Tacos are very good and highly recommend for events. My favorites are the Steak, Pork and chicken. The green sauce is my favorite but both sauces are very good. Tacos are pretty big and the set up was very nice!

I don't venture into Pilsen enough, and finding this taco truck was a gem. It's a lone food truck at the corner of the street with some people waiting for their food. What I like most is that you get big portions at $2.50 per taco (no additional tax added)! I got three tacos: steak, pork, and chicken. It comes with cilantro and onions by default, but I added lettuce and tomatoes also (which is why you can't see the taco meat in my picture at all). I would say the pork is the best one out of the three tacos. If I could do it over again, I would just get three pork tacos! The chicken was my least favorite since it lacked flavor. The steak was average. There are two types of sauces, a red, spicy one and green mild one. I like the green sauce more. Just a word of warning, the red sauce is SPICY. A little goes a long way. My taste buds went numb after having some. Maybe that's why the chicken tasted bland...? It's not the best tacos in the city, but the pork tacos are good and worth a visit if you're in the area!

Alo's Taco Truck was amazing!!!!! I can't recommend them highly enough! They are so nice, dependable and made my party so easy! They set everything up, left us some tacos and toppings, and cleaned everything up perfectly. The tacos were unbelievably delicious (I don't even really like tacos!), and it was super fun. They are outstanding!

Best tacos I ever had!!! Tacos only cost about $2.50 each and they have so much flavor packed into each one and is cooked to perfection. Love coming here on the weekends to enjoy tacos. Each taco is also stuffed with the meat its always overflowing. Too bad that they are only located at the corner of Ashland & 19th on the weekend.

Best tacos in Chicago! We're Sunday regulars for bomb $2.50 tacos. Even though there's no seating (cause duh, it's a food truck), we come for the best Al Pastor, Carne Assad, and lengua. Everything is juicy and fresh, and service is quick and friendly. Can't go wrong here. See you next Sunday!

Looked for a quick bite to eat and ran by this taco truck. Very nice and friendly service. Ordered an asada burrito ($7) with no beans and a pastor taco ($2.50). Be prepared for the sweats, because both are packed with tons of meat. The red and green sauce were on the spicier side and made my mouth burn , and had to substitute with the tapatio in my fridge. Burrito had meat, lettuce, cheese, cilantro. Overall, very good but a little oily for my liking (1 star off). Probably only going to come back after a night of drinking but overall positive experience.

Better than the one at Navy Pier where they overcharge and don't give you full bottles of beer when they advertise

La Cocina De Mama is one of the popular places to drink and eat along this particular stretch. Far from authentic. They focus more on look and taste. Came in and got seats at the bar. It's often crowded and this time was no exception. There was a wait for a table. Of course cocktails. We got a couple of these. It's about $13 for a margarita. The Cucumber Margarita is great stuff. It's about $12 for a burrito. Menu has a good amount to choose from. I got the Vegetariano Burrito. This has beans, cheese which I left off, lettuce, rice, and tomatoes. Filling. There's even more items if looking. Great stuff to drink and eat. It's located on 95th Street at Massasoit. There's a few things for vegetarians.

We arrived around 4 pm and there was about a 25 minute wait. It is cozy so there were people waiting outside. The decor is more modern than traditional. They have a bar and TVs. Staff are warm and friendly and our server was Dulce. It was a busy day yet she would periodically check in to see how we were doing. We ordered the table side guacamole. It was made fresh at our table and hubby added a little more salt to it. We were also served a small bowl of salsa. The chips are warm and fresh. Hubby ordered the combo fajitas and a strawberry margarita. I ordered the steak enchiladas rojas and a pina colada. Everything was seasoned well and we enjoyed our meals. Kudos to the bartender for making great drinks!

This isn't just plant-based food -- it's thoughtful, balanced, and crafted with real love. I had the fish tacos (yes, vegan -- and absolutely convincing), the corn ribs, mushroom sandwich, truffle fries, mushroom quesadilla, horchata, and Jamaica. Not one miss. Every single item was a hit. The flavors are layered without being heavy. Comforting without being greasy. Satisfying without the crash. You leave feeling full but light -- the kind of meal where your mouth, your stomach, and your health all say "thank you." If you go, honestly? Do yourself a favor: order a sandwich and a drink. I got the Fish Dinner Tacos ($25), and my husband got Flautas de Papa ($18). I was eyeballing their Pozole or Menudo but didn't really want to pay $22 for a bowl of soup. Everything on the menu just felt too expensive, especially for being in a casual atmosphere outside the city. Quesadilla La Reina del Sur has a plethora of vegan tacos you can get for like $4 each. I was in the mood for dessert, but even something as simple as 2 cookies with milk would be $24, so we went elsewhere. The food was fine, and the service was fairly attentive, but nothing blew me out of the water for these prices. They also added a 3.5% fee to the bill.

The chips and salsa were offered for free, and the salsa is tasty. For drinks, my partner ordered the Mexican Coke and I ordered Joe's Peach tea. I was happy to find out Joe's tea is made with sugar not High Fructos Corn Syrup. I wanted to try a shrimp taco, fish taco, and enchilada, while my partner wanted to try the birria and al pastor. So, I ordered the combo which comes with 1 taco (shrimp), 1 enchilada (cheese, verde, suiza), and 1 quesadilla (beef) and he ordered the 3 taco (tilapia, al pastor, and birria) dinner. He ate my quesadilla and I ate his fish taco. He absolutely loved the birria taco. He said it was different and had more spice in the consume than at other places. He also over the beef quesadilla. Unfortunately, he didn't taste any pineapple on the Al pastor, so that was his least favorite. I loved the shrimp taco. It had 4 large, well seasoned shrimp and three slices of avocado along with chipotle mayo, slaw, and ai squeezed lime over the top. I will definitely get this again. The tilapia was blackened, but didn't have as much flavor as the shrimp. The enchilada was okay. I want to try their red sauce next time. We also ordered the churro bite which were delicious. They come with chocolate, cajeta, and vanilla sauces in the side, and the individual churros are coated in cinnamon sugar. They were fresh and hot. Our waitress was very helpful and on top of things. She had perfect timing as well. The interior is well lit and beautifully decorated for Christmas. And don't miss the coat/purse hangers on the side of the booths. When I first saw the name Meshico, I didn't know it was more historically accurate for the Nahuatl pronunciation of Mexihco. But I appreciate that this place is named this, because it made me look it up, and ai learned something.
