It was pretty easy to pick me out because I was the only guy but at no stage did I feel that way. Quite honestly, I was also so busy with the routine that the time flew by. Carmela took me thru the basics and helped me understand what I needed to do for each exercise. For those who have never tried pilates, please try it. Some of the exercises identified some areas of my body that need some serious work! That being said, she was clear on making sure that my form was correct and when I "cheated" by using other muscles, she corrected me. It was a blast and will be scheduling regular visits.

When you put a hold on your membership, even if you want a hold for a couple months, you will find a charge on your credit card. It's near impossible to get out of your contract without having to pay another month a membership fees you won't use. The booking system doesn't work properly so you end up paying $200 a month for eight classes, four of which I am able to use a month because the booking system doesn't let me use the class credits, then I miss out of booking the class. The class gets full, you go on the waiting list and never get in the class. Management will not let you use these credits the next month. It's a racket. Also, the five star review is by Athena the manager of Club Pilates.

I was surprised to see there wasn't a yelp location for Technique, but couldn't help but add one since this Studio is my favorite on Mercer Island. They offer pilates (group classes and personal training) as well as barre classes. Personally I have tried both types of group classes and have enjoyed a challenging, but fun workout experience. If you are debating I would suggest going for it - they even offer the first class for FREE. All the instructors are great and will customize even the class workouts to what your body can do/needs and the upbeat music and energy really holds you accountable so you aren't slacking (like I do when I try to workout from home and end up taking breaks or sitting down). The studio itself is located in a cute shopping center area with parking spaces in front that are usually available. Parking is free and pretty easy as well. For classes I would recommend checking out their website and booking online to make sure you have a space. Definitely a great place to workout at any starting level of fitness, highly recommend!!! Also, shout out to sheena who is my fav friday workout!

I feel stronger, more energetic, and I have even lost a little weight (miracles do happen, apparently). I've tried classes with all the instructors, and every one of them is fantastic. The workouts are very well balanced and thoughtfully structured - each class combines cardio, strength training, stretching, and static exercises, so your whole body gets attention instead of just one confused muscle group. The time flies by incredibly fast, and I always leave in a much better mood than when I arrived. Highly recommend this studio to anyone who wants effective workouts in a positive and motivating atmosphere.

There is a wide variety of classes so you can easily find one to suite your style. I love that they are family friendly and encourage you to attend a class with your teenager/young adult. They have a variety of workshops and have beginner classes. There is a water fountain to fill your water bottle and they rent yoga mats/towels. The locker room isn't huge, but there are two showers in the women's locker room and lockers inside. You must bring your own locks. Classes at times do fill up so definitely sign up and get there 5 min early or your spot might be given up. I love the heated yoga classes, the yoga body lab is a favorite of mine as well.

Most recently I started to check out their Intro to Meditation courses and I'm obsessed. They're free and typically around lunch time on the weekends. It's a good balance to have between some of the other classes I take. The staff here is really nice and helpful. They also have really cute swag for sale! I would suggest checking them out. Right now they have a $35 deal for new students where you get 2 weeks of unlimited classes! That's a bargain since 1 drop in class runs you $22.

By the way I was never contacted by the studio to say it was a mistake, or given any explanation.

I was then promptly ignored as other customers walked in the door and he started talking to them (despite the fact that I was standing right in front of the salesperson). I was actually interested in getting a new floor pump. I was waiting for the sales guy to stop even for just as second to say, "are you doing okay?", but nope. I guess I didn't rate for whatever reason. Perceived fitness level, income....? I checked out the floor pumps. They didn't seem to be particularly well made, although the Dual Charger gets good reviews online. No reaction from the sales person as he dealt with other people and ignored me. I heard guys in the back, service area, talking, talking, talking. Did the one sales guy holler to the back and get someone to come out since he apparently can only deal with one customer at a time? Nope. I started to make my way out but stopped to look at the shoes that had clearance signage, but couldn't actually get at them because they were blocked by multiples bikes still in boxes shoved up against the shoe display. One more chance for anyone in the store to try to sell me something. I didn't even get a "thanks for stopping in". This is a real shame. A Trek was the first "real" bike I bought with my own money as a teenager. I have fond memories of Trek. I'm just getting back into cycling again. I actually have money to spend at this stage of my life. The single most important thing you can do in retail is acknowledge and greet the customer. And as the saying goes, you only have one chance to make a first impression. I bought a pump elsewhere, as well as some jerseys and shorts. (Full disclosure: if I seem a little harsh, I worked in bicycle and outdoor retail for 10 years, as a tech, service manager and store manager. I used to be quite passionate about cycling, hence I have opinions.)

As I shared the serial number over the phone, the staff person was not able to locate it in the computer. The rationale was that if the bike fell between a timeframe of specific years there was no record. The associate appeared helpful and listed the colors of the bikes by year and suggested I go on eBay or another site I don't recall to look up the bike. Now, there's nothing wrong with the over the phone service and the staff seemed like they did their job. Having worked in customer service and sales, I've had associates take down my name and number, do some research, and locate the a skew and model. I've also had associates ask me if there was anything they could do to help further make the customer experience stand out? This could be, come in the shop. I can talk to you about the warranty to see if anything is covered, or feel free and send me pics via email to send to corporate. The funny thing is, recycled cycles pulled up the picture of the bike, eyeballed the year and gave me price of the worth in 5 minutes. Even though they didn't work for Trek they knew their bikes. As a potential Trek customer, I hope that staff are trained to know about the history of the products they are selling and not just the latest models. I hope this can be a learning opportunity at Trek to please try a little harder as this experience needs a tune up.

But the youngster who worked on the bike scarred the back fender, so the bike isn't mint any more, with a 1 by .5" scrape. He was very apologetic about it but geesh. The store gave me a $75 discount off the work and offered to take it to their paint shop, but I think I'll do the work. The bike is back in fine running order, but I don't think I'll be going back. There was a little girl and her dad buying a brand new Trek and although they remembered the water bottle, the salesperson did not recommend a lock. WTH?

This is an amazing, under-appreciated asset for the Mercer Island community…read more You don't have to be a horse owner to enjoy this -- you can take lessons, send your kid to one of the summer camps, rent or lease a part-interest in a horse if you get more serious, or just hang out on the bleachers and watch people ride. Our child started riding here as a little girl and it's a very safe, fun and pleasant place to spend time. It's run as a co-op, meaning that horse owners are responsible for the care, exercise, and maintenance of their horse (and stall). That keeps costs down, and also gives kids who aren't horse owners a chance to participate (exercising horses, getting part time jobs cleaning stalls, etc.). You'll know your kid is serious when she's standing in the rain on a winter night scooping up horse poop as part of the "deal" to keep taking riding lessons. The only real downside of this place is there is a l-o-n-g waiting list to get a stall in the barn. (Think years, not months). Through lessons, borrowing and leasing horses part time there are plenty of chances to ride...but actually securing a place to keep a horse if you own one requires lots of patience.
