Restrooms are located outside the venue and they were pretty messy with no soap (at least the ladies). Parking is really close and free on the weekends. (Note: the lounge is only open Wednesday-Saturday evenings, starting at 4PM.) Things that were great-- - The entire vibe. It had cocktail tables throughout and was perfect for mixing and mingling with coworkers. - Shoes. They weren't old and gross! Always a win in my book. - The convenience of having it at the bottom of the hotel and being able to partake/enjoy then just head up the elevator for a good nights sleep. - Pricing for walk-ins seems ok, $5 a game, $4 for shoes. (But call ahead and make a reservation and pay per hour at $35-$45?) - Staff. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. A couple things that wasn't on par-- - The food. We ordered food and drinks from the bar. Standard bar fare, sandwiches and burgers, pizza, etc. The food was good, hot, and came out pretty quickly. The bar area wasn't staffed super well, but we did go at an off time of day to avoid a big crowd. Offerings include a large parking area, private party rooms, bowling lanes (with bumpers if needed), separate bar area (but food and drinks can be taken anywhere), and a game area. About every other time I go bowling at this bowling alley, my bowling lane tv screen (which counts points) messes up, but the people working always get it fixed fairly quickly. Good variety of ball sizes to choose from to bowl with. Food selection is good as well. There is a large selection of traditional bowling alley fried foods (fried cheese curds, fried pickles, fried mozzarella cheese sticks, etc...). This bowling alley is adjacent to the sand volleyball courts, which are fun to watch or participate in as well. The Cedar Rapids Sports/Social Club hosts a lot of summer and winter events (including bowling). At this bowling alley, I usually get a pitcher of Big Grove's Arms Race craft beer to drink with friends as we bowl. The atmosphere is classically sophisticated with an air of the 80s.
