I came for a retreat to do some writing. Lisa outdid herself ! Everything from the amazing comfortable bedding to the amenities (hot tub , grill, dog friendly ) to the darn kitchen sink ! Every touch of elegance by Lisa is truly a work or art. The Oostemas are some of the hardest working people I know and coming to their property feels like coming to a home away from home. The stay here is priceless whether you're in their glamper, their bottom level suite or their tiny house. (They also have rv parking and camping) Any option you go with you'll be glad you did. This is the true feeling of farm life is captured here which has stolen my heart ! One day when I have kids I will bring them here ! Thank you again Lisa and Glen. We will be back.

The owners are very nice people. It's a working farm with raspberry fields to walk thru and animals to visit in the barn. The pig and the goat were particularly fun to feed. They have black angus and wagyu beef for sale as well as fresh eggs. When we were there they also had the most delicious blueberries I've ever purchased for $1/basket. The sites are mostly full hookups in a flat grassy area with a picnic table and fire ring for each. You can also boondock here. There's a ton of stuff to do in this beautiful area including the tap trail for beer lovers. Lynden is a very charming town that worth seeing. There is a museum as well as historic walking tours of the cemetery. People picking up their new Escape travel trailers often stay here, so it's fun to see the new ones arriving.

Hi everyone, I have…read moreto say it's one of the worst campgrounds around, if you want to stay there they want a $100.00 deposit and their hydro has gone down{not working} a few times and never mind their hydro boxes are over loaded. I went to check why their hydro wasn't working because I was having problems{over and over}, because other people in the park mentioned I should check it out, to give you an idea, myself and the next door neighbor had both are breakers go out at same time, we find out we are connected even though we are supposed to pay hydro separate and yet we are supposed to be on separate breakers and yet the box where it shows we are it isn't. {where the meter is, that was separate but yet breakers weren't} Also the owners are so rude, nice up to they get you, in the park. I had stayed for a few months in the winter, they had fallen trees including a neighbor had large tree branch smash his back window of his car {They didn't and wouldn't pay for it either} and they said they will not get someone in there to correct the problem by cutting back dangerous parts of trees throughout park. I have to say I'm a advocate to NOT want to cut trees down unless really needed, in which this was desperately needing. Anyways besides that it is pretty when you go further back in the park and if you want to fish, they are smaller mind you but could be a great experience for kids. The pond is smaller but quaint. Most of the park does look like a trailer park, not for me, I had booked it only because I had looked online and had never been there before. I will NEVER go back, sorry to bring so much crap up but it's a fact! Thank-you and have a wonderful day!

Best (first) rafting experience ever! You don't get a first ever again, am I right? So why not…read moretreat yourself right to some glamping as well. WHAT IS GLAMPING? I'm embarrassed to say that my parents knew before I did. Glamour + camping, just imagine all the hassle of camping from when you were younger--hauling the tent, eating spam by the fire, potty breaks behind the trees--gone. I know what you are thinking, "WEAK. THAT'S NOT CAMPING!." Well if you are just going to stay at some shoddy hotel 30 minutes away instead, might as well live by the river at this resort in some fancy tents with restrooms + showers and dining hall meals. My parents and I did the rafting + 1 night glamping package. It'll cost you quite a chunk of your wallet at around 300 CAD each. If you aren't the biggest fan of camping, it might not seem worth it at first, but this place definitely did come around to me. You can either do the afternoon rafting option, where you come early afternoon, raft, and then stay the night; or you can come in the late afternoon, stay the night, and raft in the morning. We chose the latter. We checked in around 5pm, got shown to our tent (ours was conveniently, or unfortunately, located right next to the bathrooms), and settled down on the rocking chairs overlooking the river. Dinner was served at 7pm. There's an open dining hall area, and the patrons as well as the staff both eat here. The food is cafeteria style, as in there are huge trays of food brought out and they serve everyone first so that there is enough food to go around. You can then go serve yourself after. The food isn't fancy, but it also isn't bad. Another necessity served at the dining hall area are outlets! Since the tents don't have any outlets, you'll have to bring your phone chargers here. Oh, there is wifi throughout the whole resort too. They know we all can't live without these things. The showers are located farther away from the tents, up a small flight of stairs. The water is nice and hot though, and they keep the shower rooms fairly clean. Towels and bath mats are provided, but shampoo/soap and other toiletries aren't. So make sure you bring those from home! There's also a hot tub area right next to the campfire area, which is right next to the yoga area, which is right next to the dining halls. You get the idea. We didn't chill around the campfire that night, but we saw some people roasting smores. Classic. Lights go out at 10pm, but they do give you a small lantern for light. You can hear the river rushing right outside, drowning out any other noise like one of those "nature soothing sounds" some people put on at night to help them sleep. Knocked me out fairly quick. Breakfast was at 8:30 am. Bright and early. Our rafting guide, Dylan, introduced himself to us then. Spoiler: having a great, experienced guide is important. Rafting was at 9:30. We wetsuited up, lifejackets on, helmets tightened, booties on our feet. They took us on a bus down along the old logging road that runs by the Nahatlatch River. Our group was a bit special because it was just us 3 patrons since I guess another group didn't make it. Usually they bring 6-7 people in each raft. That just meant more room on the raft. Dylan taught us all some important commands like holding on to the rope and crouching down in the raft. We practiced this out in a lake area, and then we were off on some rapids. I was slightly frightened after seeing a trainee fall out of another raft. For better or for worse, I treated every command from then on almost as if my life depended on it. I definitely did not want to fall out along some of these rapids with rocks and branches in the water. The second stretch, Dylan said was a grade 4 (and optional), which meant it was a bit more difficult. We ended up opting out of that, and hopped onto the bus to the stretch after. Dylan said something about a rapid called the Meat Grinder. No thanks. They had snacks waiting for us at that point, which I thought was a nice touch. And after our snack break it was back into the water. The rest of the river all the way back to the resort was about 11km long. After the initial shock was over, and after getting a hang of the commands and trusting Dylan as he guided us between rocks and telling us to hold on before bigger falls, the rest of the river was quite the experience. Drenched and battered by the river, we made it through some real breathtaking views and felt a visceral power of the rushing water. The whole experience was about 3 hours long. The hot tub felt amazing right after. After lunch and an easy checkout, we were on our way back to Vancouver. Without a doubt, Reo is definitely a great place for beginner rafters!

He was also friendly and welcoming and made sure we were well fed and had a good time. There is never a guarantee of finding specific wildlife when you are out in the wild, but Larry and Korry knew the animals behaviors and made sure to stay up to date on recent patterns and updates from all the other local teams in order to give us the best chance to see orcas, humpbacks, eagles, seals, and lots of other wildlife while out kayaking. Even if we didn't see any whales the entire time, it still would have been a great trip. However, we did see lots of orca and humpbacks during our time. They even came right by our island one evening, where we could see them from our dinner table and hear them while sleeping in our tents. I highly recommend going with Larry and Discovery Expeditions. We hope to make another trip in the future.

Some RV sites are on concrete pads with concrete patios (no grass), some are concrete pads with grass lawns, and some are grass lots. This KOA also has a swimming pool, a very well kept mini golf (those of you who camp a lot know how rare this is), huge play ground for the kids, two ponds with ducks, frogs and fish (fishing limit of 3 per camper), paddle boats, Friday night movies on the sloped lawn, bingo, ladder ball... too much to list! The grounds are immaculate and the large staff works to keep it that way. They have a well stocked store (hours 9-9) and a separate "Den" for coffee, ice cream, and arcade games. The laundry room is unrivaled and the bathrooms/showers are the envy of most RV parks. The park only has propane filling during certain hours BUT they will fill and deliver your LP tank to your site!!!!! Seriously, who does that?! The service at this KOA is reminiscent of the 1950s, when one could expect spectacular service for a nominal cost. I only have two wishes: 1. I wish I had more vacation time at work! 2. I wish I had visited sooner! Treat yourself. Make your reservations and enjoy this gem. :)

The issue lies with the campground manager Teniah. On multiple occasions, I've witnessed her being openly hostile toward her coworkers, using profanity, and behaving in an extremely unprofessional manner. Earlier this summer during a weekend stay i overheard her lashing out at a sweet office worker over small things simply because she was "overwhelmed". While doing laundry, I even heard her swearing about customers, which is unacceptable in a role meant to assist and welcome guests. On this most recent trip things wereworse. Teniah was extremely aggressive toward my young grandchildren when they came in to buy candy, again because she was overwhelmed and couldn't handle the situation professionally. Then another office worker Hailey, disappeared into the bathroom near the office for an extended period, coughing heavily and clearly under the influence of marijuana. My granddaughter and her friends even saw her smoking a weed vape in the bathroom, which is completely unacceptable in a family-friendly campground. Guests pay hundreds of dollars to stay here and should not have to deal with this kind of unprofessional and inappropriate behavior. Aside from these two staff members, the rest of the team was amazing, and the campground itself is fantastic. Unfortunately, because of Teniah's hostility and Hailey's inappropriate actions, i no longer feel comfortable bringing my family here. After years of visiting this KOA, it's heartbreaking to say I won't be returning.

The traffic can be somewhat chaotic in the summer time and it is main area for a lot of boaters heading out of the cove. We kayak around three islands within our two hour option, but didn't relax as much as we want. Again, the salt water, slight wind, and being in the 80's made it a wonderful but brief time.

Our guides were knowledgeable and got us in and out of our kayak without us getting our feet wet. I didn't give five stars for two reasons. First, the two guides seemed a bit lax, they mostly paddled with us instead of taking lead and sweep positions, despite the fact that two out of the six of us had never kayaked before. They did look back periodically to check on everyone, but it was still strange compared to other kayak tours I've been on. Second, they didn't take pictures of us, other tours I've been on do it as a matter of course and email or post pictures to everyone. Still, this was a very worthwhile experience, and everyone enjoyed the views, the seals we saw in the water, etc., and no one had trouble keeping up despite the wind and the range of both ages and kayaking experience.
