While driving there we talked to the owner again and she said actually No we couldn't return it and that it was our fault the D hook snapped. She said we didn't know what we were doing and it was our fault. My husband called her and didn't get to say a word and she proceeded to rant and yell at him. He quoted some thermostats to which he had added a 200% mark up. Presumably to discover I was dumb enough to bite. Why 200% markup on material? I wonder what his labor or hourly would have been?
