Taste Of Mediterranean - Gyro platter $13.99

I saw the Instagram promo pop up so I decided to give it a try. On their Instagram it's indicated…read morethat platters were $9.99. When I arrived it was a promotional pricing on Instagram so it was in fact 13.99 with the 30% off giving the 9.99 before tax price. So I just felt duped because I was looking forward to a $7 range meal item. I ordered two greek and two chicken souvlaki option. The meal comes with some tomato based potato, rice, salad and the protein. The tomato based potato is extremely salty. The rice was uncle Ben's rice on salt steroids- I couldn't taste the rice, it was just like I was eating a box of salt. The chicken was raw and overly salty- everyone threw it out. The gyro was dry, cold and overly salty- everyone threw it out. Just not edible. The salad was not bad. So I paid $12 x4 in total for a small salad because the food was just too salty. Oh yes order comes with a bread- it's stale. The location is in the front of the plaza, there's about 5 people putting orders through. Give it a try if you want to shoot your blood pressure up. :) Update: I did report to the restaurant that they were serving raw chicken kabob, at the time, they were still serving the menu item and still open. I requested for a resolution- they provided me a refund, but still remained open to receive orders. :/. I had hoped they would pull the menu items off or temporarily close while they resolved the food handling problems.

The dips were all delicious and rich, and the pita was fresh and warm. The garlic aioli was also strong and creamy. The atmosphere was very family friendly with an almost cafeteria-like feel. Very casual and comfortable environment, with fast and easy service. The washrooms also surprised me with tampons and pads for anyone who needed one. All in all, food was authentic, delicious, and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.

I remember trying it (takeout) years ago but this is the first time I came in for dine-in. I love the cozy interiors and aesthetics. Decor is nice especially the booth seatings. Menu has a wide variety of options to choose from, but we opted for the family platter since it seemed like the best option for sharing. Portion was quite generous and a decent amount to share. We got the BBQ chicken ($74.99) which came with either rice or fries (or you could do half/half), salad of your choice (we opted for fattoush), 2 dips of your choice (we chose baba ghanoush & muhammara), 4 fresh pitas & a whole chicken. Restaurant has a lot of parking and seating. Staff were nice but it was a bit of a slow service (had to constantly ask for things, such as cutlery, plates, etc). The washroom had the A/C on blast and it was freezing cold but at least it was clean. Now for the food - everything we had was pretty good. I usually don't like garlic sauce but the one that came with the food was pretty creamy and delicious. As for the baba ghanoush, it didn't taste like it but it still had a nice flavour. The Muhammara was amazing, not overly spicy. As for the fattoush, I found it just OK. I've had better ones elsewhere and I find that it lacked the crispy pita bites, as there was only a few. However, it's worth noting that the chicken took around 30-40 minutes to be ready, which I didn't mind because it came well seasoned and well done. It was not too dry, but not juicy either but seasoned well. The rice was also ok and I like that the food wasn't too greasy, but the plate came with way too many onions... I'd recommend this spot and would come back if I'm ever in the area. Would love to try other dishes on the menu.

As a middle eastern establishment you should know that Toum should never be mayonnaise based. And should include ...some... garlic I kind of resent spending money on dinner tonight

Holy moly! I don't know where to start…read more First things first, 8:30 is too early for you to have the chicken off the spits. Shawarma is late night food. You should be rocking that spit until the last minute. Second things second, if you pull the chicken out of a Tupperware container and throw it on a flat top, you're destroying any caramelization that you got from the rotisserie. It also points to the business models origin. Pita pit. Next if you have a giant sign on your wall that says "authentic Syrian cuisine" you can't be using the pita pit business model. Additionally, tomatoes shouldn't be green. Pickled turnip shouldn't be dry and brown. Ice burg lettuce shouldn't be floppy and old. The pickles were too salty, but that's nitpicking. To top it all off they got my order wrong. I ordered a plate and a wrap. I only got a plate. Ok, I can understand that mistake, but if you thought we were sharing a plate you should give us an empty plate to allow sharing. The guys behind the line were too stunted to understand what I was on about, so I just grabbed a plate for myself. Dirty. Greasy. Whatever, I was only using it to keep their table clean from pita drop off. What you call garlic sauce I call mayonnaise, by the way. There's a much better much cheaper shawarma place just up the road called Pita Hut. Go there. Don't go here.

If you held a frozen pillsbury cookie tube, that's how small it is. We ordered a Chicken $5 and a Falafel $5 wrap. My order was everything with garlic sauce and hot sauce. The taste was okay, very happy they has no MSG. But the lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, cabbage ingredients very very little in the chicken wrap and I think my Falafel wrap was made wrong - swapped with the other box order. This new store opened in November and integrates the ability to online order but there is no pay function. So on arrival the order was not made until I showed up (which is a 6min drive from my workplace so it would have been nice to have it ready to pick up). The online function is supposed to help make less mistakes with order by providing the location order in advance but I feel like my order would have been better received verbally. :/ It was a two man operation with one guy making and one guy taking payments. The guy taking the payments touched his mask a lot. Washrooms were closed for guest, so for anyone with a weak bladder this location may not be accessible. It saddens me when I arrive to a take out location without washrooms available for handwashing, especially when you're eating finger foods. This location did not have hand sanitizer available for patrons. It's a rough first experience, but my bookkeeper said she liked it. So gotta give this place another try in the future.
