Took the short walk from the hotel to acquire a bottle of coke, and stumbled upon a group of Volkswagen enthusiasts displaying their vehicles under the Hawaiian night sky for others to enjoy. Aloha Petroleum gas station was hosting the group, their customer service inside the store was great! By the way...EVEN Hawaii gasoline is like $2 a gallon cheaper than California! AP saved us a lot of times. Since Costco gas ain't that close to us, sometimes we are force to fill up the gas tank somewhere else. And yes, AP on the rescue. Self service is real. I don't mind. No need to deal annoying staff or whatever. And if you are within Waikiki, it's the easiest spot to get gas too. Did I mention that their fried chicken is pretty dope? Wow, I can eat those while pumping. LoL. Stop by at their mini mart & you'll see what I mean. Make sure to sanitize your hand before landing your hand to the fried chicken. A typical convenient store that has most of everything you need. From munching something to personal needs. Customer service is pretty good though. Can't be picky when it is really the only gas station in Waikiki, but I come here for the pizza. There is no chicken here. There are just old photos that have not been taken down yet. New- located inside Aloha Gas Station. They used to have a fried chicken place there. I walked in with my dog and placed my order. I waited outside 15 minutes before it was ready. The woman running the place was very nice. I will definitely stop by again next time I want fast pizza. read more

This review is strictly for their fried chicken. I never knew that Aloha Petroleum sold fried chicken. Not all of their locations do, but they have it here at their Waikiki location. I was reading Paul C.'s review and thought I'd come and try it out. I got here and Jeana P. was working. She's a fellow Yelper and was more than happy to help. She works the fried chicken station, which is located at the back. I got the mixed bag of chicken, 10 pieces for $15. The chicken was crispy and juicy on the inside. This is what they call their broasted chicken. It's chicken that's fried in a pressure cooker. I was watching a documentary on KFC and the founder was the one that came up with this idea. The batch of chicken that I received was a little on the salty side and the chicken pieces were on the smaller side. The chicken comes with dipping sauces of your choice. I chose the honey mustard and sweet & sour. I didn't really like the sauces, so I just went with basic ketchup and it was perfect. I just need ketchup with my fried chicken. read more

***REVIEW BASED ON THEIR FRIED CHICKEN*** So, I've been hearing so much about this fried chicken that's cooked at one of the locations of Aloha Petroleum (AP), a gas station. Say whaaaaaat? Chicken being cooked at AP? Yep. I then went on resourceful Yelp and read a handful of reviews, where I found some amusing. I had some good laughs from reading them. But then, I do like to eat fried chicken so I was on a mission to try this place. Today, I finally tried them. But it was my second attempt though. You see, last night I had dinner with friends in Waikiki. I was able to convince them to change venue for dessert, rather than eating it at the same restaurant. I must have good convincing skills because I also mentioned this location of AP's fried chicken and the next thing I know, ALL followed me over by foot. As I walked in shortly after 8pm and made my way to the back, lo and behold I find Jeana P., an Elite Yeep, working behind the chicken counter. She burst our bubble by advising us the pressure cooker fryer is shut off at 7pm and were pretty much sold out, with the exception of a few sad looking chicken wings. They were so tiny and clearly sitting there as the residual of the day. I was told to come back again but be aware of the price increase effective 10/9/2019. Earlier today at work I mentioned my disappointed visit to AP last night and my plan on going today after my meeting. With convenient customer parking, I would drive over to give this fried chicken a try. The next thing I know I'm taking lunch orders. I'll concur to the fact that as you enter this AP's convenience store, you do indeed immediately notice there's fried chicken. Yes, the smell is that strong. To my delight, I walked to the display case filled with fried chicken (wings, thighs, drumsticks and breasts) and no line. ***HAPPY DANCE*** This time there was a different staff and I was stunned when she mentioned "Didn't you come here last night?" Yes, she remembered me walking away disappointed with no fried chicken. I placed my order and was asked which sauce for my chicken and whether or not I wanted furikake (seasoned seaweed topping) on the rice for the chicken bento. Within a couple of minutes, my food was packed up and off I went to pay for my food at the cashier. As I left the store, I looked back to see a line deep with at least 8 people standing in line for chicken! DANG, I guess the word is out. THE VERDICT: If you like fried chicken, AP will NOT disappoint. It's deep fried until perfection for the nice golden color and moist meat. It is seasoned at a minimal and you have assorted dipping sauces (i.e. ranch, BBQ, honey mustard, sweet and sour, marinara, etc.) if you wish. Overall, the fried chicken sure didn't disappoint and with the consensus with my colleagues, this is such a great deal (low prices in Waikiki) that will satisfy your tummy and not cause a dent in your wallet. NOTES: 1) Shout out to Tammy, the cashier, who caught an error where I was about to be overcharged. She confirmed my order and made the adjustment which brought my bill down. 2) Technically this is BROASTED CHICKEN, which is NOT to be confused with FRIED CHICKEN. I was staying at the Luana Hotel and Aloha Petroleum is just the next building. AP happens to be the only gas station/ mini Mart in Waikiki. Practically each day , I would stop in to buy snacks and Beer. I am very happy they stock Enjoy Li Hing Lychee Gummy. This item must be a Hawaii exclusive as I cannot find it at stores in California. Y'all, we rented a car from Turo for a day. With Turo, you either pay $20 for them to clean the car afterwards or you clean it and return it without having to pay the $20. I guess it depends on who your host is. Anyways,we were trying to save money so we decided to vacuum the car before we returned it. We found this gas station in Waikiki through our Turo host. We were able to vacuum your car for less than two dollars and returned it and saved ourselves $18. Highly recommend this place for people who rent their cars on Turo and don't want to spend the money to give to the car host for cleaning their own car. By the way the machine takes quarters only so make sure you have quarters when you get here. There's also a line for the vacuum there's only one machine. read more

The "store manager" (Tiffani? I believe) is a Racist and abuses her "power". I ordered gas in store and she refused to process the transaction, I was confused and said "it says cancelled" she said "I cancelled it because you tried to steal here last week" .... I DON'T GO TO THIS GAS STATION... I was in the middle of Door Dashing, I was in this area because my orders took me to this area. I work for my money and make an honest living, I don't need to steal... I said "with all due respect you're mistaken" she said "no I remember you" I told "her I don't go here" She just looked away I said "can I speak to your manager?" SHE POINTED TO HER BADGE and said "I am the manager" She clearly wanted to abuse her power and her "right to refuse service" as she later put it. This is racist, uncalled for and unjustified. No handle engagement mechanisms on the pumps. I'd pump two more stars into this review, if they'd install that device. They'd get all the stars if they went with hand free pumpers! And we would have to touch filth. Pro tip: wedge something random in between the handle and trigger, voila! Now open yelp, kick back, and enjoy reading my stupendous reviews. It's a gas station! Aloha Petroleum in Waikiki is currently known as Aloha Island Mart Waikiki. The convenience store and gas station is owned by Aloha Petroleum which is a subsidiary of Sunoco. The 24hr convenience store is located on Kalakaua Avenue and is right next door to the Luana Hotel. There is a car rental company leasing a section of the property and the office happens to be inside of the convenience store near the kitchen. This convenience store location also sells fresh hot fried chicken, deep fried burritos, potatoes wedges, corn dogs, and rice. Place your order with the employee handling the kitchen and pay the cashier up near the entrance. The convenience store has your typical snacks, package beverages, F'real milkshakes and smoothies, fountain drinks, hot coffee, pastries, musubis, cold sandwiches, toys for the children, health and beauty products, automotive oils, 7 pound bag ice, alcohol, hard liquor that's locked up in a cabinet, as well as cigarettes plus e-cigs. Customers 21yrs old and over are able to purchase cigarettes and alcohol. Make sure to have a valid identification card on hand when purchasing those particular items. Customers are able to purchase gas as well. Diesel is also sold at this location. Taxi drivers who pay cash get a 5¢ discount off of a gallon. Individuals with the Makai card from SackNSave or Foodland can get 5¢ discount off of a gallon of gas when paying with cash. Sorry the Kama'aina card is only accepted at Hele gas stations and 76 gas stations not the Aloha gas stations. Restroom is available for paying customers of the convenience store. Keep the restroom clean please. Bank of Hawaii ATM is located inside the convenience store. Cash, debit, credit, and EBT are accepted as payments. Apple Pay and Google Pay can be used to pay for purchases at this location. Employees are friendly. Cashier can get stressed out especially if there are more than four customers standing in line and only one register open. Please have patience. If purchasing gas for a rental vehicle....pay the cashier first then fill-up vehicle. Cashier would need a dollar amount in order to set the pump. Person paying with a credit card will get charged for the amount that is pumped into the vehicle. Aloha Island Mart Waikiki on Kalakaua Avenue would be the place to fill up your vehicles especially if returning a rental car to one of the nearby car rental agencies. They're all a bunch of friendly people and would love for your to take pictures of their cars. Pro Tip: While pumping gas at this station, stop by the FRIED CHICKEN STAND that's located in the mart. As soon as you walk in you'll smell the delicious smell of crispy fried chicken and trust me IT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT. The staff is very friendly and always looking like they're having a great day. Stopped to get gas when I heard prices dropped . Not having driven in months thank you COV 19 I filled up my car 3.64 g drove 5 minutes and saw 245-285 g. Another one same . Anyways, I had a different vibe here last August when I had to fill up gas before returning the car rental...don't have to tell you the gas is always gonna be higher than the mainland, that I do not miss... The fried chicken is awesome, best kept secret ever! No need go to Waialua and get stuck in choke traffic! I dunno about the worker's attitudes here but didn't have any issues? Do not use the Pump #2's Super pump...it's broken. You know how you don't really pay attention and stare at the pump while the gas goes into your car? Well, I didn't...and I was just looking around at the tourist and minding my own business and all of a sudden I hear SPLASH SPLASH SPLASH!!!! Aloha Petroleum is the only gas station in Waikiki and it is really convenient if you do not wish to drive outside of Waikiki just to get some gas. Plus, the prices are reasonable too. I have never actually interacted with anyone here. They have gas pump machines that accept credit cards so I just use those, fill up, and then continue on my way. I like how Aloha Petroleum is never really too crowded and filling up is a breeze. Will definitely be stopping by again when I am in the neighborhood. read more

The gas station is a typical gas station but they also sell fried chicken here. Ordered a thigh and a wing and they both were delicious. They were juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, with a nice flavor. Can't ask for much more. The wing and thigh were $1.95 each. I would actually come back here for the chicken and while I was parked outside I saw numerous walk in customers coming in to buy bags of chicken. Good stuff! read more

There's an ATM and we asked if they could break our 20 once we use the ATM. the lady gave me a hard time about about breaking our 20 but reluctantly agreed. Before I even got to use the ATM, however, she scolded me and said I was standing too close to the person currently using the ATM. which I was NOT. there was a liquor cabinet close to the ATM that I was checking out. I get to the back and there is no one there I didn't know that server is also the lady that runs the gas station cashier. So one staff there happen to walk out to the front counter of the chicken shop or whatever you call it. I've gotten gas here 3-4 times. No issues, it's a gas station. Swipe card, push buttons, fill tank, leave. I've purchased snacks here once and a while. No issues, see junk food, choose, pay. Staff always pleasant enough. And, I've tried the fried chicken. 2 piece (thigh, drumstick) plus wedge fries and a biscuit for $8-ish (tax included). Totally not healthy, but tasty. Food with no line, costs less than $20, and is filling; that's gold in Waikiki. read more

Horrible!!!!! We lost a drivers license and wanted to ask if they'd found one after we gassed up. They answered and hung up three times before I had a chance to even ask - then they shouted NO and hung up again. I should really give them 5 stars because in my entire life I've never dealt with a person as rude and ignorant as that. It's truly amazing the incompetence one person can display. They deserve something for that. It's too bad Yelp doesn't have the jack ass award because this person would win everyday. read more

As challenging as it may seem, I have truly managed to find the dumbest human beings in the State of Hawaii. I unfortunately buy gas here often as it is the most geographically convenient location on my way home from work. What is awe striking is the epic poor service. I am not sure where in Micronesia they found their pack of cashiers at, but it clearly was a place where math and communications are strictly frowned upon. try to pay with a credit card and you are met with the blank stare and missfitting grill of what may be the most horrifying group of people you have come across. they randomly leave the cashier station and walk outside and just let the line back up. I can't really give credit to what a sh*t show this place is. The ONLY reason this does not get 1 star (sadly zero is not an option) is the fried chicken they sell is quite good, although ordering and paying for it involves dealing with the people working there. I have stopped by several times over the year that I have been back.Some of the girls are nice,but it is very obvious to this old kamaiina that some of them do not feel haoles deserve to be treated friendly.They do have some ono chicken if and when it is fresh,or you can get them to make it fresh for you.
