Very confused as to why this place has bad reviews, from reading them it seems as if it was the same group of people writing the same thing. Happy to report this place was a blessing to our family, we experienced nothing but the best service and our son was treated with respect and love. He enjoyed going to school and we saw a beautiful shift in his behavior and development after just one week of going to this school. The staff has been here for many years and that's something I loved as many places I visited before making my decision had new members or people that weren't as qualified. This place ran like a well oiled machine and we never once had a covid scare while attending this school. They run a tight ship and do it well. Only reason we pulled our son out of this school is because we are moving a few hours away otherwise we would have kept him here until he grew out of it. Our son went here for about 3 months a few years back. They're not friendly to children with disabilities/delays. They claim to be before enrolling but teachers like Ms. Ana say that your child "has something wrong with them" and that they "don't come to work to deal with one child." Some of the staff are nice but they're clearly not equipped to deal with children with disabilities and shouldn't profess to be. Also - very bad experience with "assessments" and eventually leaving the daycare. read more

Central the cameras are great for me and my kid I work there and my kid went there we really miss going to Sunchild Academy

We did not have a good experience at this Daycare. Our son was in the Early Learners class. There were 3 regular teachers that were there almost everyday. Some helpers would also be there in the afternoons if one of the regular teachers was not there. One of the teachers Ana does not have patience. Everyday that we picked up our son from daycare she always had something negative to say about our son. He cried too much, he's a grumpy baby, he doesn't understand her, he doesn't talk he makes her job harder, he's not the only child in her class... these are just some of the things she would say. She even said to me that this daycare was not the right place for him because he can't speak. I spoke with the director a couple times and this teacher would not stop the discrimination against our son. The reason we decided to withdraw our son from Sunchild Academy was when I came to pick my son up after work and Ana said to me that my son had a "rough day" I asked her "what does a rough day mean to her?" Because this is something she said to us often when picking him up... She went on to say "He has been crying so much all day, he did not sleep during nap time, all he does is cry, he is not the only child in my class I can not only pay attention to him, he does not talk so I don't know what's wrong him, I am not a mind reader I can not read his mind, but something is wrong with him". This was it! This was the last straw. We could not allow the verbal abuse and discrimination to continue from her. I payed extra for the live camera feed and I saw my son sleeping that day, he is usually one of the first to go down for naptime. So she was lying to me. I left that day with tears in my eyes very upset, walked passed the director who did not even call me to see what had occurred. I had a much longer review but somehow it keeps getting removed. I posted it to their Facebook page and they took down their Facebook page. If you have questions you can ask me and I'll tell you everything that happened. Unless your child is the most obedient and perfect child, I wouldn't recommend this place. He was newly 2 years old when we enrolled him and had typical 2 year old behavior but according to Ana "something is wrong with him" Since taking him out, he has flourished, saying words and full sentences. He is a different happier child. Looks can be deceiving, even with cameras this lady would lie to me about my son, some of this staff should not be working with children because they do not have the love and patience to do so. I'm sharing our experience so no other child or family has to go through what we went through at this center. read more

My daughter attended Sunchild for VPK. She had Ms Vivian. I'm not sure if she is there anymore but she pushed the kids to learn and also showed she cared. My son did not go here he went to primrose down the street and it did not go as well for him. I wish I would have just put him in Sunchild. I appreciate our experience here. read more

This used to be my favorite Day Care when it was Kids R Kids many years ago, now some teachers are too young and Administration is very sweet but I wasn't happy with the center and just removed my child. They charge $5 a week for Watch Me Grow that is free at Any Kids R Kids center. read more

Do not bring your children here. Roberta Rivera is the most unprofessional director I've ever met in my life. These people do not care about your children. They recently had the Hand, Foot Mouth Disease and when informing that i would not be bringing my sick child to school she informed me that "Kids always get sick". I heard good things from this daycare and decided to enroll my child.Unfortunately if Ms Betty did not greet my child they would just wave there hand for the child to come in with an attitude as he is crying and would just let him cry. Ms. Betty was great but the other lady could be more maternal. My child started to hide his clothes in the morning and would start to cry before we got in the building for a few weeks....that was definitely a red flag. I took him out for that reason.My child did not do that in a previous daycare. We changed daycare to try and meet my child's need for more social play vs. parallel play. The staff in the front desk are not very friendly or welcoming. I expected more and I am very disappointed. read more

My daughter attended Sunchild from 3-5. She entered kindergarten well ahead of where she needed to be. She loved her time at Sunchild.

Anyone have any feedback on how they are handling children being out due to COVID-19 prevention recommendations?

Lasted 3 days, I could see how teachers walked by ignoring my 1 year old baby crying. He got to the point where of throwing up of so much crying. The worst is that I only found out that because he was wearing an old shirt they had extra because he used the other change of clothes I had taken to the daycare earlier the same day. No one called me to let me know and although I called they didn't say anything. I arrived there and another baby was crying and the teacher said don't bother he is a cryer!!! I got my son out asap. My son got hoarse of so much crying. The Director agreed with my complaints; however, is too late for me to trust that these ladies will do any good for my son!! 100% Dissatisfaction read more

Had my first visit/tour with my 11 month old baby boy. I am very impressed. The place smelled and looked clean and the staff were all friendly and engaging with the children. I didn't notice "young" staff, as the other reviewer mentioned earlier, which was a relief for me. I like to think My son seemed really excited and comfortable during our tour, with his small hellos to the babies and screeching noises he makes when he's really excited about something. I'm excited about this school and plan on keeping a spot open for my son when he reaches a year old. read more

My daughter is attending this daycare since she was 4 months old ( and she is almost 3.5 years old now). She loves it there, we love it there. Everything is about communication. If you don't like something , address it up front. They are great at accommodating kids and parents needs. Staff is great! Very understanding and supportive. read more

My daughter started at Sunchild at 3 months old. She has been there for almost a year and we could not ask for more. The staff is amazing - caring, friendly, loving, and stable. My daughter loves her teachers. Enrolling my daughter at Sunchild is the best decision we've made - our baby is happy and we have peace of mind. read more

I've never disliked a daycare as much as I dislike this one. I placed my child here for VPK and because it's literally 5 mins from my home I thought it would be great to have him there. I see the favoritism that they have for certain children. I can honestly say this place is not a welcoming place. I thought the last daycare my child went to was bad because all they spoke was Spanish but I have decided to return him there rather then continue to feel unwelcome in this daycare. It's not good to feel as though you and your child are outsiders in a place you are intrusting your child to be. I paid in advance and even still I was getting letters telling I owed money. Don't place your child or children in this daycare they have no vested interest in our children. It's all about the preferred children and the money in my opinion. read more
