They consistently made no communication with us, except when they needed their money, got our shirts 7 days after the deadline and it was completely botched! It's been a couple years since I last visited Blank Canvas (and apparently they moved across the street in that time!), but I've had wonderful experiences every time. I have two shirts printed with stock images from their binders. The hot-press transfers have held up beautifully through washing and drying, and the shirts themselves have kept their shape with minimal pilling. I chose a shirt, picked an image from hundreds, and even had a little control in where exactly on the shirt the image was placed - the staff that worked with me were knowledgeable about what would look good with a large image on a v-neck. Very pleased with my purchases. More recently, however, I wanted a shirt for my 5yo for his upcoming birthday party. I couldn't find anything that was right on etsy. I checked a couple websites that do no-minimum screen printing, and YOWZA were they spendy! Then, as I was pulling one of my own Blank Canvas shirts out of the closet, it dawned on me - duh, they do custom one-off printing, too! Fired off a quick email to them, and within a week, my shirt was ready for pickup - and didn't cost a gazillion dollars, either. A youth size cotton t-shirt with single-color image was $18+tax. Not bad at all! The staff I corresponded with (Holden) was super friendly and helpful. I provided him the image I designed in Photoshop, gave him a swatch of color I wanted printed, and was flexible on shirt color. They could make any of my options happen, in a youth size. Pickup took all of about three minutes - so easy. Parking is tough, but I recommend the inexpensive Chinatown Municipal Garages on Bethel past Hotel or Smith/Beretania. They have binders of designs available for you to choose from as well as welcome designs that you create on your own. The service here is great! My family and I had a trip planned to Disney World/ Universal Studios. Being the genius procrastinator that I am, I decided it would be great for my family to rock matching shirts on our vacation. I emailed Blank Canvas to inquire about the process. Within a day, Caleb of Blank Canvas emailed back to assist me through the process. He answered all of my questions (there was a lot!) all in a timely and professional manner. He explained how the process would work and broke down prices for me including offering me to bring in my own shirts. You can get blank shirts in a variety of colors to match them kicks, or you can choose from a variety of designs and lettering to create custom apparel that expresses you in your own unique way, without saying a word. The first time I did this I made two shirts, a marvel comics shirt and a cassette tape design. Say what you want about my new threads but to sum up the looks I got on the street in one word... Actually came here by mistake. Accompanying my friend on his Mojo Barbershop experience after growing his beard for a month during The Manifest's "Man Challenge" raising funds/awareness for testicular cancer, I had time to kill in the area and easily spent it all here. I heard about Blank Canvas, but it kept escaping my mind. So glad I finally took the right turn here. Shop is cool with an array of American Apparel and Alternative Earth blank t-shirts you can buy by itself or with a design of choice (+$10) via their extensive template binders. The hardest part was making a decision and it proved a lengthy process for me. I ended up purchasing a stellar v-neck for myself and an Elmo shirt as a X-mas gift for my niece, complete with her name customized on it. The Elmo shirt proved to be a challenge as the design I chose ended up being defective after staff tried transferring the image twice! I just felt bad that two beautiful purple shirts (my niece's favorite color) got trashed. They made great lemonade out of this unfortunate occurrence and provided me with acceptable alternatives that ended up nicely. They even came to JJ Dolan's notifying me that my shirt was finally ready. I wasn't in any rush, as it gave me the luxury of having a beer while I waited. I went to a couple other printing shops and they were pretty limited with what they could do. If your worrying on price like I did, You can pay when you pick up. Its also priced by pieces (we has 5 different pieces we wanted on the shirt) and the shirts are provided for and relatively in the $24 range. You could also bring in your own t shirt as well. They go up to 6x in shirts and 3x in long sleeve if i'm not mistakened. The layout of the store is also pretty hip and clean. It's what attracted me to come and check out. You won't be dissapointed. Dosen't hurt to go in early to work out your ideas with them like how we did. read more
