Yes, the spots are quite tight, but we have a 40' class A motorhome, and we fit with all our slide outs out, so overall, it's a pretty convenient and comfortable RV park for exploring Vancouver. We did have to park our very small town vehicle in the lot as opposed to in our site. The floating cotton-looking stuff from cottonwood was floating everywhere in June, giving it a bit of a charming and idyllic feel. This biggest plus to this place is the location. It's pretty close to the city and is one of the only (or the only?) nearby option for larger rigs. It has a nice playground, which my kids enjoyed. I also used the gym (small gym with just the basics). Note - yes, they have a hot tub, but I was informed that due to municipal regulations, children are not allowed in it. read more

A lot of the spaces have older run down RV's in them. Some look like no one is there and are filthy. Small spaces and overall the place needs work. It's convenient so maybe someone can take it over and spruce it up. read more

This was our second time staying here. After three days they came to inform us that we could not have fencing for our dogs outside the trailer. We never left them out there without being there with them. We took it down after that and then tied the dogs to a line between the two doors on our trailer. Now we were told we can not do that because of bears. Again we have left our dogs out there without being out there too. I never complained about the dog who barked every morning at 6:30. Or the kid that screamed at all hours three sited down. Or the CONSTANT trims going very near to the park. Do not stay here is you want peace and quiet or want to be left alone. read more

Burnaby Cariboo RV Park is a perfect little gem in an URBAN setting. It's spotless and the staff are very helpful. Yes, the spots are very narrow and during prime tourist season it can be very, very busy. And yes, there is train and highway traffic noise almost 24/7. BUT it has so many pluses that I stay here often. Concrete pads so no mud in the sites; Cedar hedges between each site; huge laundry room with folding tables; indoor pool and hot tub; an RV wash station; and easy access to the highway or transit. AND, it's just across the street from the walking trails around Burnaby Lake. read more

The train is unreal! Runs all day and night and it's so loud and piercing that you'll need to plug your ears if you're outside. It's not horns, it's a high pitched shrieking of the brakes or wheels on the tracks, and rumbling and shaking like an earthquake. My unprepared son thought a plane was crashing and we were all going to die the first time it went by. Ask for a spot far from the train. You'll have to park your tow vehicle in the parking lot, but unless you're storing expensive gear in your vehicle, it's going to be worth not waking up 4 times in the middle of the night in a cold sweat. That said, everything else is pretty nice. The hedges make the area feel private and pleasantly landscaped. We felt like Alice's White Rabbit scooting between hedges with our laundry and pool towels. The laundry was very clean with plenty of machines. You purchase a reloadable card and will need to manage carefully to use it up before you go. Can pay with card/tap/phone which is appreciated. The pool/ hot tub are indoors and great for kids on rainy days. The wash bay looks narrow and hard to back a trailer into, but probably great for class Cs or Bs. There is a pullover space just behind it with free access to hose if you don't want to pay or have a larger rig than you care to back into the narrow stall. We particularly enjoyed being right next to a beautiful nature preserve and creek. Shopping is also very convenient with a Costco within walking distance and anything else you could need a short drive away. All in all a nice place for a reasonable price, just stay as far away from the train as possible. read more

For the price, this RV park was very disappointing. The sites are very narrow with scrubs on either side which makes it extremely difficult not to scratch or damage your RV. We refer to this park as the "NO" park because of all the rules. They say they welcome you and your dog, but that is misleading and not true. There is no where in the park to walk your dog. The park rule requires you to walk your dog off the premises. There are more signs than I could count saying "No Dogs" all around the park. If you need to do laundry, you have to purchase a laundry card that you probably will not be able to use anywhere else, and then load money onto it from your credit card. If you don't use all the money on the laundry card, you lose it. Why not use machines that accept credit cards. This is just another little money maker for the park. We have been traveling in Canada for two months and this is by far our worst park experience. read more

Stayed two nights December. One star off for mud at the parking pad. Spots are tight, and some have no privacy to the rear. Park is incredibly clean, staff went above and beyond with local recommendations, fully stocked store on sight. Didn't use the free wi-fi. Very near highway, Costco, skytrain. We were told good for our 45 foot rigs. Way to tight. Sites narrow. Slide out pushing into hedge on one side hard to open door on other. Only 30 amp service. Very hard to back in most sites. Don't go to this park! The sites are tiny. Internet is not free and even when you pay for it, it cuts out within every hour. They rob you to use the laundry machines. Found this through the Woodall's Guide to camping, and it was a good place to stay. Even though the RV's are close together, and there were families here with small children, it was much quieter than you would think. It had all the amenities, including a TV room, a large pool and hot tub, and free WiFi. It was on the more expensive side of the campgrounds I have stayed at, but was glad to be able to camp so close to the SkyTrain and just leave the van and go into the city. The RV park was also close to a nice walking path, the staff were helpful and there was a store at the office, in case you forgot something you had to have. One treat for us was that Costco was close by, and we were able to get a coffee on our way to the train. The park even had a place to wash your RV if you needed to. read more

This is the letter I wrote to the manager. Do not stay here! I was treated extremely rudely by your employee this afternoon. I do not know his name, but I'm sure you will be able to identify him because he was on duty when we checked in at 4:04 pm. He has red hair. First, you also need to know that the young lady who was working check-in was very pleasant and obviously went through all the standard steps she is supposed to cover when checking in guests. She did, however, attempt to give information on the local transportation system as if she were in a race and after she recited (probably for the 20 time today) where the local Costco is, began giving rapid-fire directions to other locations. At that point, I told her "stop." I'm certain she does not realize that customers tired from the road are unable to absorb a string of instructions one after the other - in a strange place - looking at a map they have never seen and without being given a moment to orient themselves to what they are being shown. That is my first complaint. Either print more detailed maps or have your staff give customers a minute to get their bearings before being bombarded with more information than they can grasp. It's like drinking from a fire hose. The young lady handed me papers with instructions on your wi-fi as well as other information on the park. SHE DID NOT attempt to tell me anything about wi-fi except to tell me that sometimes people have problems connecting but once connected, have few problems. My second complaint is that your access road is ridiculously narrow and the right angle spacing of the RV pads makes parking longer RVs very difficult. I was told by Caaleb when I made the reservation (I have the email if you want to see it): We do not have any pull-though sites. One of our staff should be able to help guide you into your site if you need any help. When I requested help upon check in, your red-haired employee said no one was available to assist with parking due to liability concerns. My third complaint is that your website does not mention that one's vehicle must be parked separately. I would not have reserved with this park had I known that. The park takes pains to let guests know they will not accept responsibility for any damage or theft yet you have 24-hour surveillance. Please be assured that if I suffer any loss, damage or theft during our stay, your disclaimer will be tested to the fullest extent of the law. My fourth complaint is that your website does not mention the train tracks. Because of our location in the park, the tracks are 50 feet from us. When trains go past, the noise is deafening. Had I known that, I would not have reserved with this park. My fifth complaint has to do with your red-haired male clerk. I returned to the office after setting up because I was unable to connect to the internet, as I kept getting a message that my connection was limited and even the sign-in page could not be displayed. As soon as I walked into the office, he verbally assaulted me, saying that the young lady had attempted to tell me about wi-fi but that I had told her to "stop." He loudly told me that my behavior was inappropriate and that this park does not tolerate it; he also claimed the young lady was nearly in tears because I had supposedly treated her badly. When I tried to tell him she had not been giving wi-fi instructions but location instructions (and why I didn't want to hear any more map directions), he talked even louder and more aggressively to me. He was absolutely crossed the line in his treatment of ME and I expect you to speak to him about his behavior, which was outrageous. He refused to listen to me and continued talking over me until he had finished his tirade. He needs a lesson in customer service and anger management. The young man then addressed the problem of wi-fi. He assumed I used my phone for internet (which I don't) and said that he would have to accompany me back to my RV to help me, which he did. While he was reasonably civil about it, he further insulted me when he dismissed my attempt to explain that tired travelers can't be expected to be receptive to a barrage of information by being completely dismissive, saying "I see travelers who have been on planes for 10 hours...." Well, I have news. Travelers who have driven over the Cascade Mountains from Keremeos and then have to navigate unfamiliar freeways towing a 30' trailer have a right to be tired, too. How dare he dismiss anyone? Across the US, Canada and Alaska I have enjoyed visiting with and getting help from park operators. Today I find myself very reluctant to approach your front desk for anything, even though I have many questions that can only be answered by personal inquiry. I'm extremely disappointed and upset and I absolutely will pass my experience along to travel sites. This is not a nice place and I'm very sorry I chose it. DG read more

Oh, the Burnaby Cariboo RV Park... or as we came to affectionately call it, our Burnaboo. I had the pleasure of camping out here for 4 nights during the Olympics in an RV rented onsite from Fraserway. We didn't spend a whole ton of time at the park (for various reasons), but when we were there, we experienced some interesting things. I'll just run through a list: 1. Grounds: Well-kept, quiet except for the constant freight train traffic on the nearby rail line (when I say "nearby", I mean it), and with conveniently located (at least to me) bathrooms with showers. 2. Facilities: They offer bathrooms and showers (the men's showers had fairly crappy water pressure and only one temperature - hot as hades) as well as a gazebo/picnic area, indoor pool and hot tub, sun deck, store, game room, workout room, and "lounge" with a TV and "Wifi" "Internet" available 3. The Wifi: Atrocious. They have some sort of pay-by-time computer station that emits a wifi signal so weak that you can only get it while sitting physically inside of the lounge or immediately adjacent to it. Don't even think about getting wifi in your RV. And while you may be able to connect to the signal, don't count on actually getting internet access. Of the numerous times I tried over the course of 4 days, it only worked on one occasion, and was spotty at that. As an aside, I did get to witness a throwdown by a group of irate RV tenants over the wifi debacle. They were livid, and really taking it to this kid who was working in the lounge selling snacks and individually cellophane-wrapped pieces of birthday cake (don't ask). To be fair, he was being a dick. He kept telling us the internet was working when it was clearly not (everyone in the room knew it wasn't) and he couldn't reset the router "until 7:30" for some mysterious reason. Irate crowd: The wifi is broke, just fix it! Douche: No it's not, it's working, see that computer over there (the one plugged into the wall), it wouldn't be on if the internet was down Irate crowd: Are you kidding, there are 10 computers in this room and nobody can get on the internet Douche: Nope, it's working Irate crowd: You reset the router NOW Douche: No, it's working fine Irate crowd: SRSLY?!?!? NO, it's not working! Reset it. Irate crowd: (turns to our table): Are you on the internet? Us: No, and we already told him it's not working Douche: (gives us stink-eye) Irate Crowd: The guy with the messed-up teeth told us that you could reset the router Douche: I can't do that until 7:30 Irate crowd: (holds back from lynching the douche, goes downstairs to yell at other employees) 4. The hot tub: This was actually pretty awesome, as long as you a) don't stay past 11pm, and b) don't bring alcohol. Why? You'll get YELLED AT by some super-grumpy guy who kicks you out: Guy: It's past 11, everyone needs to get out. Us: Ok (we all immediately get up to leave) Guy: "DON'T YOU EVER BRING ALCOHOL IN THE POOL AREA AGAIN!" Me: (shocked) Ok, no problem Guy: (repeats yelling at us about alcohol) Me: Hey, you get that wifi fixed yet? Guy: Silence. Stink-eye The pool was heated as well. 5. Location - This park is located close to a sky-train stop and about a 30 minute drive from downtown (in an RV). It was annoyingly far for a group of folks who wanted to be in the city all the time and were sick of driving back and forth, but for someone looking to be in between the city and a quick escape out of the city, this is a good spot. Being near a Costco, a mall, and a Skytrain stop was handy too. Overall, I would give this spot 4 stars, but the internet was so bad, and some of the people working there need a serious attitude adjustment. That said, the ladies working the store downstairs were nice enough to me. Sometimes I just think RV park people are bitter. Oh well. PS: I think there was a rave going on in one of the RV's one night. Fortunately the frequent freight traffic drowned it out. read more

Whodathunk that staying in an RV park would be a fantastic alternative to staying in a hotel during the Winter Olympics? Burnaby was not as close to Vancouver as I'd hoped but when considering how expensive it would have been to stay even 5 miles closer to the city, this was well worth it! For four nights my friends and I slept in a spot here at the campgrounds in a rented RV and it was quite pleasant. The grounds are well-kept, not too many people with loose pets or kids, nice and quite (minus the roaring trains) and the bathrooms and public areas were always rather clean. If you're a fan of camping or road tripping, this is a lovely spot to stop and visit for a day or so. Not much going on nearby but conveniently close to Vancouver and other fun areas to visit. I imagine rates are even lower now that the Olympics were a year ago but beyond looking for a good deal, this seems like a quaint place to stop and hang out for a bit, regardless of the price. WIFI was nearly impossible to get (though it was promised) so expect to have a fully disconnected vacation. The pool/spa were fun and the staff were pretty friendly. A-OK in my book! read more

Weekday staff are amazing. Very friendly and helpful. One big guy that worked on the weekend made us feel like we were keeping him from doing something more important than looking after his customers. Sont think he knows what a smile is. Campround is very beautiful, clean and well kept with every amenity you can thi k of...just sont come with a tent. Train goes through at least 6 + times a night and the noise and grouns tremors make it impossible to sleep for longer than an hour at a time. And then theres the ants...omg the ants!!! I expect some little bugs when camping but come on...the ants the ants!!!! $45 per night to stay awake listening to trains and having the ground shaking g constantly is a bit much for me..oh and the ants!! read more

The camp ground spots are tight and close together, but you have nice clean showers, a swimming pool with hot tub. And wifi (a weird construction with 30 minutes free every 2 hours). The shop is wel stocked and when you start Your roadtrip You can pick up free stuff campers that finished their trip (like us) left. Our stay at this RV park was far less than we had hoped. We booked for 5 nights for our trip. When we first arrived we were given a stall that with their very narrow roads and stalls that are extremely tight made it impossible to park our 31 ft trailer. They were told of the length of our trailer when we booked. The front office staff was very accomodating and booked us into a new space which we could back straight into. However this stall was so narrow that our two slides pushed into trees. Next I'm not sure if all the sites are like this but the asphalt pad was extremely unlevel. My mistake when I unhooked without checking because I've never been to a place where cement or asphalt pads were unlevel both from front to back but also side to side. And not by a little bit either. My stabilization jacks were maxed out and still in the air on one side. The pool is nice but be prepared to let your kids know that unless they are 15 they are not allowed to be in the hot tub. Also only 15 and up allowed in the pool past 9pm. The Wi-Fi is not existent. They have weird rules of either 30 minutes at a time or 2 hour blocks which is fine but you can only access it properly in their lounge where the router is. We logged in there and as we walked to our trailer the signal became weaker and weaker to the point it didn't work. We even tried t0 use the Wi-Fi in the laundry room and it would not set up. Workout facility is also only for 15 and up. Nobody younger even if they are supervised by an adult. The main reason that we booked was that they have a picture of a basketball hoop and kids park for our boys to blow off energy and have fun each night. However during our stay they allowed a group to rent in that area and the group parked their van and cargo trailer on the court and they set up their tents within the area of the kids park. In the middle of the park they have a covered bbq area where the group was meeting. Since our 2 older boys could not play basketball they were playing with their younger brother and asked by the group to "tone it down and be quieter as their group was being disturbed" We asked the front desk the first night the group got there and we were told that the group booked the area so there would be no basketball during their stay and that they (front office staff) didn't want to disturb them. I will commend the front office staff our first night because they were very helpful and able to help with any questions that we had. However the next time we had new staff and they seemed very short and matter of fact. Many of the main things we looked for when booking did not go as we figured it would when we watched the infomercial on their website. We did not see any restrictions for the pool, hot tub, internet, or possible availability to the kids park and basketball court. We believed that we would have full access to each of these ammenities when we booked. We wrote this review so that you are all informed before you book and blindsided when you arrive. read more

Very clean park. Great city access, 20 minute drive to Vancouver. Staff is very friendly and knowledgable about locations, routes, etc. and helped arrange tours. They are one of the few RV parks where a day tour to Victoria/Butchart Gardens picks up at the park office, most only pick up at downtown Vancouver hotels. Spaces -- all are back-in -- are landscaped with high hedges between each site for privacy. Sites are concrete and relatively flat. Ours had a concrete pad wide enough to house 40-ft motorhome with 2 slides and tow vehicle so nothing was hanging out in the streets. RVs may be rinsed off at site, and they have a pay-to-wash station on park premises. Yes, typical RV park, poor Tengo WiFi, low water pressure, 30 amp, train track at back; however, we had a delightful stay here and would recommend and come back. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed one night here in a tent. Checking in the staff was very friendly and helpful. I feel the tent spot was a bit pricey (around $40), but it close to a lot things, 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver, so I guess it's somewhat fair. The grounds seemed really clean and well taken care of. The tent area was very lovely, but you are really close to other tents. Each spot has a sandy area for the tent and it's own picnic table. There was charcoal grills and a nice gazebo with sinks. Bathrooms are very easy to get to, clean, and there are free showers. We didn't use the pool or hot tub, but it looked very clean. The worse things about staying here is the trains. We had read reviews so we knew to expect them, but it was even worse than we thought. I had trouble falling asleep and it seemed at times there were trains every 20 minutes. You need to be a heavy sleeper and bring earplugs. If your camping in a RV or trailer there are many spots further away from the trains that would probably be much better. I noticed the RV spots were also very close together, but again well taken care of, trees that divided the spots and each one had their own patch of green grass and maybe a table, I cant remember. The lake that is nearby smells awful and is literally black by the dam, really made me wonder what was being dumped into it. You CAN'T smell or see the lake from the campground, its a little walk down the road. I would probably stay here again if I was wanting to be close in, but I would come more prepared for the trains. read more

We stayed here last week for 3 nights. It is a nice, safe, family RV campground. The spots are a little small compared to some other campgrounds but if you're ok with a tight squeeze to get in then it's fine. There is a well-stocked store. It's within walking distance to the sky train and I would say that the people working the front desk offer close to a concierge service for helping with getting around. The one significant drawback for us, travelling with teenagers, was the wifi. The wifi doesn't work well and is limited to two hours per day for two devices. For those of us who need access to devices for work and such while travelling, this was an inconvenience. Or if you have kids that want to watch a movie at night in the RV...it can't really be done if you're relying on the wifi. Also worth noting, although you're in a well populated urban area there are walking/hiking trails immediately adjacent. A beautiful location! read more

Great clean facilities but their wifi is weird because you only get it at certain times. You get 30mins every 2 hours, or a block of 6hours and I think it should be available for your entire stay. It has a spa! Lovely :) Their RV wash bay isn't able to be used though. read more

We made our reservations nine months before our arrival. They don't preassign spots. They also don't do a very good job of keeping track of how many large RVs they have coming in. All they could give us was a 36' spot for our 37' trailer. Our back was a foot into the evergreen at the back of the spot. Our back slides touched the hedge on that side and our slides on the front had to be open over the one side of the picnic table. We could not open our awning. Our hitch was hanging over into the street. And to add further irritation they put us next to the crazy guy, who felt the need to come over and yell at us. It was so bad, that we had to tell the front desk employees that he was harassing us. Their response, that's why we never park anyone next to him. Really? Positives - very clean, front desk help very friendly, close and convenient to downtown. read more

Stayed one night when our daughter was rowing in a regatta on Burnaby Lake, with our RV. I would definitely come back if we visit Vancouver to tour the area. Very clean, nice grounds, and not too cramped considering it is in a busy metro area. The store has rv parts that helped me fix a problem also. Nice grassy level spaces, hedges between rv sites, laundromat was great, everything well taken care of. Not cheap, but a very nice place. Nearby train tracks had a few trains, but not terribly noisy. This place is great! The owners are friendly and the facilities are clean and very well cared for. The pool and hot tub are amazing. The fitness centre and lounge are also a nice touch. And although the sites are small, they're set up well so that you get at least a little bit of privacy. Their day rates are pretty outrageous, but I stayed for two two-week stints which brings the day rate down by a huge amount. This is definitely the way to go. The only downside really is the location. Although there are two train stations and a mall within walking distance, there's not much else in the area. It also takes a while to get into the city from the closest train station. But the RV park's proximity to Burnaby Lake and its many walking trails is a huge plus. I would definitely stay here again! read more

Horrible experience at the campground. The pool and hot tub were great but couldn't save the trip for us. First, nobody told me that if my son wanted to put up his tent it would be an extra $40 per night. So for our camper and his tent the total was $102 a night...ouch...I should have stayed at a hotel. We literally got no sleep. It started about midnight with drunk folks coming back from a night on the town being totally crazy and loud. We had to scream at them to be quiet. And they finally settled down. An hour later woken up again to a girl fight by the bathrooms. Where are the campground hosts???? We were on our own to tough it out....and we did...I could go on but safe to say it was probably the worst night in a campground I have ever spent....all for the price of $102....sweet. I contacted the owner only to be totally blown off by her...never again Burnaby Cariboo.... read more

Free wifi is a lie. If you can even get a signal the wifi you can use is limited and unreliable. The games room has 5 old arcade games one of which was broken and another was damaged in a way that affects playability. The RV spaces are very small but ok for Vancouver. It is in a decent area and has a very nice pool but otherwise isn't very impressive. read more
