I've been going to this Longs for years, and I honestly don't know what happened to it, but the current experience is hard to ignore. Every time I walk inside, there's a strong, unpleasant odor that smells like sewage or fecal matter. It's consistent enough that it doesn't feel like a one-off issue--it's something you notice immediately when you enter the store. At times it seems stronger in certain areas, which makes me wonder if it's coming from plumbing, floor drains, or possibly even outside air getting pulled in. What's frustrating is that this location used to feel like one of the better-run stores on the island. Now, the overall impression is very different. Even if the shelves are stocked and the staff is doing their job, the environment itself really affects the experience of shopping there. What stands out is the comparison with nearby stores like Safeway, which don't seem to have the same issue, even though they serve the same general area. That contrast makes the problem at this location even more noticeable. I hope management takes a serious look at it, because this doesn't feel like a minor cleanliness issue--it feels like an infrastructure or maintenance problem that's been left unresolved for too long. It's about time I do an update if this Longs Drugs as this location is near my home. I've avoided this location for multiple reasons. But the main reason was a previous bad experience that left a bitter taste in my mouth. Earlier in the day I went to the doctor's office for some relief to a cold that I've been battling for about 10 days now. OTC remedies were not doing the trick and I was miserable staying at home not wanting to pass my germs to my colleagues. When asked where I wanted to pick up my medications, I usually go to the one in Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center as I'm in Kaneohe a lot for my part time job. But because I wanted to take the medication immediately and for convenience I selected this store next to Pali Hwy. After my doctor's appointment I made a few errands and just after picking up some lunch I received a text advising my two prescriptions were ready for pick up. I originally had planned on going before my 340pm dentist's appointment that's in the See Dai Doo Building. Howeve, I was desperate for relief so I drove here. To my delight the parking lot was not that congested at 1130am. I immediately found an empty parking stall near the entrance. I made a beeline to their pharmacy where there were about 5 people queuing. All 5 were senior citizens and regardless they all had questions to ask the pharmacy staff, the line moved quickly. When it came to my turn my transaction was quick. Replied to the staff's question by providing my DOB and name, she confirmed my 2 prescriptions. I paid for them and then returned to my car. So why only 4-stars? I'm sure you have noticed the undesirable foot traffic of homeless and the mentally unstable in this area. I have witnessed them many times in the past and today was no different. There was a female who was laying down on the pavement and yelling out loud. So sad to witness such incidents in broad daylight. Overall, this Longs Drugs is clean, bright and well organized with its products and displays. I also appreciate the coupons you receive as there are considerable savings that encourages you for repeat visits within the time frame. I hope the management or landlord of this area can clean up the area so that consumers feel safe to shop at either Long's Drugs or Safeway. read more

I''m sorry to have to say this but I don't frequent this location very often, mainly because there's always something unsavory happening in the parking lot. This particular visit I saw a security guard and male in an altercation, so I scooted away as fast as I could. Once I got inside I looked for the pharmacy since I was picking up medications for my sick next door neighbor. Once I got there I noticed how busy they were but there weren't many people in line - until I looked down one of the aisles and saw a very long line. About a half hour later I reached the window and asked if the long lines were "normal". Since all the other Longs in the downtown area had closed, including the one at Ward Avenue, they were IT!! I sure hope these hard-woking folks, who are on their feet for hours, are WELL-PAID because they DESERVE IT!! read more

Pali Longs... Like Safeway it was a memory of visiting grandma and remember shopping here for various items especially the deal from the Sunday ads. Though it's been updated with renovations it still sits in time of the past as this huge property sits on a simple lot with the classic triangular sign on the Pali Hwy entrance I decided to give them a visit after shopping at Safeway I was still looking for something that wasn't available there. Still not finding what I needed the layout here is interesting as the food is on the right while the cosmetics and personal care items on left as you walk in giving it an easy clear division to find what you need though it's not my usual store it felt awkward and the parking can be difficult though I did luck out on this visit making it an easy browse. If you visited long's Pali you probably have seen this often! Why is it that they are in the same parking lot as Safeway but Safeway rubbish cans are always empty and the wagon are empty and clean? They have lots of cashier open and try to minimize the customers waiting in long lines. This longs is one of the worst, the only reason is I pick up my medication there, but looking to change to elsewhere, because of the poor service and the homeless hanging around there. Sad to see so many longs close, when they used to be the main drug store everyone went to for anything not only for medication. I heard many customers don't want to shop at nights for fear of getting harassed or robbed, even workers don't like to work the late shift. read more

The pharmacy staff is the worst on the island. When you speak to them on the phone, they give you a bad attitude. Specifically, Josie, is unknowledgeable and rude. The pharmacists don't speak to any customers directly. Instead, you have to speak to the technicians who are clueless. Most of the time my prescriptions were not in stock. read more

This CVS/Longs Location is convenient for me from the standpoint of logistics to my home and office. It was not my first choice because it's always busy. However, the location that I used to visit is now closed leaving me with this alternative. The upside is it was recently renovated. The staff from the location that I used to go to relocated to the this location, at least most of them. The pharmacy has designated hours of operation. Be sure you check their timing before you attempt to get to the pharmacy. The interior footprint of the store is similar to most of the CVS/Longs locations. As always, at the Pali shopping Center parking is a problem. So know this in advance before attempting to shop at this location The other upside point to this location is you could do a one stop shop and go next-door to Safeway groceries. read more

So Longs is CVS of Hawaii. I didn't realize this when I was searching for a drug store until I found this location went inside. This location is next to Safeway so they have a shared parking lot with plenty of parking. The store has a number of checkout lines but it's a slow process to check out. Staff is super friendly and the store is kept pretty clean inside although the outside looks unclean. read more

I switched my RX to this Long's from Moli'ili Long's and Kahala Long's and now do my Long's shopping here too. They are a thousand times better in all regards. The pharmacy people are hard-working, kind and polite, will give you a real answer instead of fobbing you off by telling you to try somewhere else because they're too busy and don't have it in stock. I also like the wide-open setup of the store at the entry, where you don't have to dodge shelves and people in line to get into the store. Visited Longs Pali this morning to get a vaccine shot. Upon existing car was approached by a homeless man asking for money, when also leaving there was another homeless person who was obviously mentally challenged hand gesturing and saying something. Whatever rules that changed where u can't fill your rx from the location chosen because they no like handle controlled meds. Why not just be nice and say so. That's understandable but instead explains it in a way and tone that sounds like you don't wanna help, well I'm sorry to say but if you have issues well so do I and I needed my medicine. But now I need to contact my doctor to cancel and send it to another pharmacy. Delaying my meds will make me sick and may not be able to get up in the morning because the medication I needed is delayed another day. I agree with the other comment that says their surprise that this location still hasn't closed the homeless all over and bad customer service. "Make Longs A Part of Your Day" is the current jingle for our local CVS Stores in Hawaii. Longs is certainly a common household name at home and at work. We wait our turn for the yellow Sunday insert of the newspaper every week. Luckily, with modern technology, we can view the ad on our phones with the CVS app. This particular location, Pali Longs, is the closest to my mom's house. It's a 24/7 operation (on the corner of Pali Highway and Vineyard Boulevard) and shares its parking lot with Safeway. There are some sketchy characters hanging around - maybe because it's on the edge of Chinatown and Downtown - so, be wary. Last week, I brought my mom here because she wanted to get some BioAstin - it's a type of antioxidant. It was locked up in a cabinet, next to the vitamins. We rang the buzzer and an employee unlocked the cabinet and took two bottles out - one for mom and one for me to try. I wanted to use a coupon on my app, but the trainee cashier couldn't find it. She tried several times, voided the transaction, and started to put my cold drink back in the refrigerator - as if I wasn't going to buy it. I didn't realize that she had given up until I saw her walking away with the bottle that I wanted. I had to call her back and tell her that I still wanted the bottles of BioAstin and the beverage. Plus, when she scanned the BioAstin, it was Buy One, Get one Free, so mom and I had gotten two more bottles (four bottles total)! She called a manager and sent us to his cash register. The manager found out that I had two CVS cards. The original one was really warped - that's why I got a second card. However, the coupon that I wanted to use was in the warped card... Ahhh! That's why the trainee couldn't find the coupon! Wow! That manager was patient and smart! Today, I had another coupon which I wanted to use. It was 30 percent off of one item. I really wanted to get a birthday card with a Hawaiian beach or sunset. I found a "Local Kine" card that will do the trick of making a WWII Veteran's 100th birthday a little brighter! My wife went to 3 Longs/CVS looking for a specific item. She called the Pali location store # 09228 and their computer said they had one in stock. The employee who helped us whose first name is Branch went above and beyond and exceeded every expectation by going to the receiving section in hopes of finding the item on a stacked pallet. He did everything he could to help but to no avail. Though we traveled from Pearl City we really appreciated how far a team member would go to satisfy their customer. Thank you Branch for going the extra mile. We will return next week. It's a great store. Check it out if you want the best customer service in town. read more

This isn't the most organized CVS / Longs Drugs store I've been to. Last time I stepped in to try and find some kleenex tissues. Couldn't find them anywhere near the paper goods and health care aisles, which was a bit frustrating and annoying. Ended up just giving up and getting them at the Safeway next door instead. I heard later that their kleenex and tissues were actually near where the makeup and beauty section is. That really boggles my mind. Who puts the tissues next to the beauty aisles? Depending on what you're here for - you may or may not be able to find them. There's lots of snack foods and Hawaiian merchandise if you're looking for gifts. As a senior I asked the Pharmacy cashier for a non-safety cap for my prescription. She opened my package and looked at the container. I went home and the prescription bottle still had the safety cap. I went to Pali Longs just to rent a Red Box video which the movie I wanted was rented out. Decided to go down the aisle where all the cleaning products or located and of course all wiped out empty shelves. I notice a customer at the check out had some of those Clorox wipes , so I asked her where did she get it she pointed to the customer service counter. Just wanted to say Pali Longs have a great system in place instead of having these product on the shelves they have it located in the back counter of the customer service desk. Also they have a sign limit 2 per customer and they personally hand it out. We were notified our rx was ready for pickup in Wednesday. We came to pick up the rx on Saturday, 3 days later. We came at 1:30 pm and the pharmacy was closed till 2 pm. Then when we get to the window we are told the rx was put back. Then we had to wait for Longs to refill the rx. When asked what policy is for holding the rx the rep said they hold it for 14 days. I said we were told three days ago rx was ready. Then rep said I don't know why they put it back. So I had to wait for the rx to be filled which was another 15 minutes. So we waited 45 minutes because of lunch and incompetence. Such terrible service. They don't give a rip about its customers. Only themselves. read more

Went to Longs this afternoon. First of all, the parking was horrendous as half of the parking lot was blocked off due to resurfacing so cars going in all directions to come in and get out as it was blocked off in a weird fashion. Walking to Longs along the perimeter, I am stopped and asked for money and just walked away. Full of homeless everywhere. Going out of the store and walking on the outside of the store, just as I was passing the exit that was blocked off to traffic, a man ran in front of me yelling to another man on the ground if you try that again I'm going to f'ing bust your face. The other man got up and went after the man they were beating each other up. They were at it badly so I went into Longs and tried to tell personnel (3 different people) that two people were beating on each other. Each referring me to someone else and the final person looking disgusted and telling me you gotta call the police. I left finding this very disturbing. How do you even know that it is not one of your customers getting assaulted as I gave you no details. Guess once we leave the store, no one cares what goes on outside of your store. Longs Drugs has been a long time chain on Oahu similar to a more recent franchise, Walgreens. It is not a new or recently renovazed store but the Pali location has been here for decades and is a busy locale. I've been at this store a handful of times, mostly in the past few months. It is pretty well-organized and stocked. Customer service is generally very good at most Longs stores that I've shopped at...and it was the case at the Pali Longs. I couldn't find sponges that were advertised as on sale and asked a clerk who quickly showed me to the end of an aisle that I missed. Also, cashier asked if I wanted to use a promotional coupon for an item at checkout. Longs is convenient for snacks, canned goods, local/Asian treats, and household supplies. The types of things you pop into a Walmart for if you don't have a long grocery list. Parking lot is big and Safeway is adjacent to Longs. They have an app - CVS app - for your phone which makes shopping convenient. I have an iPhone. Not quite as good as Target's or Wal-Mart's but a solid app. read more

This store is a zombie apocalypse nightmare. The parking lot is filled with drugged out zombies who want to break into cars and beg and lay around loitering. The store is in disarray. They've been in "renovation" mode for far too long. There's shelves oddly placed in the main aisle blocking a clear path to move around. I think it's a crackhead ninja warrior setup to prevent people from grab and runs but really it's just annoying when you're a customer trying to get in and out in a hurry. People mill around slowly and blocking the way. Finally, the cashiers also move in slow motion and don't try to expedite the lines. The "Long" in this "Longs" stands for long lines. There's never enough registers open and then ones that are don't enforce standards with customers. For example a couple in front of me was allowed to do 3 separate transactions at peak Friday afternoon hour while the line piled up behind them. While the cashier laughed and talked story the whole time. The lady of the couple waited for her husband to do 2 separate transactions before she strolls up with 2 more items, cutting 4 people in line to do a whole separate transaction. And then asks to use some kind of coupon on one of the previously completed transactions. So it's a whole other delay of refunding and re-ringing up. Seriously rude on the cashier and customers parts. Skip this place if you're in a hurry. The only thing this whole shopping center is good for is leaving your car parked overnight when you go party downtown. Just cross your fingers you don't find a corpse in your trunk. The only thing that I can recommend here is the pharmacy dept. they really beat any other dept. I can ask for help and they would go out of their way to help me find things. Jack the manager of the pharmacy is beyond what any managers would do! He really make the time to listen to you. The other staffs in the pharmacy dept have by far the best customer service than the store it self. I gave the PHARMACY a 5 star. As for the store it self they deserve a 2 star. Don't get me wrong but the employees are good. But they never go out of their way to help you out. I asked once for help and all I get is isle this. I mean come on. He is knowledgeable about what they carry at this location and friendly. He also saw me struggling to carry the basket (I knew I should have gotten myself the cart instead) and offered to take it to the register for me while I shopped around. 5 stars for Kevin's excellent customer service! read more

Parking is shared with Safeway in the back. My co-workers and I walk down from our office building by passing by Central Middle School. I prefer going to this location because it is less crowded than location at Fort Street Mall by S King St. With the weekly ads that starts on Sunday, merchandise on sale are cheaper than regular prices and at other stores. I have a pet peeve for inventory of sale items. If merchandise is sold out, employee should be a sign on shelf in front of sale sign. If they don't have a sign, you need to ask an employee to check their warehouse which it takes time out your busy schedule. At Pharmacy, there is a wait like 15 to 20 minutes as you were told by pharmacy staff. read more

This is one of the larger Longs stores on the island, so they have a pretty good variety of items compared to the smaller stores. It hasn't yet gotten the interior upgraded design of the newer Longs stores, but that means I still know where most of the stuff I need are located! Most of the clerks are friendly and helpful. I fill many prescriptions here due to its convenient location, and have been satisfied with this service. I appreciate the good sale prices on staple items. Whoever strategized the rotation of their sale items has got their system down to a science! The way I figure out what's running low in my house is by reading their weekly ads. Haha! Scary. read more
