've never had to wait 30 minutes for a shower to get hot water. And the staff didn't really offer any apologies. Also, my air/heat unit was extremely loud and I defaulted to just bundling up and turning it off because it kept waking me up the previous night. read more

Great hotel. Very clean, spacious and meets all needs. The room has very modern and aesthetically pleasing decor. If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely remember this hotel! read more

Was excited to stay in a new modern hotel but it turned out to be very cheap. The room was TINY! The biggest disappointment was that our shower had a soap dispenser mounted on the wall and it fell completely off. When we told the front desk they acted like it was no big deal and assured us it would be fixed by the time we got back. 3 hours later they hadn't even been to our room. I was getting ready to go to a wedding and couldn't even shower....front desk employee was not helpful at all and again acted like it was no big deal. We only had a good experience with the gentleman who helped us Saturday night, he was helpful and apologetic. Overall, a bad experience and will not be returning. Wouldn't recommend this hotel based on the room and employees. read more
