Listed as 2-star - but - the public areas and our room were both VERY clean and that matters most to me! The decor is modern and fun - we enjoyed the pool and played pool as a family. The bar was closed but the UFC fight was on the tv and there's a giant fireplace - nice ambiance. Also pet friendly. The negatives: 1. The light switches. If you get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom - it lights the entire room up. 2. Must be heavy sleepers. The heating unit in our room was like a jet engine every time it turned on and off... the hubs got no sleep! (...I didn't hear a thing LMAO)

Hip hotel with exceptional staff. Front desk staff goes out of their way to help without being overbearing. The rooms are modern and very clean. It took me a moment to find the ironing board in my room. I was looking around in the closet and didn't see the sticker right away that directed me to a small build in closet next to my bed. I went to work with a wrinkly shirt the first day because I assumed that the hotel does not have iron boards in the room. I wish they sticker would have been bigger or placed in another more visible location. Met the cleaning lady on the hall way this morning- super friendly. Hotel is pet friendly, close to restaurants, freeway, shopping and historic downtown Westerville. I stayed at this hotel while being on a work trip and will definitely stay here again.

I was invited to Marlena L's graduation celebration, here, at Aloft; thus, I can only comment on the lobby and first floor layout, amenities and customer service. As you walk inside the front lobby, it's a cozy atmosphere. Bright accenting colors to play off the light grays and whites. A good number of windows. Plenty of sitting options in the direct areas. Nice touch to have the pool table out in the open - very welcoming. The lobby bar is smaller which lends to the intimacy. The gal manning the front of house was polite and had a welcoming smile when I walked in. She happily directed me. Marlena had reserved one of their special events/meeting room. The almost floor-to-ceiling windows looked out into a nice patio area. That particular room housed six 8-top tables, with good space to still move around and chat. A great place for the intimate family and friends gathering. Two thumbs up for the welcoming flow of the lobby area.

This hotel is very chic. It's decor is not like your mother's boring, stuffy hotel. This hotel is dog friendly. The staff is very nice and funny. We made jokes with them while we were checking in. The room was clean. The beds are very soft.

Upon leaving our room to attend day #2 of the festival we discovered our SUV had been stolen from the front parking lot. We filed a police report with the Columbus PD and were informed by law enforcement that this hotel parking lot was routinely targeted for vehicle break-ins and property crime. Upon asking the manager to review video surveillance we were told the cameras were monitored by a 3rd party and would be contacted at a later date. I purposely parked my SUV in direct view of what appeared to be a working camera for this very reason. Upon further investigation from law enforcement it was determined the cameras did not work... We were under the impression per the website, the parking lot was under 24/7 video surveillance and had active night security. In the 5 days we stayed we witnessed a security patrol one time and that was only after we had the police there for our stolen vehicle. This hotel is very much aware of the property crime that has taken place on their property in the past and still failed to provide adequate protection for the property of their guest. Several reviews reflect this. We did not feel safe at this hotel at all, vary bad vibes. Stay at your own risk. Terrible experience.

Jarrod at the front desk always had a friendly attitude and greeted us with a smile. The complimentary water and cookies at the front desk were very appreciated. The breakfast was from 6am to 10am seven days a week which was very convenient. They changed up the hot eggs and meat options each day which was also appreciated. I like the Greek yogurt they offered as well as many other different types of yogurt. The dining area has nice tall ceilings and they keep it clean, wiping tables down quickly. The coffee which had both bold and regular flavors was excellent. Complimentary USA Today and Wall Street Journal was also there each day. They offer a nice fitness room and pool. However, I suggest they keep the fitness room open 24 hours instead of closing it. The room TV was a little small but had lots of good variety such as multiple HBO and multiple ESPN channels. There's washer and dryers ($2 each) for you to use which is a nice plus for longer stays. This hotel is in an excellent location near I71 and Polaris Parkway--tons of bar, restaurant, and shopping options nearby.

The guest room was clean and the bed was comfortable which is the most important part in my opinion. The hotel is definitely dated in decor. It still has popcorn ceilings and dated wallpaper throughout. It reminded me of the times I used to go to my grandma's house. The breakfast buffet was fresh and good but also very basic. The scrambled eggs, patty sausage and hard booked eggs were the staple proteins. There was a waffle station, oatmeal pot and a small assortment of toaster breakfast breads for the carbohydrates. Nothing fancy but all available at a proper temperature and easily to serve yourself. They offered sanitizer at the buffet as well as plastic gloves for handling the service ware. All plates and utensils were disposable too.

Late review: Thursday night through Monday morning…read more For what you get in Ohio, this is a high 3 star, low 4 star. The last time I paid for a place to stay in Ohio I got a musty one (tiny) room for the same price and no breakfast to boot! Anyway, different days have different price points, with Sunday being the cheapest. The place is older and the wear is evident in the work table, coffee maker, shower (rusty showerhead!) and gym. The first thing that greeted us when we opened the door was the strong bleach smell. We opened the door and the window to air it out, but it wasn't until the next day, after more airing out, that the smell was replaced by a dank smell. Four pillows to a bed. My mom was so comfortable in her bed, she said it was the best sleep she's had for a long time. Kitchen appliances available are coffeemaker, microwave, and fridge. Fridge can get loud. There are two mirrors besides the one inside the restroom. Hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, facial bar, and body soap provided. Iron and hangers also available. Breakfast goes from 6-10am and provides the traditional breakfast foods: waffles, bagels, toast, cereal, donuts, muffins, yogurt, sausage and eggs. I didn't see any fruits! I suppose that's what the fruit juice is. After breakfast, oatmeal packets are still available, as are hot chocolate and hot water. There is a sign that says you must wear shoes to breakfast, for all the rebels out there. The gym is little, with a weight machine, an elliptical/bike(?), a medicine ball and a treadmill. Running on the treadmill was not the best experience, the thing was so squeaky I couldn't hear my kindle. The weight machine was also very squeaky. The free wifi is a plus! The password changes every so often. A pool is available as well but it was raining so we didn't get to utilize it. So far so good, a 4 star for the price.

My wife and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary on 8/11/20…read more We do a trip every year for our anniversary and this year my wife decided she wanted to visit the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. So I planned a 2-day trip and while doing my research for a place to stay on 8/11, I happened upon The Timbrook Guesthouse. I will keep the review as short as possible because I love brevity but I make no promises. Jill, the owner, is super fantastic and a 10-star host. She puts forth a Brobdingnagian effort to make sure her guests are happy. If you stay at Timbrook, you will not be able to understand how she does it. No human could possibly do all of the things Jill does everyday to keep Timbrook running like a well-oiled machine. I think she may be a robot. Timbrook itself is the kind of house we'd live in forever if we didn't have 10 fleabaggy cats who love to ruin everything and drive us crazy. The house and the property are just amazing in every way. There are a lot of fun things to do in and around Columbus but you won't wanna leave the property. The house itself and our room were incredible. Everything was super clean, comfortable and welcoming, and we loved how it was decorated. And it's so quiet. The house is so quiet. I love quiet. Did I mention it was quiet? We got to meet KoKo, an awesome bird who loves to eat large nuts. Jill fed him as we watched and it was really a treat. We also got to meet Charlie, another awesome bird who can really voice his opinion. There are also a whole bunch of chickens and who doesn't love watching chickens scamper about. BREAKFAST was so many positive adjectives, I couldn't possibly list them all. A fruit cup that was akin to Ambrosia (which, if you don't know, is the food of the gods). And a hot meal that I ate slowly and savored every morsel. My wife is a trained chef, so one can imagine the cuisine i'm used to, and this was just crazy-delicious. Our only disappointment was that we could not stay longer. My wife and I met a very nice older couple at breakfast who said they were staying all week. We were so envious. We both agreed that when we come back to Columbus, we will stay at Timbrook. We got to see Puka the cat if only briefly right before we left. Maybe next time we visit, we can get closer to pet him but he was a little spooked and being cat owners ourselves, we totally understood. Our Teddy hides under the bed whenever people he doesn't know come over our house. His sister, Ruby, hides too. But Puka is gorgeous and count yourself lucky if you get to see him. Our experience was 10 stars. So if you plan on being in the Columbus area, make sure you do not miss this treasure. Tell Jill that Kevin and Carrie sent you!

As soon as we found out, my wife called and was told that it was no problem, that there is a waiting list, and once it is cancelled, we would get a refund. We would be charged a $35 fee, though. Having not yet received a confirmation email, my wife called again, asking about the refund. And she talked to a very rude person who said we were not getting a refund because it included a holiday. Also snapped "it is clearly written in the confirmation" several times and completely ignored the question of someone previously giving us false information. The excuse was "I am a small business and need to survive"... but rings very hollow because there is no doubt it was re-rented, in fact, she is double dipping and making twice the money. Nice little racket, if you ask me. While I did miss the holiday clause in the confirmation (which was made 35 days before the arrival date, so not much time to cancel), the fact that we were told we were getting a refund is a huge problem. If we were told the truth, we would have made arrangements to at least partially attend. And if this is the way they treat customers, I am wondering if I didn't dodge a bullet by not going. Needless to say, I will never patronize this business.

The bar was pretty busy in the evening which is nice, but I was there for an event. The beds were comfy, but the pillows could use some more fluffing inside. You don't need to replace ALL the pillows, but at least 2 good pillows would be great. I like to put my hands between the other 2 pillows. The shower handle was definitely weird. Seeing a knob on a knob was a new one for me. I finally figured it out, but it's not something to play around with at 6a before coffee when it's -5 degrees out. My favorite part was the lounge access at this hotel. They had a coffee machine that had hot, steamy mochas and I think I broke the machine. I went later for an afternoon pick me up one day, and all that was available was tea. I like tea, but I don't want my tea and mochas coming out of the same hole. The lounge also had a decent breakfast and evening snacks too. Plus water, soda pops, and other snacks (chips, granola bars, M&Ms, etc.). It was also a nice place to eat some Uber Eats Donato's Pizza without getting pepperoni grease all over my sheets again. It looks a lot like blood on the white sheets. I'd stay here again if I was doing anything in the NE Columbus area. It was a little out of the way from most things in Columbus, but it IS close to the Quaker Steak and Lube, so that was a plus.
