Based on reviews we stopped in for a quick lunch. The decor was so cute, great ambiance! I love that you can see what's going on in the kitchen, and the staff was so friendly. We were very impressed with the food, my husband is pretty picky when it comes to his burritos, and he said he'd go back for that one. Overall, a great place that we look forward to eating at again!

Good authentic Mexican food and very friendly family atmosphere. The meat is well seasoned and would definitely go back again. They also have a lunch special too.

WOW - who knew the BEST Mexican food was hiding in Oak Lawn? The complimentary chips and salsa were served warmed and totally on point. The strawberry margaritas ($11.99) were INSANE, and made with fresh strawberry puree - my boyfriend said it was the best strawberry margarita he had ever had. And don't even get me started on the guacamole ($5.99 for a side, $11.99 for tableside made) - they hook you UP with a massive portion that's super fresh. The Burrito Cocina de Mama (steak burrito with chili relleno) ($13.99) is a total game-changer. This thing was HUGE and cooked perfectly - crispy on the outside, packed with cheese, beans, steak, and chili poblano. The staff was super polite, and the restaurant has this cute vibe with real candles that make it feel way more special than just another spot in a strip mall. Definitely not your average Mexican joint. If you're in Oak Lawn and craving some legit Mexican food, this place is 100% worth checking out.

The food was delicious, the ambiance & service was amazing. I love that this is a family owned business because you can tell how much thru care for their business to thrive. They were all so sweet and recommended great dishes. The table side guacamole and purse drink are a must!

My partner's friend actually recommended that we try La Cocina De Mama on a day we were craving Mexican food so we did and we really enjoyed ourselves. We started off with their camarones la cocina de mama which was shrimped wrapped with bacon and I loveeeed it! So delicious. I've never tried bacon and shrimp that way before so it was life changing for me. We also shared a fajita with the steak, shrimp, and chicken breast combination and I'm glad we did because it was HUGE (we ended up taking some of it home). The fajitas were very flavorful and filling. Service was amazing. Our server was super accommodating with us. We didn't mind the wobbly table but he had someone fix it for us when he noticed and I thought that was very sweet. The price point was higher than I thought but considering the portion sizes and good service I think it's reasonable.

I stumbled upon this restaurant while searching on Google "restaurants in Oak Lawn". As many times as I've visited the area, I've totally missed this restaurant. I asked one of the owners how long had they've been there. He said it had been 1 1/2 years. Well I'm definitely going to visit again. The food and service were both really good. They have a bar that has a daily happy hour from 10:30am - 4pm. There's also two all-gender restrooms too. Back to the food, the husband and I enjoyed everything on our lunch date. We had chips and salsa, which were fresh and hot with a homemade salsa. I got a pineapple mojito. This wasn't on the happy hour, but that's okay, the drink prices weren't bad at all. For the appetizer, we tried the shrimp which were stuffed with chihuahua cheese and wrapped in bacon with a chipotle aioli. My husband also got a steak gordita which he enjoyed. For the entree I got the steak, chicken and shrimp fajitas with rice and beans. The hubby got the chicken enchiladas. For dessert we enjoyed some fried ice cream. We enjoyed everything, definitely a nice place to visit again.

I came here Saturday with my sisters and it was recommended to her. So it was the first time for everyone. The customer service was amazing from being greeted at the door to being seated. The ambiance was nice there was a nice vibe. The decor is subtle with pops of color. The plating gives you a fine dining experience without the price. The food was and is amazing. It's o amazing I went back on Monday by myself for lunch. On Saturday I had a steak torta with beans and rice with a steak taco. The steak is seasoned and char-grilled. The torta was good the bread was toasted and soft at the same time. It was good all the way to the last bite. Everything was made to order. All food comes out piping hot! On Monday I came and had steak Gorditas and a steak taco! Everything was just as amazing as it was on Saturday! They have a full bar! They have Happy Hour from 10:30 am- 4 pm which consists of $7.99 Margaritas $7.99 Michelle's $5.99 Candy shots $5.99 Cloud Bombs It's a small place that can accommodate a group. But it's perfect for your small group of friends or family. The owner comes around and speaks to all! Just a cool place, with good food, drinks, and awesome vibe!

A delightful experience! Friendly staff, drinks and food were delicious, with good portions- Definitely coming back. I had the Hawaiian tostadas which was lovely. The mango and shrimp combined perfectly in each bite with my pineapple margarita. My company had the lemon drop and couldn't stop complimenting the bartender. She was so kind and attentive- can't recommend enough.

Food is good the only downside was the guacamole. Service was decent and the place was clean and decorated nicely.

Everything is decorated beautifully - it feels more like you're downtown than if you were in Evergreen Park. The food is absolutely amazing - I love their shrimp tapas. From the empanada to the tacos, I haven't eaten anything yet that wasn't worth going back for. The service is outstanding, and Ramon may be nicest human being I've ever met in the industry. Perfect for a date night or a group outing, I couldn't recommend Mi Amor enough.

Service 5 Stars So…read morelet me start by applauding the manager for outstanding customer service--1) The willingness to override a hostess who refused a request for three adult couples who in advance requested separate checks (clearly professionals not the types that haggle about tips--smh) , and 2) sending the magician Michael to our table after we ate for a demonstration of his tremendous talents. Kudos Ramon! I also acknowledge the tremendous service from our main waiter Jose. Atmosphere 5 Stars So we sat on the patio which was enclosed and heated with an outdoor propane heat lamp. IT WAS A PERFECT SETTING for our annual couples dinner. The music was not as loud as in the main dining room and it was more illuminated--exactly the atmosphere desired for conversation with friends while breaking bread. Food = PERFECTION! We started with three delicious appetizers - 1) Patatas Bravas: Spicy potato bites with creamy guajillo aioli. The potatoes were a 3 out of 10 on the heat meter, but the aioli had kick! 2) Guacamole: Onion, serrano, cilantro, lime juice, minced garlic - Topped with Pico De Gallo - Served with homemade chips. 3) Salsa Trio: Creamy Salsa Verde, Molcajete Salsa Roja, Pico de Gallo served with Homemade chips. One friend ordered the Baja Tacos - Creamy Coleslaw, Beer battered White fish, Chipotle Aioli with a side of Buttered White Rice. His plate was empty in no time and he expressed his pleasure with the dish. Two in our dinner party had the Salmon Al Carbon - 12Hour Marinated spice rub 8oz Salmon fillet al Carbon with a side of Buttered White Rice with the skin removed and crisped on the side. My wife who I expected would only eat a few bites actually consumed almost the entire piece of salmon, and my dear friend ate her entire dish! Another ordered the "Camarones A La Diabla" - 6 Jumbo Shrimp sauteed with minced garlic and Diablo Sauce served with a side of Buttered White Rice. Another empty plate. (There is a theme developing here). Finally, I had the "Chuletas De Cordero" - Lamb Chops Marinated With Herbs & Spices. Served Over Creamy Mashed Potato Puree, Alongside a delicious Chimichurri & Rich savory Gravy. I ate everything on that plate!!!! The chef was accommodating and added spinach to the plate. My friend's wife ordered a "Special" -- A Seafood Medley Pasta in a Marinara Sauce Shrimp, Calamari & Mussels if a rich pasta sauce with toasted baguettes prepared perfectly to order--I'm certain because my friend has a crustacean allergy so she ordered the dish without the shrimp and it was obvious when she didn't have an allergic reaction that the dish was freshly prepared and they didn't simply remove the shrimp. It also must have been delicious because the bowl was empty! She also ordered a side of Mexican Street Corn (Corn, butter, mayo, cotija chees, & chile powder). Yes there was room for desserts, so I ordered the Dessert Sampler for us to share - Tres Leches, a Delicate Layers Of Mexican Coffee Soaked Galletas Marias & Creamy Mascarpone; Tiramisu composed of Delicate Layers Of Mexican Coffee Soaked Galletas Marias & Creamy Mascarpone, and ordinarily a Creme Brûlée but they were out and substituted Churros-Freshly Fried, Rolled In Cinnamon Sugar Served With Dulce De Leche for the unavailable Creme Brûlée which was disappointing). My buddy l's wife had the Dessert Special -- Banana Bread Putting with caramel drizzle and vanilla bean ice cream. I had to taste all four desserts but couldn't pick a favorite because they were all EXCELLENT! 5 STAR EXPERIENCE IN THIS HIDDEN GEM!!!!
