Los comales will always be one of my fav Mexican spots. My mom wanted to come here for lunch so that we did! While driving there she told me that it used to be an old Dunkin Donuts and when she said that I wondered how the set up would be and the sizing. Upon arrival we found that out and it is a pretty small spot. 3-4 tables inside and 2 benches outside. The food definitely did what it needed to do though - as always. I ordered a steak burrito combo w beans & an horchata. My dad ordered a steak burrito alone. My mom ordered 3 tacos - steak, chorizo, al pastor. Every one enjoyed their meal (my dad did say his Jamaica was a bit sweet) + with how small the place was we ate quickly and got out of there. I would order to go here for sure. read more

Hubby was excited for me to try this place because his boss catered their lunch from here today. I cannot comment on the ambiance since we ordered from the drive-thru. The guy who took our order was very pleasant and patient with us as we were looking over the menu. I ordered the 4-steak combo meal which comes with a side and drink. I chose the chips and guacamole for the side, and horchata, for the drink. Hubby ordered a 1/2 gallon of horchata. As many of the patrons mentioned, the tacos are small, but they are very flavorful and good. My side and drink were just as good. We definitely will be back! read more

Our favorite Mexican take out is Los Comales hands down! We love it so much, we decided to order here and ask them to surprise us for our gender reveal- one dish if it's a girl, a different one if it was a boy. I will start with the food from this restaurant, tacos are a must from this location! Might be small but filling. Tacos are not greasy and very fresh. Also the horchata drink is just made to perfection. Service was fast and the ambiance of the restaurant is clean and calm. Also I wanted to thank the drive thru waitress that gave me a very delicious quesadilla de atole that she made, it was very delicious. I am definitely coming back to this location. read more

I love Los Comales. The range of reviews here would seem to indicate inconsistency, but everything I've eaten from here has been excellent. The best tacos I've ever eaten are Ruby's from Maxwell Market, but I haven't been to Maxwell in like 12 years so probably not getting those again. Los Comales is a really good alternative that's just a short drive from home. I like that they offer green and red sauce. Though I like the tacos I usually wind up with a chicken burrito. It's enough for me for most of the day and delicious. read more

I ordered food from this place every week I get three burritos. They give you two sauces and a packet of vegetables for each burrito last week ordered our usual and shorted us one sauce. No biggie took a picture of the sandwiches. Went there today. Ordered our usual. Tell the manager or the owner some guy I was short showed him the picture that was a short one. when I got my sandwiches I said is the extra one in there. that's when the attitude changed. He said you have your receipt. I said no I showed you some pictures he said so what show me receipt I said I don't have the receipt. He said it will cost you $.80. I said. I said Are you kidding me? Then he got the shitty attitude saying no receipt it'll cost you $.80 when I come in every week to get sandwiches and you're gonna bicker over one sauce. That may sound petty but seriously I got to produce a receipt after I showed the picture for one sauce his attitude to was bad. And I don't mean to swear but pretty much when I went to leave he had an attitude like I don't give a shit. He needs to really go to school on how to have manners towards a customer. read more

They would not honor my credit for a bad meal. Originally I called and they gave me a credit for 2 tacos a coworker ordered and my meal and said sorry, they are training a new cook. My name will be put on file for a credit. When I went to use my credit they couldn't find my name and said they through the names out after a month. I told them I was not told about the month expiration. They still wouldn't give me another meal. My coworker picked up her tacos last week and decided to call and tell them. They still wouldn't honor my credit. Also , we told the manager we are a neighboring business in walking distance. :( read more

When we first started to go to this restaurant (when they first opened) we really liked everything that we got. The prices were very good for what you got and the quality was exceptional. Within several months later they raised their prices a bit and we were kind of sad but we still Entertained the idea of going there since it was so good. After today We will never return there again. What we received was almost $40 of tacos that were not tacos but were "street tacos" $2.70 for one hand held street size taco that was about 2 inches long!! If you wanted cheese that was an extra, but unfortunately there was probably one piece of cheese on it. I spent over six dollars for two tacos and I can't even call them tacos they were taquitos - they were so small. We will never be returning here - nor will any of our friends or family members so if they want to continue on the way there they will be losing business and money!!!! There was only one person in the car line behind us and no one inside so maybe that's an indicator of where they're going....they should be embarrassed for making this change. read more

Been waiting for this location to open for awhile, since I'm a fan of other Los Comales locations. This place is a lot smaller and only has about ten tables to sit down at. Being brand new, this place is spotless. There is a limited amount of menu items and there is a large menu board behind the counter. Even though the price for each item is in large print, there are very small and hard to read upgrades for each item. So when you order a steak burrito there is a price bump for the steak. The first thing I noticed was that there is container of carrots and peppers on the table, is due to Covid or cost savings? Even though I told the cashier that the meal was for dine in, it was still thrown in a bag with no utensils. I don't like eating a burrito like a hot dog, but rather off a plate with a fork and knife. So of course half way through eating my burrito it started to come apart making a mess. The one good thing was that the service was very quick and the food was piping hot. Word to the wise. since the windows face to the West, the sun in the afternoon can be a killer. read more

My family loves this place. We usually get the Al Pastor tacos trays with Horchata or Jamaica drink. The jug drink comes with the taco tray. The taco trays are not just a good value, they are delicious and consistent. My son likes to comment on how this place has never let us down. Horrible place! Horrible attitude from the snotty girls working there. The food was horrible no taste, all bland from the tacos to the salsa plus they wanna charge everything even the fking lemons. This one bitch working there too pissed me off talking shit about how I didn't even leave a tip, why would I leave a tip when the bitches don't come to serve u over at the table and we also left the table clean ‍ and still wanted like a $20 tip for nothing. Absolutely dreadful, over priced, underwhelming portions & low quality steak. Let's see, I ordered the steak burrito, everything was extra (annoying), lack of meat, mostly chewy fat, grizzle, tasteless, raw tortilla & tasteless canned beans. The chips tasted out of a bag from a gas station & the salsa was ok. As for the tacos, they were about 2 inches long. Everything was extra, total rip off. I could have eaten a half dozen as an appetizer. The prices seemed ok when they opened, however, they've since raised the prices, cut short on both quality & quantity. I didn't eat inside, the drive thru service was ok. Overall, I'm not going back. There are much better burritos/tacos. I'd give my experience 1/5 *. read more

Will not be coming back to this Comales. We walked in and the person in the counter just stood there looking blankly into space. When I got my food, I noticed he took my order wrong . I didn't return it just decided to keep the extra food they charged me for. They also even charged for limes I asked for to put on my tacos. Really?? Seriously the best steak tacos! The service was great too! We are a family of 4 and we did a tray of 10 tacos (all toppings are on the side such as cilantro, onion, sauce) and it comes with this huge drink! We did horchata. We also tried 2 additional carnitas tacos which was great too. The tacos are relatively smaller than usual but they do justice. I will definitely be ordering a lot more! read more

The service as great the girls at the front counter are very attentive and the music was great meaning the music that was playing while I waited for my food and I ate there as well. Now the $14 burrito plate oh my god....the burrito looked like a hot dog....I myself don't like tomato or lettuce on my burrito so I guess 75% of the burrito is lettuce and tomato and the other 25% percent is meat, beans, avocado, cheese and cream. I know the economy is bad and prices are high but come on don't sell burritos stick to tacos and Fortas not happy at all, you want a burrito don't order from here stay away. read more

Most about everything, these are not the best tacos we have ever eaten. Maybe because we are Mexicans, we have different taste of those not Mexican. The " tacos" are very mediocre. Prepared and served with nothing hut the basics. Taquerias in Mexico are shows, who prepares the best tacos in many different styles. And the best show, from cutting the meat to preparing the fabulous tacos. Los comales are ugly places, dark and poorly maintained. The employees are friends of friends, etc. who spent more time gossiping, than taking. Are of their tables. The containers of the fresh prepared chilies, are filty and grease to touch...enough, never would I eat another taco in any of their establishments. read more

Very upset with myself for waiting so long to try this place because of reading the reviews. Los Comales is one of my favorite places in the city and I was so excited to see them moving out south. After reading reviews, I decided not to waste my money. The other day decided to try it and Oh My God, I was so mad I didn't go there earlier. Everything we had from there was delicious..tacos, rice & beans, salsa, quacamole, and horchata....Everything is delicious and the prices were not any different then all the other mexican places in town. I've been to this location 4 times since my first visit 3 months ago. Great service amazing food I love their taco dinner and tortas. Out of all the other taquerias in the area this one is the best. Only issue in the drive thru is other customers don't move up recommend using two spaces up front for customers waiting. read more

I ordered the Chicken Burrito with the marinated or what they call "adobado", chicken which was delicious! It sure beats plain chicken which can be dry if not using salsa. The size was perfect for the price. And you can't beat using the drive-thru instead of having to leave one's car in bad weather! This is now my favorite Mexican Taqueria in SW suburbs! Not a real Los Comales. Save your money and go to a real Mexican restaurant. If you really want los Comales then go to the city. Tacos had no flavor. You have to pay extra for everything. Carrots,cauliflower, jalapeños... all costa extra and you only get tiny bags. You don't get chips and salsa to your table. Also, costs extra. Even if you say your dining in your food comes in To go bags. I do not recommend if you're looking for somewhere to sit down and eat with your family. Won't be coming here again. read more

I just had the worst pollo asado burrito ever. The chicken was hard as a rock & could only take a few bites. The tortilla was on the edge of being stale. It was so bad that I didn't even want to go back & get a new burrito or try something else. read more

I give it one star because I will never go back there. Ordered a steak torta and asked to add grilled onions to it. Was told they could not do that, but for $2.99, $3.10 with tax, they could give me a side. Okay, thats fine. It's my first time here, so it may be good and received grilled green onions on the stem. Asked for 2 sides of sour cream, I paid 50 cents per packet of pasteurized sour cream i received. I ordered a marinated chicken taco. Chicken did not taste like it was marinated and was smaller than a street taco in my opinion. (How's that even possible?) Ordered some chips and salsa. Not good, taste like they're store bought, and are very greasy. Oh yea..the steak essentially had no flavor to it as well. Would not recommend. read more

very good and authenticate Mexican food. this is a new location for a chain of restaurants, and luckily close to home. had the Al Pastor and it's the best I've had! Small inside, but the have a drive through and do great take out service. love the grilled onions and really flavorful refried beans. they also offer authentic carnitas by the pound. a must try! read more
