    Feeding alpacas!
    Jeff P.

What an amazing experience to see and pet alpacas! Truly a local gem! My wife and I took our 2-year old son to see the alpacas on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Sue was extremely welcoming and went above and beyond to provide our son with opportunities to interact with the animals. Sue was extremely knowledgeable and shared all kinds of interesting facts about alpacas. "Enjoyed" is probably not strong enough to describe how much our son liked petting the animals. His favorite was probably holding their grain bucket and feeding the alpacas some treats. Sue even has a small store that sell items made with alpaca wool! Note: I recommend calling ahead of time before making the trip to make sure it is a good time to visit.

so much fun and the alpacas were super cute. Definitely recommend checking it out. Worth going.

This was the most amazing experience! I called on Thursday morning to schedule our visit for Sunday, 3/21/21. It was just myself, my sister, and the owner. She taught us so much about alpacas. We got to feed them, too! If you get a chance, visit this alpaca farm and don't forget to treat yourself to something beautiful from the gift shop before leaving!

Getting up close and personal with these beautiful creatures!

Who knew such an amazing place was so close to DC! Just 30 minutes outside the city, this hidden gem of a place hosts over 40 alpacas that are just some of the cutest creatures you'll ever see. Sue and Charles are wonderful hosts and will provide a thorough and interactive tour. We were able to get up close and personal with the alpacas, feed them, feel their fiber, and take copious amounts of selfies. There is also a store on the property where you can purchase hats, scarves, and even raw fiber to take home as a memento. If you visit in late April, you can even join Alpaca Lane for their annual shearing day and watch as the coats of fiber are sheared off the alpacas. You won't regret your trip to Alpaca Lane Criations! They even host birthday parties for the animal enthusiasts in your life!

Sue, the owner, could not have been nicer - she greeted me at my car and offered to introduce me to the alpacas.

Absolutely Unprofessional and Unreliable -- Do Not Trust This Company With Your Event…read more I hired this petting zoo company twice for my daughter's birthday parties -- and both times were an absolute disaster. The first time (my daughter's 1st birthday), I had booked well in advance, paid the deposit, and confirmed the specific animals we wanted -- including a pony I paid extra for. On the day of the party, they were a no-show. I called them in a panic, only to be told they forgot to add me to their schedule. Hours later, the owner showed up with fewer animals than promised -- and no pony. We asked for a fair discount due to the lateness and missing animals, but the owner was incredibly unwilling to take responsibility and only reduced the price by a minimal amount. While the kids enjoyed the animals that did show up, the stress they caused was unforgettable. Against my better judgment, I gave them a second chance for my daughter's 2nd birthday. That was a huge mistake. On the day of the event, they canceled last minute, claiming they were stuck in traffic and chose to go to another event instead of ours. I was devastated. After numerous calls, I finally reached their assistant, who kindly offered to come out herself with a few animals. But when she arrived, she told us her manager refused to let her unload the animals until we paid the full balance -- despite the cancellation, the smaller selection of animals, and once again no pony. This company is completely unreliable, disorganized, and worst of all -- unapologetically unprofessional. The owner refuses to take accountability for her repeated mistakes, shows no flexibility or empathy, and prioritizes money over integrity. Save yourself the heartbreak and look elsewhere -- your child's special day deserves better.

Reston has a zoo?!?!?!?!…read more I love it! I'm from southern California. I've been to the LA Zoo. And I have to say that this small zoo was better! Too many animals to name. The safari is really cool. You get to pet the animals. They look happy and well cared for. Because it's a small zoo, parking is tough and it can be a maze to get through traffic. The staff here is wonderful. You can cover all ground within an hour. But it's worth the ticket price. Exotic you're local. I enjoyed my visit. I went twice so I can enjoy the safari without worrying about time. Stop by, support and check it out. Thank you for a great visit.

We brought our sister for her birthday, so she could play with Glenn, the baby capybara (he looked more like pre-K to me than a baby) but whatever! She had fun feeding him!! She also got to hold the baby kangaroo Margo (named after the Australian actress Margo Robbie) and feed her! I think she enjoyed the interaction with Margo more than with Glenn, because Glenn was a bit skittish! The animals, particularly the capuchin monkeys, seemed very playful and attention seeking! As soon as we came up to their abode, they started swinging and talking and doing all manner of somersaults!! I felt sad when we left because they seemed to look dejected after all the attention we gave them. They are such fascinating and emotive creatures! You just fall in love with them!! The leopards and their cubs were exquisite!! I could just sit and watch them and the capuchin monkeys all day long! We saw the goats, the sloths, the bison, the deer, the kangaroos, and the very strange axolotl and mud puppies! After roaming the zoo, we hopped in our car and drove through the safari. It was pouring rain and many of the animals took shelter in the stalls. They were so cute, all lined up as if they were about to board the ark!! I don't blame them!! It was such a wet and miserable day but the animals made it worth the trek out!! Highly recommend this place rain OR shine !! The animals are so beautiful and amazing!!!
