This place is HUGE. AND THE BBQ PORK SANDWICHES ARE AMAZING.! Service great. Holy cow. I am so hungry that I bought several sandwiches for the road and to take home and have for a later date. If you have time this place is huge and has a lot to see, buy and enjoy. Glad I switched routes and made this a stop. Crazy busy but worth it.
First time ever going to Buc-ee's. I've seen all the hype on social media about this place but it wasn't til I relocated out to Colorado that I finally got to see one up close. The best way I can describe it is to picture a Maverik gas station but on steroids! This place is huge and insane. It's a great one stop shop while out on the road because you can fill up and shop. They offer a huge selection of novelty items as well as food and beverage. The food is stellar! From brisket to chicken and some fajitas Buc-ee's doesn't disappoint. Just need a snack they have all kinds of snacks from yogurts to cookie dough bites to all the candy, beef jerky, and snacks you can imagine. When I say this place is his huge I mean it's huge! They several fridges offering a wide selection of beverages along with fountain drinks. This place is definitely worth a visit at least! The food is delicious! The prices aren't too bad either. Don't forget the selfy next to the beaver himself posted out front! 10 outta 10, I highly recommend!
This was my first time at a Buccee's. What a crazy place! There were so many people when I was there around 4pm. I made my way to the BBQ station and took in the intoxicating smells of sweet sauce, smoke and beef. So good. I grabbed a Chopped Brisket Sandwich and two of their delicious Dark Chocolade Caramels with Sea Salt candies. I wandered around for a little bit checking out the jerky, cookies, fudge, and mercantile items. I could get lost in there for hours looking at everything. Such a cool place. I would say be careful as you navigate the parking lot. People were walking out from behind cars and weren't paying attention to where they were going. I almost had someone walk into my car as I was looking for a parking spot.
Our nation's interstate highway system is populated by millions of weary humans traveling in steel boxes, desperate for fuel, caffeine, and sugar. Most gas stations treat you like a minor inconvenience. Buc-ee's, however, has erected a massive, glittering cathedral dedicated to a cartoon beaver, and it treats highway consumerism as a joyful, high-stakes religion. We were driving from Denver to Cheyenne with a handful of individuals who have never experienced the phenomenon that is Buc-ee's, so stopping was an absolute certainty. People from the Mid-Atlantic who lack worldliness like to claim that Buc-ee's is just an oversized Wawa or Sheetz. They are entirely wrong. For starters, Buc-ee's explicitly bans 18-wheelers from the property, leaving the grid of well over one hundred fueling positions open entirely to a synchronized ballet of family SUVs. Inside, the scale is borderline psychedelic. There is a literal "Wall of Jerky" and rows of rotating homemade fudge flavors. At the center is the Texas Round Up station, where employees in paper hats yell "Fresh brisket on the board!" before chopping smoked beef with rhythmic, hypnotic violence. I bought the mandatory Beaver Nuggets: puffy, caramel-coated corn snacks resembling mutant Corn Pops that possess the terrifying supernatural ability to vanish from the bag without any conscious human intervention. Then there are the restrooms. They are celebrated on billboards for hundreds of miles, and they live up to the mythology. They are massive, brightly lit, and so impossibly clean that you suspect the laws of biological decay have been suspended by corporate decree. The entire operation functions because the company pays wages well above the highway standard, proving a radical sociological theory: if you compensate people fairly, they will actually take pride in keeping a floor spotless. It is a wildly efficient, beautifully absurd roadside institution. You pull in merely needing regular unleaded, and you leave with a warm chopped brisket sandwich, a bag of sugary corn, and a profound sense of wonder.
Holy smokes. I had no idea what to expect of this place. Of course I'd heard of it, but did not know what the hype was all about and certainly did not expect there to be 128 gas pumps and a small Walmarty crazy town on the inside. I think we might've been the only ones that felt slightly overwhelmed finding parking and with the chaos inside. They pretty much have everything you could need on a road trip or otherwise - clothing, gifts, endless fresh food, a wall of fountain beverages, self serve coffee with any creamer/additive/syrup you could imagine, a bakery, a butcher. It was quite the spectacle. But seriously, straight up chaos inside. This is an 100% American type of place. My boyfriend did hear that they were known for their brisket sandwiches, which I have to say, was definitely delish. And they cut it right there for you to watch and put together the sandwiches. There was also a tortilla making station and I noticed the kids liked watching that. And, of course, Buc-ee the beaver was there and taking photos with the kids too! Seriously, it felt like a rural adventure land of sorts. Certainly not for those that get anxiety in crowds though, that's for sure. The cashier said the weekends were crazy busy, but the weekdays are still *busy*. Crazy.
Shouldn't a gas station have window cleaners at the pumps??? Inside is a typical Buc-ee's: lots of drink selections, hot sandwiches, and clean restrooms.
O-Kay Buc-ees show me what you've got. Me, one hour later: "holy hell". It's a touristy gift shop, with some specialty items, lots of buc-ees branded merch, convenience store style hot food items, coffee, stuff for your car, your pets and you, your kids, your sweetie. I'm not sure if it's a mini mall, an expanded truck stop convenience store, or a glaring testament to consumerism. What makes it different from the usual convenience store might be the bbq cutting station with periodic group shouts from the guys working that area. I have no idea what they were saying, but it happened pretty regularly and you could hear it all over the store. And let's talk about the fudge station. Oh yes .... Winner on that. Still, it's a convenience store, a couple of steps above the norm, but once you get beyond the circus-y vibe, it's an experience that leaves me with the meh mindset for a repeat. Except maybe for that fudge and the people working the checkout counters ...

BUCEEs is such a awesome place !!! What a big world of a gas station .... They have always been known for their verrrry clean bathrooms and it did not disappoint... wow so clean!! It's for sure a place to come visit again ...
I've always wanted to visit a Buc-ee's and was so excited when one finally opened in CO! The last time we were in CO we didn't get a chance to visit, so this time we definitely made a point to. I personally think the hype is real. There's so much food to choose from, and so so so many snacks and souvenirs. There's something for everyone. The place is huuuuge and there are a ton of gas pumps. Everything was affordable and the bathrooms were very clean. I appreciated that there were red and green lights showing which stalls were open and which were occupied. The workers were very efficient in their tasks, be it cutting fresh brisket, replenishing food items, or cleaning the store. My husband grabbed a brisket sandwich and a key lime pie pudding cup, both of which he said were delicious and again worth the hype. I didn't get anything as I had leftovers from the previous day, but I would have probably grabbed their famous pulled-pork sandwich if I didn't. We will definitely be back the next time we're in the Denver area!
Wow, this was our first time stopping at a Buc-ee's and it was pretty amazing for a gas station. They have TONS of gas pumps, so zero waiting. Their bathrooms are spotless. Shopping was very fun! We bought T-shirts for the family, hats, magnets and a variety of other things. Best of all was the food. We tried the brisket sandwich and Carolina pulled pork sandwich, along with some Beaver chips (homemade potato chips). We bought fudge to go and it was the best fudge I've ever eaten. The jerky selection was next-level and the jerky we tried was amazing. I really wish we had one closer to home but at least we have one in our home state of Arizona now.
Honestly? What's not to like? Maybe I'm easy to please, but the $2 build your own coffee sold me immediately. I love a crisp, iced coffee and being able to customize it with so many different options, was fantastic. There's something for everyone on that coffee bar, from dairy-free to heavy cream to syrups, chocolate sauce, and caramel... yeah. I had FUN! I also enjoyed the array of beef and turkey jerky available. This being one of my personal favorite snacks, quickly turned into a mini adventure by visiting the jerky case to taste test at least 5 different flavors to ultimately land on my favorite! I had such a great time with the taste testing and the wonderful staff was such a joy to chat with. I highly recommend taste testing next time you stop into Buc-ee's! The pricing all around for food and gas is reasonable and what I also enjoyed was the way so many different people came out for the Buc-ee's lore.
Buc-ee's is something else. I thought the quik trip gas stations were big, until I went here. This thing is like a small Walmart, and is absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible. It had everything. You can buy clothes, get tons of desserts, go to the fudge station, grab and freshly made pulled pork sandwich, and tons of other things. The amount of people who were here was crazy and the amount of employees this place had for one gas station blew my mind. The only part I didnt like is they needed more cashiers. It took awhile to get out of this place, but it was worth it.

We recently drove 3000 miles and were looking towards our first visit to Buc-ee's. We even sent slightly out of our way just to make it here! It was totally worth it. I thought I bought a bunch of food and merchandise, but I was wrong. I should have spent more Driving in we decided to fill up even though the tank was pretty full. 100 spots to fill, so no there was no wait. The bathrooms were clean and they even had lights above each stall to show which were open. They sell a lot of stuff. I got a shirt, sweats, hats, and a few other items that looked like fun things to have. I skipped the $20 onsie. I probably should have bought that too. As for food, I love the fresh chips and those chopped brisket sandwiches. I did not think the breakfast sandwiches were as tasty. There is a wall of beef jerky, but I went straight to the glass and asked started pointing and asking for it by weight. Jerky isn't cheap, but it's good. My favorite was like a refrigerated ready to eat sausage. read more

As a self-proclaimed Buc-ee's fanatic, I've been hooked ever since visiting my first location in Mississippi. So imagine my excitement when I found out Colorado's Buc-ee's in Johnstown was only about 15 minutes from my Airbnb! This place is massive, with what feels like an endless sea of gas pumps, and I consistently find their fuel prices to be among the most competitive around. For road-trippers, that's a win before you even walk through the door. Inside, Buc-ee's is an experience all by itself. The store is packed with reasonably priced souvenirs, Buc-ee's merchandise, award-winning restrooms and local Colorado-themed items. This visit, I loaded up on some of my favorites: A sliced brisket barbecue sandwich Brisket mac & cheese Rice Krispies treats and double fudge brownies Potato chips Buc-ee's famous beef jerky for the flight home Everything was fresh, tasty, and exactly what I've come to expect from Buc-ee's. Now, let's be honest: the place is usually chaotic, busy, and loud. That's part of the Buc-ee's experience. Our cashier seemed a little uninspired this time around, but in my experience, the staff is generally friendly and helpful. Buc-ee's has become part of my vacation tradition. If there's one anywhere near my route, I'm stopping. And usually spending more money than I planned to! Between the fuel, food, snacks, and souvenirs, it's one of those rare travel stops that's actually a destination. For Buc-ee's fans, this is a must-visit. For everyone else, one visit is usually all it takes to understand the hype. read more

Perfect place to refuel, both you and your car! They have the best mascot and plenty of fun themed things to get of him. Plenty of snacks and clean bathrooms. Truly a religious experience to go. All hail Buc-ee's read more
Fueling Up on Fun Stopped at Buc-ee's, which felt like pulling into a small country with a million gas pumps. No lottery tickets, which is tragic for a gambler like me trying to manifest a scratch-off miracle. The food made up for it--brisket, sausage, chicken, all legit and way better than anything a gas station should be serving. I even walked out with a Christmas onesie, because Buc-ee's has that "buy things you never planned on" energy. It's commercial and gimmicky, but fun! read more

Want a taste of Americana? Peal of the freeway at Johnstown and immerse yourself in the mania of Buc-cee's. It's got everything and by everything I mean mountains of Buc-cee's branded clothes, food, gear, chochkees and even more shit you didn't know you needed. With the holidays coming there was Ana amazing selection of holiday stuff. Cool gifts and goody things like a Buc-crew's branded Santa suit. Massive stations for drinks, sweets, prepared foods, jerky, baked goods and all the snacks and toys and spices and the list goes on forever. Oh yah, they have their own tortilla machine! Outside there are easily 100 pump stations and Rows of ice machines Inside they have immaculate bathrooms, lots of staff stocking shelves, making food and checking people out. There are always lines to pay but you never wait long. Gas is cheap, prices for food and goods range based on quality and whether the product has a trump tariff. They have a decent selection of outdoor gear, gifts of every type imaginable and even wine! The store is so clean and amazingly well stocked. Shopping carts and baskets are plentiful and people are genuinely enjoying themselves. It's worth a stop but beware, you will spend some money if you do. read more
The Disney of Gas stations ! The hype was real and everything I heard was accurate. It's like Hobby lobby meets Texas BBQ With a convenient store attached. The cleanest bathroom in the world lol. Side note: I tried the Brisket Sammy and the Fried chicken Sammy and both left me questioning "There is no way gas station food could be this good" All in all, if you haven't gone, you should go. read more

I've never been to Buc-ees before, so I decided to take a trip out there for my sister's birthday. She seems to love this place so much I walked in and I could see why that was all a lot to look at so many things. Is that really making weird noises? The variety of food they have to offer is amazing! They have so much memorabilia and it's all Buc-ees !!! The Food Was Great I love the idea that they were making food right in front of us as we're pulling it off the shelf they're refilling. It was nothing empty on the shelves. If you ever feel like taking a road trip? Put this in your maps get in your car and go give it a try! Thanks For The Read Until Next Time.... read more
"Aren't you glad we finally got away And I'm so glad that we Finally had some" (Beach Boys) I've been wanting to visit a Buc-ees for quite a long time, but sadly, the closest one to us is over 400 miles away in Mount Crawford, Virginia, so I never did. That is until yesterday when our tour bus stopped on I-90 in Johnstown, Colorado for a rest stop at the 60th of Buc-ees 69 stores. It opened here in March of 2024. Are you familiar with Buc-ees? It's a Texas-based travel center that's developed a cult-like following. I guess its true that good things happen to those who wait. It's really hard to describe the Buc-ees experience. Let me start with some numbers., it has a mind-blowing 116 fueling stations and 12 electric vehicle charging stations. So that was pretty wild to see before my big toe ever crossed the threshold. But when you enter the store in this mammoth complex, you'll discover it covers 74,000-square feet and contains thousands of snack, food and drink choices, homemade fudge, a full bakery; barbecued brisket, turkey and pulled pork, clothes, outdoor gear, home goods, toys, books, wine, and one of its claims to fame, "the "world's cleanest bathrooms, freshest food and friendliest beaver." Of course, their mascot "Buc-ee the Beaver" was on hand, and of course we shamelessly posed for a picture with him. It was too bad our bus stop only lasted for 30-minutes, but we successfully visited the restroom, and crammed our shopping basket with $39 worth of Buc-ees stuff -namely a souvenir tote bag, Salted Caramel Rice Crispy treat, 2 bags of Buc-ees flavored popcorn, a bag of Cherry Maple Buc-es beef jerky, two Buc-ees slap wrap plushies, and a hunk of Praline fudge. The fudge turned out to be problematic because TSA flagged it on their screener, and we had to open the bag and explain it. I guess it resembled a block of plastique explosive or something dangerous. But the TSA guard was cool when she saw what it was. She smiled and said, "fudge is OK by me". read more

Checked off. Definitely will not be back. While trecking to Pudre Valley, it was perfect opportunity to stop by and check out what the fuss is all about.... and glad I did. It's a huge gas station with the same item as local gas station like QuikaTrip but with own branding and lot more variety and more in stock to offer. Maybe add a small mom and pop stores at the mountain towns like Idaho Spring or Estes Park? Did I see taffy offerings? I did grab reheated sausage kolach from friendly attendant. It was just OK. Nothing close to the ones from Texas. Also had a station making candied almonds, cashews and pecans. Right front of you. I had to grab a small bag of pecans to munch on my long journey. Also got the Colorado Buc-ee shirt. Hoot hoot! Overall, clean, well organized and lots of fresh to go food. Price was bit higher. read more

I tried to explain to my friend who hadn't heard of Buc-ee's why I like it so much. And honestly it's a hard thing to describe. On paper, Buc-ee's is not really something I would like. It's like the Disneyland of gas stations, as I describe it. I have little desire to visit Disneyland, but somehow still, I enjoy visiting Buc-ee's. I've been to 4 locations, each time I visit I get an iced coffee from the coffee bar, and I try to get a new food item, and I generally buy some type of Buc-ee's swag. Usually a t-shirt. The place is super clean, the restrooms are the best you'll find on the road, there are so many pumps for gas you won't wait long, and employees are friendly. They offer house made beef jerky, an icee area, iced coffee bar, house made food with a large selection of items. And all kinds of Buc-ee branded items. For now, Buc-ee's holds supreme as best rest stop/ convenience store & gas station I've been to. Buc-ee's was a true treat for the family! 1st - the gas was much cheaper than anywhere I've been too in Colorado and it was 20 cents cheaper than the gas station next door. 2nd - the family absolutely loved walking around and grabbing different treats. We had the pork rinds, brisket sandwich and even bought the dog a treat home. This was a great place to stop at and it's everything you'd imagine! read more

Who doesn't love Buc-ee's?! My kids said we had to make a stop before we left CO. They have everything here! Good food, clothing, so many souvenir options, clean restrooms and more! We spent almost $200 - Lol. Until our next visit.. read more

The first Buc-ee's opened in Colorado (March 2024). While planning our trip to Colorado (and nearby states), I wanted to make sure that we would make a stop at this location, as I am no stranger of Buc-ee's and I am a huge fan of this store. This location is similar to the many other locations that I have visited in other states, where there are many clean restrooms, brisket sandwiches, numerous of hot food choices, snacks galore, Buc-ee's merchandise. We ended up visiting this location on two separate visits. Both on a Saturday and were lucky to see Buc-ee's himself waiting around for fans to take photos with. And both times, we took photos and were given Buc-ee's stickers. Over these two visits, we purchased gasoline but also the following: Veggie Burrito, $6.99 prior to tax- I really liked this burrito the first time we got it so I ended up purchasing it again on our second visit. This burrito is pretty huge, stuffed with refried beans, black beans, rice, cheese, sliced sauteed bell peppers, corn. I was definitely pretty full after eating it both times. But I must warn you that the burrito itself is crazy hot when trying to pick it up from the warmer. But if you hold it by the label, then it is manageable to pick up and bring to the registers. Beef & Cheese Burrito, $8.00 prior to tax- My husband decided to get this, to try something new since we have both had the brisket sandwich several times on previous visits to Buc-ee's in other states. I was actually surprised that this burrito was tasty. The cheese used was a white sauce cheese, reminds me of queso. The burrito size is a little smaller than my veggie burrito but still filling. Bag of ice- $1.99 prior to tax- This 10 pound bag is pretty cheap (cheaper than Sonics for those that are wondering). We purchased this bag of ice the first time for our cooler. We paid inside and then picked up a bag in one of the freezers outside (it really is the honor's system). Fried Apple Pie, $2.49 prior to tax- My husband opted to pick this up. I didn't have any but he thought it was good. But there was not as much apple pie filling as a McDonald's apple pie and there was a lot more of the breaded/ fried pie shell. Side of barbecue sauce, $0.25 prior to tax- We did not know that there was a charge for the sauce, as an employee at the barbecue sandwich station had suggested that we pick up a side of sauce. There is no sign that indicates that there is a charge. The sauce itself wasn't that good, it has a vinegary/ tangy flavor and I personally prefer my barbecue to be a little sweeter. My husband thought it was just okay. -------------------------- Service was friendly during our first visit. But checking out and paying for our purchase during the second visit, the employee helping us wasn't friendly at all. It seemed like she didn't really care to be there. But overall, we still have a positive experience on both visits and would come again. read more

All depends on how early. There'll always be a morning rush. But once the new novelty of Bucc ee's wears off it's less busy generally. But there's always a 'buzz'!
Are they dog friendly (chihuahuas)?
The make food here, please don't bring your dog inside.
