My son is in the VPK program and LOVES it! He is the type of child that needs to stay busy. His teacher Mrs. Barker is very patient with him and is always coming up with ways to reinforce all of the positive things he does. The teachers are very hands on, playing with the kids on the playground and getting "dirty" with them. My son constantly comes home excited to share with me all of the things he has learned. Every Monday, his teacher sends home a summary of what the kids have been working on the past week. Sometimes she suggests things that parents can work on with their kids (ex: the kids are learning the Lord's Prayer this week). I also get emails from the school with their monthly newsletter and with any events that are coming up. One of my son's favorite things about the school is Ms. Nancy's music class. The kids pick instruments to play and learn songs. They also exercise to music and have Workout Wednesdays every week. I LOVE that the school follows a healthy eating program. The teachers encourage the parents to pack a healthy lunch. ALL of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The front desk staff always greets my family when we come in. They also have a great check in system that is very safe and fast. The School offers a before and after care program that is very inexpensive. They also offer extra days that the child can attend for a very reasonable price. We are so thankful for finding this VPK program. I am so happy with this school. My three-year old son started attending when he was about 19 months and our experience has been exceptional. His teachers have been so caring, patient and loving, and I have been amazed by some of the things he has learned even though he only attends a few days a week. His teachers are genuinely interested in his development, not only in the basic things he is learning (like washing his hands and learning colors), but they also encourage him in his social skills, like saying sorry, sharing and playing nice with his "friends". And, I really love the fact that he is learning Christian concepts. They pray before lunchtime, which further emphasizes what we are already teaching him at home. One of the things that I am most thankful for is the weekly newsletter that his teacher provides. She includes all of the activities that the class has been doing, and is sure to point out special achievements or neat things that each child has done that week. My son joined school 2 months later than rest of the kids. But he just fit in the class so well. He loves his class teacher and loves every little thing they do at school. I like the fact that they have a theme every week and activities are done based also on a bible verse. The classes are divided according to age group and the activities are all age appropriate. My son does extended care and I do not get to meet his class teacher,instead an extended care teacher when I pick him up. So the communication folder that is given to the kids are extremely helpful in being aware of day to day events, child's performance, concerns,progress or anything we would like to know. The teachers and staff are very friendly and helpful anytime we meet them. I chose this school based on reviews from other parents because we were new to this city. But I am glad I made the right choice, considering the flexibility of their program and the caring and positive atmosphere he is in each day. read more

Aloma Methodist Early Childhood Learning Center is a wonderful, Christ centered pre-school. My 8 year old son attended both pre-k 3 and pre-k 4. My 4 year old is currently enrolled. I, my- self attended the very same school in 1975. Times have changed, however the love of the Lord is still alive and well. The administrator, Barbara Twachtman (Mrs. T) and her staff are exceptionally talented, loving, and are filled with the joy of the Lord. This is evident in both their teaching and the expressions of our children. I would without pause recommend this school to any parent, grandparent, and family member searching for an exceptional early learning center. The education and Bible based teaching is beyond compare. My son started attending Aloma Methodist Early Childhood Learning Center several months ago. He was only 14 months old and I was nervous about him being watched by someone other than family. I was impressed with the size of the classrooms and playground areas and I quickly learned that he was going to be with family. His school family. His teachers have been the biggest blessings! He wakes up every morning and says "gotta go." He runs into school and is always giving his teachers hugs. This is a fantastic preschool and for VPK. My son went to VPK here last year and this year my 2 year old is there. They care so much for the children and will make necessary changes if they are needed. The teacher sends home weekly newsletters to inform the parents what they covered the week before. I like that I can count on knowing what is happening while in the care of another. My daughter will go to this school until she is ready for kindergarten and I am solo pleased about this. I can not say enough good things about this school! My daughter has been going there for about 8 months and we love it. Her teacher is so great and actually cares about her. The office staff and director are also so nice and helpful all the time. The class sizes are small and you can actually tell how excited the kids are, to get to school every morning. You see kids running back to hug their teachers goodbye at the end of the day. I am so blessed to have found such a wonderful place for my toddler! Our daughter has attended Aloma ECLC since she was 18 months old. She quickly grew very attached to her teacher and all of the staff at the school.
