He normally didn't like to take photos, so we couldn't find any good photos and had to ask for a professional photographer's help. I sent a request via Yelp to multiple photo studios, and Alpha 1 was one of the vendors who responded timely. The quoted price was also quite reasonable among all the estimates I had received. Besides, Alpha 1 was able to fit us into their schedule within a short timeline. That's why we chose Alpha 1. There were one big studio and one small studio. We used the big one. There was also a corner with a big mirror and all the hair styling products in case you need to adjust your hair styles. Sebastian was a great photographer to work with. He made the photo session so fun and my nervous teen son was able to smile in the photos. Originally we were planning to get 2 photos only for the concert program purpose, but when we saw the photo proof, we had a hard time to select, not because we couldn't find any good one, rather there were too many good photos that we couldn't decide which one. We ended up selecting 10 photos. Every photo was so good that it was difficult to choose. But we can't afford buying all the photos, so we just picked 10 of them. She was quick with the photos while paying attention to what we wore, how we looked, and all the myriad of requirements with the passport photos. Photos took 1 hour to print and we went out to lunch and they were ready when we were back. These guys are amazing! We went for US Passport photos for newborn and adults and were done within 30 mins! For our little one, they kept him in a cushioned white soft clothed seat and took the picture. It felt safe and comfortable to see them take care of the Newborn while taking the pic. Quality! Friendly! a little bit more pricey than your typically Walgreens but SO WORTH IT! They have a mirror station to double check yourself before sitting down and taking the picture and you'll have to wait 45 mins for the photos but it's close to food/markets so the wait is easy. Probably the best passport photos I've ever had. And such lovely owners. I brought my young child and they were able to get the child to look the right place. One note - the photos aren't instant. It takes usually about 45 minutes to process so come in, take the photos, then head to Fred Meyer or Trader Joe's, go shopping and swing by when you're done. read more

Fast service, but after 40 min wait, these photos turned out to be the ugliest passport photos, hands down. He took so many shots, one would think he was trying to select the best. I'll have to find another photographer. Funny thing is they ask you to fill out the visitors log. I'm not really sure why. I could have gotten the same "quality" ugly photos cheap @ Walgreens. When I did an internet search for Passport photo near Bellevue, seem like this is the one many people go. They change $26 for 2 passport pictures, where at AAA just a few blocks away, only cost $13. This place is overpriced and photos take minimal of 45 minutes to be ready. My husband needs a couple of passport style photos to apply an international driver's permit/license. We just learned that AAA does it all, and much faster (the photos were ready within 5 minutes) and way more reasonable cost (for 2 tiny usually "ugly" pictures). read more

Found Alpha 1 through Yelp after taking a particularly hideous passport photo at another photography store. This "before" photo was after two tries! I was livid that it was SO bad, and not color corrected and was NOT going to tolerate that being my ID photo for the next 10 years! I called Alpha 1 and was graciously told they take walk-ins so I zipped right over. Sebastian was a pro and helped me get some better angles--I do have them, they're just not easy. I had a fresh haircut and decent makeup on for this. Price also included a bit of retouching to color correct my skin tone. See the difference???? I'll recommend Alpha 1 for passports for sure but also for their other services because they clearly care you don't look like a troll. read more

The photographer knew exactly what dimensions to use and stamped the back of one of my photos with the correct info, according to the application requirements. I still use Alpha 1 for all my photo needs - just recently went for some photos for a Visa application, and as usual, was greeted warmly, and managed to get my photos taken immediately. Came back about an hour later and the photos were meticulously printed. I believe you can get both a physical and digital copy of the pictures. The prices are really not bad for the area, and given the quality and attention they give you based on the type of photos you want, it's worth it! They are a small family business with a big heart! They did a fantastic job with my passport photos! She really took her time to make sure my head tilted the right. The photo angles were much better than any I've taken at Walgreens or Costco and no weird shadows!
