This is a decent massage place, and they bill insurance for medical massage, which is great. It's a clean facility in a convenient location with friendly staff. That said, this is a medical service and tips should not be accepted, to align with all other professional medical services. And yet, you finish a massage and they're expecting a tip. Insurance isn't free, so the argument that it's a "free massage so we should tip" doesn't fly. Please, reconsider this and offer medical massage without accepting tips. That would be much more ethical. My insurance says it shouldn't be done (asking if we want to tip) but it happens. read more

This place is incredible. From the therapists, to the ambiance, to the feeling you have when you leave. It's one of he best clinics I've been to in my 40+years in receiving massage therapy. It's very hard to find therapists that can feel your body and know where the pain-points are just by touch. Many of the therapists here are very adept at this. They are also very good at hearing your ailments and suggesting options to relieve; options including bamboo, silicone and glass cupping, acupressure, etc. You also know a clinic is good when it's hard to get an appointment. Tuesday, February 18, I had an afternoon appointment for massage. I had been there last year, 2024, for twelve visits and been pleased with my experiences. I have chronic pain from my muscles tightening and not releasing the way they they should. Logan and I had worked together last year and he knew what I needed and gave a fantastic massage, that even days later I am still feeling the benefit from. When I walked out of 'The Garage Massage Therapy' on Tuesday I felt better than I could have expected, even after years of different treatments for chronic pain and knowing what to expect. Garage Massage is great! My friend started going here and recommended it to me, and I'd recommend to others as well! (Disclaimer: I've never gone anywhere else before coming here.) I've come maybe 5+ times now for post-natal massages and have had a great experience each time. Each time has been with different massage therapists too so I don't think you can go wrong with whoever you end up getting an appointment with! I do have to say it's quite pricey (I think $90 for an hour long massage?) but they accept insurance! It's pretty convenient actually, they offer to call and verify with your insurance to let you know how much is covered before you make your appointment. I honestly wouldn't go if I had to pay full price though - just wouldn't be able to justify it unless it was a rare/special occasion! Booking an appointment online is easy to do, and parking is easy too. It's located in kind of a random area in downtown Issaquah so free street parking is always available! The only downer is that appointments can be pretty limited if you don't book well in advance. I think they're expanding though so it may be easier in the future? Just plan ahead, and don't expect to be able to drop in or make an appointment for the next day. It's worth the wait though, I promise you won't be disappointed! read more

Very disappointed in their practice to make me give a credit card number over the phone before I can even get an appointment. This is a labor and industry claim which clearly they do not wish to honor. I find it discriminatory and also unfair to require financial information of my cc when I have a clear claim that is been ongoing. I will find a real clinical medical massage therapy place that isn't as "new" to labor and industry claims! It's just wrong! Edit one day later and after their response: Labor and Industries told me today to never give my credit information to any of the providers. It's a violation of their policy. They cover all the medical costs. Might want to check that for your business. If you deny service under the labor and industries treatment over this, it's discrimination. I'm glad I checked. Love the transparency! I saw Dan and instantly appreciated his soft nature and willingness to listen to my story of chronic pain. He knew exactly how to work the knots out of my overly tense shoulders and I left feeling so rejuvenated! I've been going to Garage Massage for quite awhile, since 2016 in fact! I typically see Caitlin but have heard good reviews from friends and family for the other therapists as well. Caitlin delivers an amazing massage and has helped me recover from a few injuries and some back issues. I usually leave feeling very relaxed, and sore muscles or tight spots are gone and melted away. It is very convenient to book online via the mindbody app, and they have openings on Sunday, and as late as 6:15pm, wich makes is really convenient to get one. I would give them 5 stars if I didn't have to interact with the receptionist. She's not friendly, she seem to have an attitude after tipping, and was rude and abrupt on the phone on another encounter. Instead of saying something professional like, 'ok, thanks bye', she said something along the lines of 'uh huh sure' and abruhung up. I prefer to do my bookings online to avoid her. Don't let this deter you. Everything else is great. Update** I appreciate them taking the feedback, and improving their customer service. I would have never known this clinic was in my neighborhood had I not found it on yelp... and I'm so glad I came in. Check in was easy, paperwork and policy was explained, lobby and general clinic had therapeutic and interesting decor, staff was very friendly, scheduling can be done online, and hallelujah, they take insurance! For my first appointment, I was able to see Cody and tbh, it was the best massage I think I have ever received. As a bodyworker myself, I can tell within seconds whether a person knows their way around anatomy, knows how to use their body to apply, adjust and sustain pressure and I was really impressed at how good he was at being in tune with how much pressure was needed in order to allow a release without mashing pain. Considering how messed up my body was, I was surprisingly not sore the next day and I attribute that to just the right amount of pressure, hydration and an epson salt bath to follow. I believe that they offer a discount for each new therapist you may see (not sure if this is a special or a normal thing here), but even so, prices for the quality, are reasonable. But the one down side to having such a great massage is that almost all therapist's schedules are quite booked out, even a few months in advance, so it can be challenging to get in. I have been to the Garage maybe half a dozen times now? I have never had a bad massage there. As I find the right therapist for me, I've been taking advantage of their discounted sessions with a select number of therapists (discount applied when it's your first time with the therapist). Sadly, I may not be using the special much anymore. I was massaged by Jennilee today and it was AMAZING. I booked a Swedish massage but told her I do have chronic shoulder knots I'd love worked on. She did such an amazing job of keeping the massage relaxing but working on those problem areas. I will be booking with her again in a few weeks and hopefully regularly. Everything ran on time, and the reception area was very comfortable to wait in. They even checked to see if my insurance policy would cover my massage - THAT is above and beyond in my book! When I saw the Yelp reviews for The Garage I decided to give them a try. What a great decision that turned out to be! I booked a same day session with Kelsey and was very impressed. The location is convenient, the ambiance is soothing and the staff is very helpful. Kelsey is an excellent masseuse: strong hands and able to sense how much pressure and work is needed on each particular area. By the end of the session I felt much better: pain was gone and I was more limber. I asked if they could check with my insurance provider to determine the number of sessions allowed under my plan and before the day ended, I had an e-mail with all the details. Very impressive! I got an appointment for a deep tissue massage with Cassie. When I checked in, they asked me for my insurance card to check if the massage was covered. I did pay out of pocket since my card didn't indicate any coverage. Cassie was nice and had a knack for the pressure points that feel great. She started with a quick hot stone massage followed by deep tissue at the areas I wanted her to focus on.She constantly kept checking with me if the pressure was ok. The room smelled lovely. They use these out of the world essential oils that make you feel relaxed in no time. The room was located outside (like a "garage" per se) and was kept sufficiently warm. Overall I loved the massage she gave me. I came out envigorated. The price point is a bit high - I was charged $90 without the tip which is fine once in a while but it can get too expensive very quickly. On enquiring, I found that they do offer first time special for $55 with select therapists that can decrease the cost significantly when you buy in bulk! You can also earn a free hour long massage every time you refer in 2 friends or family members! I am willing to give a shot to other massueuses next time I pay a visit. I have a long history of scoliosis and impinged nerves. I work in health care so I regularly am required to seek out body care professionals for clients with serious conditions. Personally, I've worked with numerous massage therapists, rolfers, and physical therapists to correct my own problems and Adrianne is by far the best I've worked with. With every visit I simply tell her what's wrong and she intuitively knows immediately what to address. Nerve pain and numbness is usually gone within the next day or so.
