Many of their locations are pop-ups around the holidays, but this one is going to be a permanent fixture at International Marketplace. It's located on the second story near the Banyan Tree; with big open windows it's hard to miss all the colors inside. Parking is validated for purchases of $10 or more, but it's much easier to get here walking around Waikiki. Their stores sometimes are overpriced, or charge more than similar stores. Despite the visitor heavy area, their prices seemed on par with what I would expect. At the time of this writing, they're having a 40% almost all of the store, which makes prices on some items even cheaper. Check sales on your next visit. They have all kinds of toys: action figures, ships, dolls, higher end collectibles for adults, board games, card games, puzzles, calendars, and cheap odds and ends near the checkout at the back. The clerk was super friendly to talk about the store and still attentive to handle customers. I look forward to dropping in on my walks.

Located inside a small plaza near Ala Moana (Piikoi st.) They share a private parking area with Cho Dangs Honolulu and Nijiya Market. They have a wide variety of items that changes constantly and something new available at the shop. Once you set your eyes on something rare, I recommend buying it instead of waiting because I guarantee you it will not be there the next time you visit. I also advise that the store can get really expensive because these are mostly imported goods from Japan. So spend wisely! Sales and discounts are also provided, but on rare occasions. However, be prepared to pay more than what you'd expect as other reviewers had pointed out - the prices are high for what these items really should cost, which sucks, but I believe there is a reason(s) for this. I purchased a small plush keychain, a tee, a magnet and a sticker and the cost was just over $90 - the cost of the tee surprised me the most as it's $55 and I was expecting this to be more in the $40-$45 range. The store is on the smaller side and even on a weekday afternoon after 3pm, it was packed. It's located at the end of the row of stores, adjacent to the side of the Royal Hawaiian where the Sheraton is. Staff at the store were nice and helpful with any questions that I had. Besides the plushies, they had a great selection of stickers as well as magnets and keychains. For decades, I was aware of how popular Miffy has been in Japan (my cousin in Japan had Miffy items since the 90's), but for the U.S., I feel it has become increasingly popular within the last 2-4 years or so. I'm not sure if it's possibly because the creator, Dick Bruna had passed away in 2017 and since then, licensing and the creation of more Miffy merch and collabs may have become more easier to come out with, at least that's been the speculation. Although I'm generally not a fan at all of Hello Kitty or Sanrio, nor do I particularly like rabbits, there is something about Miffy that does appeal to me more than Sanrio characters - likely the simple design and neutral expression on Miffy and that it came before Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty and its European vibes. Before this, I'd ordered a plush Miffy keychain from the Kira online shop in SF. The keychain ended up being much bigger than expected for me to place on a bag/backpack so I decided that I'd stop by this store during my few days in HI to see if I can find a smaller keychain and maybe a tee as I heard this is currently one of only two Miffy themed stores in the U.S., the other being Miffytown in Kentucky. If you're in Honolulu and are a fan of Miffy, then this is worth checking out.

Unfortunately, my experience didn't align with what's described in some of the positive reviews. When my wife and I entered, there was no greeting, despite the store not being busy. The lady staff member remained on their phone. That alone is something I could easily overlook, since everyone has off moments, but it set the tone for what followed. I spent time browsing and identified a few cards I was interested in, noting that prices were generally above TCGPlayer market values. I fully understand that brick-and-mortar stores can price however they choose, and I'm never expecting exact market matches, but I did ask if a $27 card could be adjusted to $24 to align with TCGPlayer. The response was a firm no, followed by comments such as "you can buy online instead" and "it's only $3 difference." Being told to shop online rubbed me the wrong way, especially considering I had made the effort to visit in person on the very last day of my trip, through rough weather, specifically to support a local store. Really disappointed with this arcade…read more First off, you should know I don't care about gachas, blind boxes, or cards so I only went in to play the crane games. Second, because half the buildings are claw machines and it's call "clawsters," I will be comparing it to other crane game arcades I've been to. Each play is $2 which means $20 only gets you 10 plays or maybe two good gachas. Maybe it's because I'm comparing the prices to the mainland but every crane game arcade I've been to has always been $1 per play. Even the fun claws in Hawaii are $1 except for maybe the ones in D&Bs and Fun Factory. Also, let's not forget those prizes are barely worth $1 so spending $2 to get it and then not getting it on the first try is not worth it. Also DO NOT BE FOOLED. The claws are not easily rigged to help you win. The point of a crane game arcade is to be easy wins so that you can trade up to BIG prizes. If you've never been to one before you should check out @theclawusa in Las Vegas. I spent $40 there, you get extra tokens for spending $40, each play was $1, I reached my goal of 16 plushies and gave the rest of my coins to my friends so they can play. It was worth it! Now I know in Hawaii costs tend to go up but I don't think claw machines should be $2/play when the prizes are not even that good and there's nothing to incentivize you to play more. Lastly, with service. The door was stuck when I tried to open it so I thought it was closed but my husband gave it a push and it opened. But when a friend came through it was a whole different story with their presence. Some items might be pricey compared items you may find at Daiso from Japan. Korea products are well made. I'm not sure when they are closing, but I want to shop one more time before they close. She had gone to Daiso on Piikoi but had heard that they recently opened a location downtown on Hotel Street. So off we went. After finding parking on Bethel Street, we walked a couple blocks mauka and spotted the new store. Terry found a few tea cups but needed more. Next we drove over to the Daiso on Piikoi where Terry had purchased a few cups recently, hoping they had restocked. No such luck. So we drove over to Woori Mart which is a Korean home goods store. Neither Terry nor I had been there before but it has great street frontage visibility on Beretania just past Kalakaua Avenue, so when Terry said she wanted to look there, I knew exactly where it was, despite the strange name. The store has ample parking on the right side of the driveway as you enter the property. IIRC, that warehouse used to house an auto dealership in the glory days of auto sales. Now it houses a Korean version of a mini IKEA. There were no customers in the store when we got there and I had an eerie feeling in the virtually empty store like we would be rushed by zombies from the "Train to Busan". Happy that the zombies were not gnawing on our legs, I still maintained my alertness because the strong vibe continued. We acknowledged, then ignored the two employees as they ignored us, but I still kept them in my peripheral vision while Terry milled around the aisles for her vials. Yups, her cups. And then it happened. The conversation between the two employees became a little agitated and their voices climbed an octave. So I moved around to the side just in time to see one of the employees semi-flail her arms and then take a couple hops like a bunny on its hind legs. I was a little taken aback but not shocked because it looked harmless like she was excising herself from the slightly malevolent spirits of boredom after working there almost all day. But I was not sure because I did not want to look directly into her eyes. It was at that point that I realized my camera had not eaten so having missed recording that moment, I decided to take shots of the interior. As I turned toward the door to compose my shot, two Korean women walked in and turned right to the back of the store where towels, blankets and mattresses were displayed. If anywhere, I thought, that would be where the zombies would be sleeping, waiting to attack. But the eerie feeling was gone. There were no zombies in the store, and very few customers. And soon Woori Mart may be gone as well.
