We've been coming to aloha affordable for quite some time now. This is long over due. My dogs get great care here. One of my dogs gets her cropping injection every few months here because she gets seasonal allergies. My other dog has seizures and his care has been phenomenal. Recently Dr. Z suggested that we give him a low fat diet that she prescribed as he seems to have PLE. After only a few days on this new diet, my boys energy has gone up, he can run up the stairs again. I can't thank dr z enough. Took off one star just because it takes a while to get inside even with an appointment. But we will take it as they have been great for my dogs. read more

All the positive reviews on here are 100% true. I've been looking for a new vet clinic since we've moved farther from my dog's old clinic. I'm extremely picky when it comes to find a doctor for my dog since she's a daughter to me. She's been having really bad allergies and I needed to schedule an appointment asap. Their earliest appt wasn't until the week after but it was ok. For a busy clinic, you would expect longer appointment times. My dog is extremely energetic when seeing other dogs, so we checked in & requested if we could wait in the car until it was her turn to be seen. We came a little early for our appointment and were seen about 5 min before our scheduled appointment time. They quickly took her weight in the waiting room and sent us in our own private room. Dr. Z was very informative and answered all our questions. She had a sincere connection with our dog and she gave us multiple options with treatment. She was very genuine and loves what she does. She wasn't trying to "upsell" us or anything but gave us affordable options to try first before jumping into more expensive treatments. The staff and everyone there was so friendly and my dog felt really safe and happy to be there. This is way overdue. I really recommend this vet if you don't have insurance. Pro tip, I think all of the insurance companies are quite shady and will find a way to not pay out as I've tried a number of them. Dr Chiara Zunino is an absolute gem. She sat on the floor with me and played with my puppy while answering all of my questions. She showed off my puppy to all the other staff members and was so kind, sweet and gentle. My puppy eventually fell asleep in her lap and she never made me feel rushed or that she wanted to move on. She discussed with me diseases, flea medication, spaying, food, behavior, potty training, everything. Dr Z relieved so much stress and anxiety. She became a friend to me for that short 30 minutes I've spent with her as I felt I could ask her anything. I was happy and even shared an architect recommendation to her . (Our house was recently renovated and I had asked her about letting my puppy out in our yard as I was so scared of parvo) For that, doing a micro chip and flea medication was about $110 (I can't remember exact amount). Super reasonable. I've gone for vaccines and other services and they are really wonderful with what they charge. You will never feel ripped off. I did meet with other vets and techs, all of them are sweet with a great bedside manner. They make themselves available to spend time to answer your questions and concerns. This is the absolute best thing about this vet and why I chose for all of my 3 dogs to be seen here. Downside is that they are super busy. I had to take my puppy elsewhere for a same day urgent appointment as they were booked out for 2 whole weeks. You can call right at 8 if they can squeeze you in but I called later than that as my puppy didn't get an allergy until around 12. Also I had requested Dr Z many times to see us but she is very booked. They also are closed on weekends which is hard if your pet needs continual care. I would recommend having a back up vet to go to and use Aloha affordable as your primary. I go to Manoa Veterinary as a back up, they are definitely more expensive but not outrageous, they are fair with good vets. Really wish Aloha Affordable would be open on at least a Saturday in case you have an emergency or inflexible hours. Still, I really like it and recommend them based on their skilled vets and pricing. No regrets! read more

In Dec. Of 2025, I took my cat Kili in for evaluation. She had abcessed teeth & was in so much pain she had stopped eating. I had taken her to another clinic before Aloha Affordabl vet. They quoted a $3,500-$4,000.00 estimate. That was unaffordable as I had already paid them $1,300.00 for an ultrasound & other services. Dr. Z & the staff @ Aloha Affordable Vet were wonderful & quickly offered their services @ an affordable price!!! As they were booked till the 22nd, they checked w/their sister clinic, North Shore Vet Clinic. They were able to do the teeth extractions on Monday. This was a Friday when I took her in. VCA would have charged me over $500 when I brought my dog in for a superficial scratch on his eyelid, but Aloha was able to help us out with the meds and quick diagnostic. Aloha was able to figure out that my cat had asthma, where VCA wanted to charge me thousands to keep running tests... Aloha even told me where I can get her meds cheaper. They really make it easy to get care for your animals. I bring all 5 of my animals here and I've recommended them to numerous people I've spoken to with pets. When I made my appointment, no one explained that I needed to wait outside to be called. When I walked in, the first thing the receptionist said was, "We don't know your dog, so I'm going to need you to wait outside and call to check in." That was my first impression of the clinic, and it was not good. Other than the front desk staff, the waiting area was empty, so their snappy attitude was completely unnecessary. The vet herself was amazing, very knowledgeable and kind, but the rest of the staff were rude and unhelpful. They prescribed eye drops for my dog to use 3-4x/day for a week. When I got home, I opened the box and realized the bottle was less than ¼ full. I knew it wouldn't last the full week, so I called to explain the issue. I was told to come back the next day for a new vial. The second vial was full, and had I received that amount the first time, I would've had more than enough for my dog. They charged me $70 for the new vial. When I asked why, since I hadn't received the full amount the first time, the staff insisted every vial contains the same amount. I even showed a picture of the first vial and explained that I wouldn't have driven from Kaneohe to Aiea if I had received enough initially. She insisted that once the frozen vial turned to liquid, the volume would be much less, which turned out to be untrue. I paid the $70 because my dog needed the drops urgently, but the situation was extremely frustrating. In the end, I basically paid $140 for 1¼ bottles of eye drops. I ended up switching to Pet Vet for my dog's surgery. Even though they quoted a few hundred dollars more, I chose them because they're kind, transparent, and ethical from the start. I was sent here by a friend as an affordable option plus great vets. I was there with my new mom dog, unintentional pregnancy since my female went into heat earlier and was not aware of the situation. Once I saw she was in heat I separated the dogs. Well she got pregnant, gave birth, first and only pregnancy. My male will be neutered in the next few weeks. I noticed distress in my female but unfortunately I had limited budget and I was referred here since they have affordable prices. I went there, initially they quoted me $95 for visit plus additional tests which was ok. I got there they increased the office visit to $125 and later I paid over $130 plus xray $200. They didn't even check her temperature, if she passed the placenta, etc. No antibiotics given for her enlarged uterus, they told me "if she gets infection come and we will spay her at the same time" there was a reason she was not spayed , she would open her stitches, she is unable to keep a cone on, she is very anxious dog. I have experience with her from the past. Not only that they wanted to charge me additionally for blood work that would tell them if her calcium is normal or not. I can give her calcium supplements without paying $100 for Blood work. No support, no advice and almost $400 no real exam. They don't care about the animals, the only thing they care about is money. Don't go there if you care about your pup or any other animal. I wouldn't go there even if they offer me services for free. At the end of all my experience I was told by the vet "well you not gonna sleep for a very long time" when I voiced my concerns about my dog stepping all over the puppy's and laying on them. We lost one already. I tried to get an advice what should I do to keep them safe. Useless advice, useless veterinary service. Shame that they call themselves vets. Today, I will have to take Sandy to another vet since it seems she is doing worse. They took my money without providing appropriate veterinary service, that place is a scam, butchers. read more

Could not recommend enough!! Our baby girl had an accident early in the morning and unfortunately ending up breaking her leg. We were able to get a same day appointment within two hours from that first phone call. From call to the office, the staff, techs and doctor were all very helpful and friendly. I called multiple places to see who could get my sweet cow girl in and if they could quote me. A lot of places were unable to fit us in and did not accept walk ins even for an emergency we were told that she needed an appointment. Although we did need an appointment here, it was fairly soon from the time we called. And their prices were unbeatable. We were also given the option to do vaccines or additional testing if we wanted to, nothing was a surprise when we got our invoice. There were no hidden fees or things that we did not consent to. Scheduled an appointment over the phone for my two dogs. Went to the appointment on time and we weren't allowed into the clinic due to COVID policies. Even though we were on time, it took staff approximately 30 minutes to see us. We waited in the car while they examined my dogs. After examining my dogs it took another 45 minutes for the vet to call us with results, recommendations, and other updates on the them. The entire visit was inexpensive, paying less than 150 for the care and wellness exam of two dogs. We were prescribed a medicated shampoo. The clinic said they'd call us when it was ready. We never got a call. When I followed up with the clinic after waiting two weeks, they said they didn't have the prescription on their end. They had no idea what I was talking about. It was a bust. So many great reviews and my personal experience wasn't that great. Havn't been back since. read more

My family and I have taken in my daughter's older dog as she had to move and was unable to take him with her. It has been a really long time since really taking care of a dog. He is a large and very strong excited dog so I have trouble handling him at times. Aside from that he is a cuddly lovable dog. I just moved back home into my parent's. Our family dog was struggling with a flea and skin problem. We were first time vet go-ers as my parents are more on the old fashioned side making any attempt they can to stick to home remedies. Our shih-tzu would relentlessly stop itching and his skin was flaky, dry and red. We booked Aloha Affordable on a whim to give the vet a shot-- I was pleasantly surprised with how satisfied we left. The staff made us feel right at home and genuinely cared for my pet and I. We were skeptical of course, being that we've never seen a veterinary but they didn't miss a beat. Mariah checked us in and I explained our situation. Dr. Brittany came in shortly after and assessed. They recommended what would be best for my dog and thoroughly explained an improvement plan for getting him back on track. After everything was done we got an invoice for the visit and it detailed the care and products we were leaving with that day. Overall I felt as though our visit was personable, non-judgmental and transparent. If you're like me/my family and are struggling with an issue with your pet and don't usually go to the vet, I would highly reccomend this establishment. They set us up with everything our pet needed to be cared for. It seems to get pretty busy here so I would definitely call in advance and inquire for the service you need. I was very impressed with my first ever visit here . Given the urgent circumstances my dog needed care same day and they fit me in(ended up testing positive for parvo) . I'm not sure the vet I spoke to but she was pregnant (sorry if this offends anyone including the lady) and was super friendly and the best I could've asked for ! I really appreciate the help and urgency they showed my fur baby. Will keep returning for follow up and routine check ins. I'm grateful and couldn't have asked for a more better vet encounter. Price is affordable although was not my main concern, was still grateful for it. I informed the Dr that we were planning to breed her, so having her spayed isn't an option. Dr replied with "it's our policy to spay or neuter ever cat and dog we treet."... we left when she refused to treat our dog who has a serious medical issue. So thats why i am writing this. The Dr is more interested in sterilizing your pet, than treating it. Even a serious potentially life threatening problem. Under no circumstances would I allow my family member to be sterilized because of someone's self righteous belief that they're the arbiter of who will be allowed to breed their dog and who will not. They prioritize profits over your pet, and you. I've been to this vet since I've first got my dog, got her first shots, dewormer, etc. I just needed a signature from my vet for breed and temperament assessment so i can have her in the apartment. Our doctor has seen, interacted, vaccinated, weighed, and treated my dog. However, since I had called to just get a signature for that, I've been told I needed to get more vaccines/shots to continue. The form requires no medical history. I told them this but to no avail. They kept pushing and pressuring to book an appointment to finish all their shots. Even telling me the doctors here cannot perform a simple temperment test, saying I need to see a behavioral specialist that they will refer to me "if" they can find one.... They call me 30 minutes later telling me they found one and can refer us, BUT! Just so happens if we want to meet with them. My dog has to have all the shots they were pushing on us. And that they can start scheduling the shots.. they sent me an email with my dogs medical history, with no info on their "behavioral specialist". Not to mention the multiple days of calling them to tell me they will call me "tomorrow" and "The doctors not in". You get the point. This tells me if 'I'm not booking an appointment that they will profit from, they not gonna help.' Overall a disappointment, unfortunately. Very professional and kind vets and staff. My 10 year old Am staff and I have been to serveral vets on Oahu and have had a mix plate of experiences. That morning we showed up with an emergency and they wasted no time getting him in. When the Vet spoke with me about going forward she explained to me all of our options. I am so grateful that she worked with me to find an affordable treatment and in my opinion saved his life. I will always bring my boy to AAV because I know that they care about people and their pets and are not all about making a high profit. Also they are very good with the larger breeds.
