The hardest part was actually finding your way out, and we did this during the day, I have a hunch that the real fun is at night. They have flashlights for rent, and on top of finding the stamps, I think it gets pretty spooky in there. The kids were loving the haunted hayrides during the daylight though, so they seemed to have found a good balance between frightening and fun. They had little fair games, pumpkins for carving and your typical concessions-the corn sling shot was the best...and we were lucky enough to be there for a zombie flash mob done by what must have been an all ages dance class, very cute. Not a lot for the adults to do/look at while the kids are running around except sit by the fire pit and sip cider, but there are worse things!

The wine tasting was nice. With large parties you are given a flight to try. No need to stand in the tasting room. I liked several of the flavors. You really get to enjoy an immersive, interactive experience on the farm. There is something for everyone, from interactive gardens and live animals. The best for a cute little DIY wine tasting. You can bring your own charcuterie platters, which is what we did to go along with our tastings. They have tasting room called the Purple Wolf Vineyard where you can purchase your portable tastings, wine, beer and slushy flights . I would definitely return again, great place to host a cute birthday event, with your friends. They also have a really nice gift shop as well.

A delicious restaurant, a fantastic market, a dairy that makes phenomenal milk and a place for amazing events like the fall festival and events with Santa. They even have special events where groups (and often the general public) can sign up for a tour where you get to learn about their dairy operations and even milk a cow! When you visit in the fall, they have a lot of great themed decorations (as well as activities that you can pay to be a part of). But you can enjoy the festive vibes and decor without doing the whole experience if you are short on time or cash. Their food is delicious! The best way to describe it is homemade comfort food! The friendly staff is knowledgeable and will answer any questions you might have about what certain things are or about ingredients. You can also eat fairly affordably, especially for the portion sizes and homemade, quality ingredients. The shop has a variety of souvenir type items (shirts, magnets, mugs, stuffed animals) but also local products like cheese and candy. They also have bakery items and tasty ice cream. Worth a trip for a delicious meal and fun farm experience!

We were away from home and had just eaten at another restaurant, so we purchased only two small things--a brookie (a chocolate-chip cookie with a brownie inside) and a small cherry pie. The total price was $11. On the next day, we ate the brookie and the cherry pie at home. They tasted pretty good. A friend asked me if I would like to go out to get some berries. We got there after berry picking time for the day, which closed around 2 PM, but there was still plenty of time to buy berries in their market, freshly picked by their workers, and enjoy other fun things at the farm! We fed the goats, who were the sweetest, tamest goats I have ever met. (Frankly, they completely changed my opinion about goats, with which I have had some unpleasant memories in the past.) You can pay a quarter for some food and feed it to them by hand, and not a single one took it from me anything less than gently. There is also a super cute feature where you can send some food up to goats standing at the top of the pen via a pulley system. There were several baby goats here when we visited and they were ridiculously adorable. From there it was a stop at the café window where we ordered strawberry lemonade slushies that were an absolute delight. It was late in the day and they were out of several of the food offerings; I was told by my friend that the hot pretzel is fantastic, but didn't get to find out. So I went with some freshly made donuts, and it was only a few dollars for half a dozen blueberry donuts. They are wonderful eaten fresh just like this, but when you take them home you can heat them up for 10 seconds to get that just-out-of-the-oven taste. Finally we stopped in the shop which is full of all kinds of home, pantry and fresh food items. I came home with a pint of raspberries, a big bunch of strawberries (last of the season!), jars of pickled beets and bread and butter pickles, and a block of baby Swiss cheese. Everything has been absolutely fantastic and it would be easy to go absolutely wild in this store. Lots of events here during different seasons, especially apple and pumpkin season in fall which is their busiest time. After that they close for the year at Halloween. Come out and pick some berries or fresh lavender here this summer! It's a local gem.

But between the hiking trails and finding Summer Smiles Honey Farm the weekend was a blast. Possibly not romantic but a really great time. I was searching for Honey Farms in the area to pick up some local honey. When I found this Farm I saw that it was run by two women and I knew that I had to go there. Even though their hours that they were closed on Sunday I sent them a text just hoping that maybe for Memorial Day weekend they had different hours. I was pleasantly surprised, actually ecstatic, when I got a text back inviting us to the farm. Not only are they a honey farm they also run Airbnb. So if you're looking for a good time you can always rent out one of the air B&B rooms and then order their homemade food that is made in their kitchen on the farm. Honestly can you think of anything better than waking up and eating food that you were looking at or you can walk through. This was a great find. We also learn that they do pizza in their pizza oven that's outside, and music. I honestly cannot wait to go back. I purchase some honey, some bread, some eggs, and some of their butter. We then took a walk on the property with the dog and ended up in the barn meeting the rescued goats, pigs, and cow. Honestly it was great. Darci one of the owners, who showed us around, was absolutely wonderful. She was so warm and friendly and allowed us to see how she runs the farm all from a text message request to buy honey. That was the best part. Not only did she open up shop for us she talked to us for at least an hour and allowed us around the property to see how she runs the place. It was great. If you are looking for a place to stay while in Somerset stay here. They have four Airbnb rooms that look so fun and the menu that they cook up in their kitchen looks great. Just a sample the bread and the butter with some of that honey, yum yum. I can't imagine that anything that she cooks would taste bad. Try it out if you're around the area. You will not regret it.

My kids devoured the cheese pizzas and the grown ups loved our pie with foraged mushrooms and homemade sausage. My salad with goat cheese and pickled beets was delightful. We found that this farm fit the bill, with different pick-your-own options depending on season. Apple season had just started, so we headed on over. We first went into the small shop, where we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful young man. He explained how to determine which fruit was ready for picking, and sent us off with our bags to fill. The rows are well-marked, and I was thrilled to see that my favorite apple -- honey crisps -- were ripe and ready for picking. The farm has a large variety of apples -- golden delicious, gala, sweet surprise, ambrosia, etc. -- though not all were yet ripe. The trees were producing a lot of fruit, all of which was easy to reach, so our bags were filled in no time. We returned to the market, where we purchased quite a lot of additional fruits (peaches) and vegetables (okra, giant Marconi peppers, sweet banana peppers, green onions, and eggplant). They also sell other farm-fresh produce and eggs. There are also handmade wooden ornaments for sale. We didn't taste our haul until returning home -- both the peaches and apples taste amazing. Crisp and sweet. Fresh off the tree DOES make a difference! We haven't tasted the vegetables yet. -5-stars for food quality. -5 stars for staff. The gentleman in the store was very engaging, patiently answering a ton of our questions about the farm and its products. -5 stars for value. The prices are competitive with local grocery stores, but you're getting fresher products. -1 star for location. LOL. The farm is two hours away from our home! I wish it were closer to us.
